No CoronaVirus Tracker Included

2024-12-16

AppleCOVID19 needs a CoronaVirus tracker included to be worth using. Right now we have tons medical apps on the AppStore that offer medical advice and medical information on the Virus. We also have a CoronaVirus tracker on the AppStore. What we don’t have is an app on the AppStore that has both combined. And apparently Apple didn’t see a point to make its app stand out from the other medical advice/medical information apps. So it’s no different than the other medical advice/medical information apps. If you already have one, this one is no different so don’t feel like you need to replace the other one with this one.

Q/A Need Further Clarity

2024-12-16

I thought as a screening tool, AppleCOVID19 did the job in keeping it simple but I think there are a few gaps that need further definition. For example, some of the questions need the answer option of “I don’t know,” if you don’t know If you have been exposed to others with COVID. There needs to be more clarity in what it means to leave in an “area with widespread cases of COVID.” Is area considered town/city, county or state? How do you definite “widespread?” I think without clearing defining some of these questions, it will increase anxiety and panic among users causing a surge in calls to drs and/or showing up at the hospital.

Confusion

2024-12-16

I’m writing in hopes the cdc looks at this. I’ve had chest pressure constant for over a week now. I kept reading where I should go in so I contacted my doctor. They told me very well could be covid but they aren’t testing anyone who isn’t being admitted into the hospital and that I shouldn’t come in to the hospital unless myself or family member is gasping for air! Very first thing under should you get tested I have to say yes to the constant chest pressure and it says call 911 now! So there is lots of misinformation being given just so you are aware.

Does not support enough iOS versions

2024-12-16

The apps functionality is fine, however, I had to hold back one star. If you have a older device, for example, an iPhone 6, which cannot be upgraded to iOS 12, AppleCOVID19 will not install.

There are millions of customers who operate their devices on iOS 10 and 11. Supporting only the latest version of iOS is doing a disservice to many in Apple’s installed base and dilutes the goodwill Apple is trying to create. This is not a good app to use to nudge customers to upgrade their devices.

So Apple, how about regression testing on iOS 10 and 11, for the public good? I smell a press release and a mention in the annual report could be just around the corner. 🤔

Regarding the “care facility” question

2024-12-16

AppleCOVID19 asks some good questions to help you determine if you need testing.

I take slight issue with the “care facility “ question. Many people in Florida work in childcare or early learning centers. We are still required to go to work, as we’re considered “essential.” As such, risk exposure. Children present with fewer symptoms and are at lesser risk. However, they can still spread Covid-19 to adults. The “Care Facility” question should expand to include whether or not you work in childcare, as this is very relevant to exposure.

Please consider updating / improving upon this section.

It may help people

2024-12-16

Needs to be a little clearer. I have a heart condition but isn’t congestive heart failure, does that mean I’m not in the higher risk category? I was under the impression I am. And the exposure questions, nobody can say for sure that they haven’t been around a sick person unless they’ve been in a cave the last few months. I had a cashier at a big chain store cough in my face last week. She didn’t have a big red sign saying she was sick so I guess I’ll be just fine.
I do applaud the effort of AppleCOVID19 though. I think it will ultimately benefit society.

Good but there’s a major flaw

2024-12-16

Great app, and potentially a model for more broadly addressing a range of public health needs.

Unfortunately, in the case of this outbreak, AppleCOVID19 falls flat on one of its main requirements. Perhaps the most important question is, have you been in contact with someone with COVID-19? AppleCOVID19 assumes you know and asks only about people who have been tested. But there’s a lack of testing available in the US.

I suspect my family has the disease but we are recovering nicely, and just need to self-isolate as a result. That means no testing for us. Without access to testing, there’s no way to know for certain if we have this particular virus or something else.

So you’ve got a questionnaire that blithely assumes testing is widely available, being completed by a community suffering from a dearth of testing. Not ideal.

Anyway, great work on AppleCOVID19 .

Please indicate if more questions are hidden.

