myStudentAid says I have poor internet connection but I know my internet is fine. Then it says I can not save. You can not pause the application or have it running in the background to google anything or look up information or open anything else on your phone while myStudentAid is running otherwise it wont save so there is no point in continuing and you will have to log in again BUT if you log out and try logging in again immediately your dashboard doesn’t load or information that you know did save is not on there. I understand patience is key but geez it shouldn’t be this hard to fill out a form online. I shouldn’t have to fill it out 3 or 4 times before realizing there are flaws to work around. It’s convenient that this is an app but the flaws make it counterproductive so its not actually convenient. Its a nightmare.

The fafsa website just doesn’t open. It loads and loads and never takes you to anything other than a load screen. myStudentAid doesn’t crash, but syncing parent and child FSA ID took me filling the faces form out three times. My parent finished their information then I went to log in and it said none of it was filled out until it finally stayed filled out on the third try. Honestly, it was hours of frustration. Also in order to add more than ten schools I have to go back take schools off the list and then resubmit. That’s a really weird, outdated, and unnecessarily convoluted method considering it’s 2022. My school website literally has better functionality than myStudentAid. That said it is better than the website that just doesn’t load. Financial aid is really important to students and their families and myStudentAid made the process a real headache.

I was trying to file FAFSA for my second year of college, but the website was being weird and would either kick me out or never load whenever I tried to proceed. I saw that there was an app and decided to try, it worked a million times better! Super user-friendly layout and I was able to finish smoothly. Definitely try if the site gives you problems.

I’ve been struggling with myStudentAid for the past 4 days. No matter where I am or even if the connection is great, it keeps telling me it can’t submit due to network problems. My connection is really good and everything worse works on my phone so I know it isn’t connection. On wifi or off it still won’t let me submit my form which is really frustrating especially since I wanted to submit it by the 1st. Now I’m more and more behind still struggle to submit the fasfa which I completed multiple times now.

I’m usually not a person who is compelled enough to leave reviews, but myStudentAid was so bad it forced me to take the time out of my day to warn others against it. One of the most prominent bugs is the continue button, which sometimes works depending on luck. The worst bug if all was that it refused to save my information and refused to let me complete and submit my fasfa form, because of this i had to start the form all over using the website.

I have never seen a company/website have such an awful user experience AND such awful customer service. After you’ve spent your money they will do absolutely everything they can in their power to avoid paying you a penny and their customer service will be condescending and belittling before realizing that they’re wrong, long story short this whole corporation is a prime example of why we need an education revolution in America

The data in the FAFSA entry files are not saved and work is constantly lost.

Used to pay my loan off through Fedloan, was very user friendly and you could pay through myStudentAid . Unfortunately, the u.s. department of education is forcing us to switch services. Any time I try to sign in online it says my password is wrong and wants to lock my account. But it lets me sign in on myStudentAid . Problem is, you can’t pay on myStudentAid . Hoping you guys add that feature.

As if it’s not painful enough to have the federal government gouge students and families with unfair loan rates ~ they push a dysfunctional app to complete what already is a tedious and in terms of cost - toxic system. When it comes to affordable higher education and access to reasonable cost of financing - The US federal government is failing its citizens while also leveraging a bug riddled App that is simply - insanely frustrating to complete a simple application.

When it’s working , it’s great and easy to use. However, whenever I need to check on status, I need to delete myStudentAid altogether and then reinstall it to even sign in.

I haven’t been able to use myStudentAid at all as I am the parent, myStudentAid asks for students date of birth but it automatically adds todays date. I can’t switch it and there is no way to pass that question page without the correct DOB. So myStudentAid is useless.

While on myStudentAid I was trying to type in information and when I click the text box nothing happens. myStudentAid is so glitchy and sometimes theirs not even a back button to get back to the Home Screen.

myStudentAid is utter garbage. I would really recommend going on the fafsa website. Once I completed my fafsa and went to sign and submit the form, it deleted most of the information I just entered. When I say I was fuming oh boy I was lol. Save yourself the trouble and access the website.

Unable to search or complete forms without crashes and dysfunction! Ridiculous to call this help or opportunity! Bad joke! Just another way to keep poor people stalled or scurrying around for crumbs dropped by the 1%…. F this.

The website kept crashing on my MacBook, so I thought I’d try to download myStudentAid . I could not make it past the second screen on myStudentAid . The drop down box for date of birth would only
show today’s date.

myStudentAid needs to be updated to make it more secure. It was showing up on my list of apps to update and now it isn't, even though it I had it added in my cell. I'm unsure what is going on, but right now myStudentAid seems not reliable. Please fix.

I couldn’t get past the first screen where they ask for DOB. The only option I could enter was today’s date and of course it gave an error. Will have to file FAFSA on the website instead.

It always gives an error “unknown issue.
unknown starting app. Please restart myStudentAid , check network settings, update to latest version, or try again.” Still doesn’t work. Junk app.

myStudentAid has many bugs. I was hoping to have an easier time than the website but myStudentAid didn’t allow me to complete the form at all.

