Minneapolis Skyway Maps Reviews

Tried to use this on the spot. I could literally be standing still and it would shoot my location into middle of street then back again. The calibration is absolute trash. I’d be walking one way but the arrow showing which way I was point was 100% wrong 100% of the time. Sections missing in multiple spots. You can type in a business then it will mark it on map before you hit directions. But if you touch screen at all or try to zoom it will un mark that location you were looking at. And a simple tap on the screen it just keeps dropping a pin. So then you have to go back search the one you want and click it again. It also doesn’t tell you the location of the business. Starbucks for example. It just lists 3 Starbucks that’s it. So it’s guess and check. As the order isn’t always which is closest. Honestly I could prob write a better app in my sleep. Don’t use this it’s trash. Coming from a billion dollar company like Honeywell. Very shocking. They should still to thermostats and coffee makers.

My husband and I were in town for a Vikings game and our hotel connected to the Skyway. Getting to the game without braving the harsh cold? Awesome! However, it’s a somewhat complicated system that doesn’t follow street intersections since it connects random buildings. Here is where MinneapolisSkywayMaps COULD be amazing, like google maps for the Skyway. However, it never found me. I was standing in the middle of the Skyway but it said I was “out of range from the Skyway.” Great! How helpful! Do yourself a favor and just get a map or screen shot one. MinneapolisSkywayMaps is useless.

MinneapolisSkywayMaps really helped us get back to our parked car at 11th and Marquette when we were trying to avoid being outside after Super Bowl Live. The only complaint I had was my compass was pointing the wrong way but that seems to be an issue with the phone and not MinneapolisSkywayMaps . A suggestion: have MinneapolisSkywayMaps run a compass calibration during its first use.

I’m in town for a week, and wanted to use MinneapolisSkywayMaps to help navigate around town without going outside in the >90° heat & humidity. I was hoping MinneapolisSkywayMaps would help, but it made things more difficult!

It doesn’t include all the Skyway bridges, even in the limited area that it covers. Additionally, the map is incorrect in more than one location. Finally, the map is not able to locate me in much of the skyway.

Skip MinneapolisSkywayMaps and find a map to snap a picture of. It will save you a lot of grief.

Why does it need Bluetooth? There is no reason at all to require that. Zero. I can see suggesting having WiFi turned on to help with accuracy but MinneapolisSkywayMaps will not let me open proceed without it. That is stupid.

For such a large company, Honeywell can do better than this. I’d expect more than this for them to put their name on it. It’s a VERY limited map of a minute portion of the skyway network. MinneapolisSkywayMaps struggles to pinpoint your actual location and, other than the major sports venues, doesn’t label major landmarks well. Hopefully there’s more coming, but this is a product that never should’ve been released at such a rudimentary stage.

GPS for the skyways! So necessary, with so many skyways downtown it’s easy to get turned around and MinneapolisSkywayMaps helps with directions and shows you where you street level accessto and from the skyways.

Many parts of the skyway are not covered, or even all the connections between the parts that are. This seems more like a demo/proof of concept for a skyway map app. It’s a beautiful demo, but it’s not really useful until they actually finish it and get the whole skyway map in it.

I will give the creators credit for creating an actual app, rather than just a website with a map, but ... and this is a HUGE but:

1) there is tons of skyway that is not present in MinneapolisSkywayMaps
2) more than half the time, the map can’t find you
3) there is no effective compass

All of which would be helpful if actually trying to get from point A to point B - or for correcting after going off course.

Could have been very useful. Trying to use skywalk to get to the USBank Stadium for a Vikings game from our hotel. MinneapolisSkywayMaps started out fine, but pretty soon shut off. Tried to restart and it kept stating to try again. Never worked after that after multiple tries. Useless.

Ugh!! This is not worth the headache. Don’t use this use Google Maps instead. The location ( you are here) needs lots of help. It makes it so frustrating you end up giving up and asking people for help luckily Minnesotans are friendly.

If you live in Minneapolis, a handheld map is far more helpful. MinneapolisSkywayMaps won't let you search locations outside of the skyway... what's the point?

I was never able to use it so I deleted after trying for a week. It doesn't locate where you are and places are missing. My building is skyway connected but doesn't even show on the map

Looks good for people who are only interested in Target Center, Us Bank stadium and the convention center. But it’s missing everything else

I’m staying at the Hyatt Place Downtown and it doesn’t even show on the map. I can’t use this to navigate anywhere on the skyway. Google satellite view actually works better.