2024-12-16

At least on my iPhone 11Pro Max, the question asking if I am “experiencing any of these symptoms “ the box “Aching throughout the body” ends with enough amount of space between it and the Next Question box that it seems there aren’t any more.. though hidden are two more questions.
Please do a better job of identifying hidden boxes. I know  is loathe to indicate a scroll bar, but something is needed to prompt the user that there is more to discover.

Great App! And it will be Greater if

2024-12-16

I actually have a very responsable request to Apple developers or who ever is responsible for AppleCOVID19.

I truly feel this platform can also served as a great tool if we all agree to self report if positive or negative and make that available within a 5 miles radio of my location (exact location doesn't need to be shared) My self and 50 more people (family and friends) believe that if we can have a platform where we can informed our neighbors that I have self reported positive for coronavirus or that am under quarantine due to symptoms it will allowed my neighbors to prepare better and act more responsible in my community. It will not create panic if used accordingly and with discipline.

Please if this is something that as a tech company you can provide it would really mean a lot to me and my family. But am sure the same feeling will be for others when they see the results.

Stop whining about the app!

Giving AppleCOVID19 a 1 star is not helping AppleCOVID19 improve if it’s all about ranting about how quick AppleCOVID19 looks. Due keep in mind that Apple is a trillion dollar company & is working with the CDC & Gov’t for the most accurate & precise answers with the right questions, not only that Apple will always be updating AppleCOVID19 has the crisis is global.
If you really want AppleCOVID19 to be the best for you then go work for Apple & fix AppleCOVID19 yourself since all you will do is complain about it. Sarcasm & ridiculous reviews is not actionable with Apple. Just state what needs to be done & that’s that. Lastly don’t make a review about this review.
My experience with AppleCOVID19 is excellent with its simplicity of questions and answers for the symptoms of the virus.
Needless to say that the more information about this virus, the better everyone will able to prevent & protect against it.
Thank you, Apple, for AppleCOVID19.

needs to emphasize how EXTREMELY contagious covid19 is

2024-12-16

Also needs to stress the stay-at-home orders which are now law in many states and counties. This illness can be transmitted to many others (who will also transmit to many others) before people have any idea they are sick. Local governments are giving out wildly different guidelines but everyone does need to Stay At Home to keep our healthcare workers alive.

Maybe more info about how many hospitals are already almost out of protective gear and the people supposed to help us are getting sick, even dying.

Thank you, Apple. Stay safe everyone.

Great Tool

2024-12-16

I agree with the last comment, AppleCOVID19 is not a cure but it is a great way to reduce panic. It is the flu season and people with the flu or even a common cold can get confused with the coronavirus. People, it is not the time to point out faults, it is the time to utilize anything that is useful. Maybe there are other apps that have useful features that AppleCOVID19 does not have, but ask yourself, have you ever been perfect, nothing is. Anybody trying to help in any way, big or small should be supported...together we can protect others and ourselves.

PLEASE STAY HOME TO PREVENT SPREADING

2024-12-16

AppleCOVID19 is filled full of information that is verified true so it’s really important to read all of this. however i can not stress how important it is to stay home! you can go on walks but please please PLEASE don’t hang out with friends or anything because this is how COVID-19 spreads faster. that is the one and ONLY downside of AppleCOVID19, is that it doesn’t really stress how important it is to stay home

please stay home and stay safe and soon this will all be over :)
-VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER

lol There aren’t enough tests.... give them an app!

2024-12-16

This is helpful for people who aren’t familiar with the virus, especially in areas where there is still a strong feeling that it won’t ever be as bad as it is else where.. that never here mentality, but the reality is there aren’t enough actual tests and people who need tests aren’t getting them because there is such a limited number. This feels pandering while watching people die because of lack of medical supplies.

Fast and easy!

2024-12-16

Great quick resource for information that I have have numerous people ask me about. As a health care provider, I have a lot of people under my care, many of whom do not have the best health. It is so important that they have guidance to help them understand when they need additional care. AppleCOVID19 appears to have those tools, and I will be recommending it to those I am in communication with. Thank you for helping in the fight!