It would be great if notifications we a part of myStudentAid’s functionality. How great it would’ve been to get notified on Oct. 1st that the 19/20 FAFSA is ready to be completed.

Also why on earth is myStudentAid named “this app”? And myStudentAid icon says “Federal Student Aid”? Either match the two for consistency or and even better idea would be to call myStudentAid “FAFSA”. I’m just thinking from a student’s perspective and to try and make it as simple as possible to complete.

But as a plus, myStudentAid layout is great and it works really well guiding people through the FAFSA process. Good job FSA!

Love that FASFA can now ALL be done ENTIRELY on your device! Displays large, colorful buttons, guiding you thru the form, saving each section as you go along... and all editable! We did it in no time in the middle of the night. Way To Go FASFA! Tip: We found it easier to be with dependent during the process, have him log in as “student” and have him fill in all his AND our parent info while we provide it for him. Then once it’s time to sign he signs 1st, logs out then we log in and sign. Easy!

I love myStudentAid ! I was trying to fill out my fafsa info on their website but every couple of minutes it would kick me out and say ERROR. I would try again and it’d kick me out again! I would even have to start all over again which was very frustrating. I saw their ad for myStudentAid and thought I’d try it. So glad I downloaded it! It was so easy. Didn’t give my any trouble at all and I was actually able to finish really quick.

Thought I would be able to follow up to view our student’s summary page but myStudentAid kept asking me to register after I’d already logged in. Unable to get any needed info.

I currently don’t have access to a computer but lucky for me myStudentAid is around! It was so quick and easy to go through all the sections, fill out information and eventually submit! The different parts told me what section my information was in which made tracking down some data very easy for me! Took less than an hour to fill out my FASFA this year! Great experience and great app!

Being a financial aid counselor I am excited about the new app. I have went through myStudentAid and it offers a lot of resources through the one app. This makes it easier for the students to complete FAFSA, complete loan process and they can also log in and find out information regarding their loan. Great app and easy to use!

Today October 5 , 2018 was my first time using it , it was super easy and quick. It was better then using the online version. I would recommend to have your taxes that you filed with ready to use just in case you need to refer to it but I always suggest to use the transfer data tool on IRS.

myStudentAid ’s reliability is like rolling the dice. Utterly inconsistent and shows the developer’s lack of respect for the time of the customer. Here’s what’s specifically wrong:

Twice I completed the FAFSA, signed it and saved it...only to have myStudentAid not retain the info.

App sometimes kicks you out and you to log in re-entering SNN, birthdates, etc.

Certain buttons in the main menu simply don’t work.

Will not show you your EFC upon completion. C’mon, guys, you can do better than this.

Asks you to transfer from IRS tax site, then still asks for data on already retrieved.

After the parent fills out the FAFSA and only needs their child’s signature, myStudentAid requires that the child re-enter every bit of information the parent already entered. I did this twice only to have it not retain it.

I was really excited to try myStudentAid. The first time I used it to start a new fafsa it worked fine and I thought it was awesome. I don’t know what happened but there seems to be so many bugs now, it becomes frustrating very quickly. I waited to leave a bad review, hoping they would get resolved but they haven’t. It’s constantly force closing/logging me out, making it impossible to click the ‘next’ buttons... among a few other things.

myStudentAid could possibly been so useful and convenient but it’s extremely buggy. It doesn’t respond quickly and it looks very outdated. I believe with some upgrades and designs myStudentAid could be more useful. I have so much trouble logging in because it doesn’t respond or freezes. I know it’s not my phone for a fact but rather myStudentAid just hasn’t been updated in a while.

Even just trying to create my ID was a challenge. It is slow and if you click continue more than once it resets you due to inactivity or hitting the back button. Even though you have done neither of those things. After 10 minutes of entering the same information, I got the hang of the glitches only to find that clicking on the address line didn’t not allow me to type anything. Really myStudentAid is useless.

I was trying to fill out my fasfa, I had tried to do it 3 times on my phone doing it and when I get to the end for my parent to sign there was no but for parent signature and just the home button to send you out of the completion of the fasfa to logging me out every time and I decided to go to my school to see what was the problem with it and i figured out that myStudentAid needs a lot of help for it to be what it’s supposed to do.

As a parent using myStudentAid , after meticulous, repetitive entry of all data, there still seems to be something I miss when it (without fail) shows my SS number under my child's verses his. I've attempted this 4 times, 2 of those times having been kicked out of myStudentAid with an error message. Gonna give it a 5th try, and if it zaps me again I will go elsewhere to gain assistance

I used myStudentAid intending to be faster but after saving multiple times, after logging on again, I had to re-enter all of my parent info AGAIN after I had spent a hour at my parents house getting their info. Like really, it’s very frustrating, and all I’m trying to do is finish this and it deletes what I have done. Just do it online and not on myStudentAid because it is NOT reliable. Very frustrating!

I love myStudentAid!! It’s really quick and easy. Makes a stressful process go very smooth and it doesn’t ask/have you do any extra things strictly things you’ll need for your fafsa.
