So customers order from an app when the servers are all standing around doing nothing. Won’t be coming back here until they ditch this dumb app.

Couldn’t even get a refund after there were issues with our food and the service was lacking.

I am a longtime loyal customer of Kitchen Next Door and I work on tech. I love the restaurant and it’s food and have always come with family, friends and for business.

NextDoorEatery though is horrible. It ruins the dining experience. Waiters have now been diminished to food runners and the service experience has plummeted. I get the need to COVID related protocols, but most restaurants have solved this with online menus while maintaining wait staff to take orders. Not sure if Next Door is trying to pinch pennies or just made a bad app decision, but the overall experience has been negatively impacted by NextDoorEatery.

Forced to download an app to order and eat at your restaurant. Then at checkout I have to enter all of my contact info to pay my bill? On top of that, the food was overpriced and mediocre at best. App deleted. Won’t be back.

Why do I need to download an app when there’s wait staff walking around? Why do I have to pay and tip before I get my food? Just do a mobile menu like everyone else. This isn’t innovative, it’s solving a problem that didn’t exist lol. We almost got up and left Bc of this

Also, the second we paid for the food/gave a tip, the host never showed up once again to our table. We didn’t get napkins and they never checked in on us. Honestly a terrible way of handling a restaurant experience

First time users have to jump through multiple hoops (download app, pick location, enter table number) then share the phone at the table so every can look at the mini (time consuming!!) then entering order and then have to add email and a password??? No! Then when using Apple Pay demanded phone number (never been ask for before using iPay). Then app crashed. Reboot NextDoorEatery and finally ordered. What a painful experience.

What a terrible app and a waste of time. NextDoorEatery makes me not want to eat at this restaurant. Why try to reinvent a menu and payment service that is available and already optimized.

Download and pay after every selection. Takes away from the socializing of the table. Terrible idea.

Just have iPads on each table and let the table do group/individual orders.

The fact this restaurant forces you to download an app with no option to open the menu directly in a mobile browser is why they are receiving 1 star. We ultimately decided to leave to as it was impossible to customize a simple burger order.

Having to download an app to order from this restaurant is why I won’t visit again. Not to mention NextDoorEatery Content doesn’t match their in person menu. I get that hard times require creative measures but just use the same tech that many other local restaurants use, aka web version.

Hassle to download when sitting at table. Asks for too much personal info—I just want to order my food. Worse it kept crashing. I was ready to leave when a waiter finally took our order the old fashioned way. Embarrassing that NextDoorEatery is from restaurant owned by a Musk brother. I won’t be back.

Agree with another review - I appreciate the novelty of a self-order and payment system, but was weird to have zero interaction to figure out what’s good - and if you want to start with drinks you then pay - and pay again after your meal (which IMO was way overpriced and way over salted). No sides come with anything but I was not going to do yet another order....meh...

Food is yummy but app is awful! They don’t have the WiFi to support it. Had to delete and re-download app. NextDoorEatery is not worth the hassle.

We use it weekly. The location is part of the table number. The menus are easy to navigate. The wait staff is around for questions and service as usual. Some think it makes the job too easy for a big tip. Seriously, the staff is still welcoming and there for questions. I wouldn’t mind if NextDoorEatery remained an option when things change. As for the tip, I still expect good food, attentive table service, and I tip as before: well.

I’m technologically challenged and I had no problem downloading an app. In fact, I really liked it. Because everything was paid for and done and the food came out super quick and when we are done eating we just get to leave. The service here is amazing. The nicest people in the universe. And the food was excellent. Especially Jeff.

Josh and Walker were the absolute best!!!!! Very courteous and helpful when NextDoorEatery would not work. They were attentive when needing a refill & beyond helpful with questions 🥰

We door dashed and let me tell you the food was so delicious. I’m in love with the calamari was cooked perfectly, we definitely will be ordering again . Thank you for cooking to perfection and packing everything with care

I was worried when I saw the negative ratings from NextDoorEatery crashing. Maybe they’ve updated it since, because our experience was wonderful. App worked great, high quality pics of most of the items, service was super fast because of NextDoorEatery , food was great!

I mean, the cart doesn’t even clear after payment. Payment with a card never actual tells you payment was submitted.
