Manikin: AR Pose Tool Reviews

This would be really great if it gave you an option for create poses without camera, like on a grey background, I do like the “create models from life” aspect but sometimes I just want to form a pose for a character reference without moving my phone up and down like an imbecile for 20 minuets.

Manikin has a great potential. i enjoy it a lot. i was able to make interesting poses to reference! i've always struggled with getting interesting compositions. the features are working fine for me so far.

I've noticed Manikin hasnt been updated for a long time though. dev, i hope you will come back to Manikin again!! i would definitely pay if there were a bit more updates ^_^

some features i would suggest is having a non-AR mode to pose so it would be easier to pose and switch between AR and non-AR. :) Also different kinds of models as well! Like "anime-y" models, "over-muscular-y males" and such

I think this a great tool for artists! Some complaints i have are the model getting lost, i was working on a pose and then i moved around to a new spot, and when i came back she was reset :(. It wasn’t that bad but i wish i could take the model with me if i move around so that they don’t stay in one place! Another thing i have is hat i think there should be a studio mode if an artist doesn’t want the camera to be used, they can just have the model in a blank “canvas” on the phone instead of using the augmented reality!! I really love Manikin and it’s very cool and useful!!

This is a really great tool for figure artists. It has so many features that are useful when need to get a concept for a different pose. It seems like the developers really understand artists needs when they developed Manikin. Currently, they only have a male model you can add in the scene, but from Manikin , it seems like they are planning on adding a lot more models in. Definitely worth downloading!

This is the best tool for the artist who does figure drawing. I like how the body moves when I move the joints. It really deforms the muscles and skin in an accurate way and so makes a great reference for drawing. Manikin really helps me learn faster. Being able to move around the models in a real environment makes it even better!

This really is an amazing app, but it seriously needs an option where you can just take a photo and pose the model on that. please. when you move around at all, the model can be lost, and sometimes Manikin won’t scan the environment properly. Other than that though, this is an amazing app!

this app has helped me be more creative with my art. I've created custom poses that I was not able to find searching online. I would be interested in having more custom poses, rather than always having to create my own poses from scratch.

Seeing the model in 3D space is amazing! When drawing i'm able to have a realistic perspective on the size of the model, allowing my art pieces to be more realistic. Any professional artist could use Manikin! However, i'm looking forward to more models! Maybe different sizes?

By far a must have in an artist toolbox. Being able to have it on your mobile device is extremely convenient. I was able to easily pose a model quickly and get straight to drawing.

Having a female and model is great! Being able to have it all in one scene is even better! Many of the posing apps only allow one model, but Manikin allows you to add as many models in a scene as you want. You do have to pay premium, but it is totally worth it!

It has been a few days since i've downloaded this app. It's a simple experience with great customer service. The developers respond to me so quickly when I had a few questions regarding Manikin .

I love how I can move around and get different perspectives without having to switch into a separate mode and the posing is really quick and intuitive. The controls are easy to use and I can quickly get the pose that I want!

I've been using Manikin to practice my figure drawing. Being able to easily pose Manikin in different positions is great. Having this app on my mobile app makes it easy to create poses anywhere I go. I'm not limited to using a computer.

So opening Manikin, I had high expectations, but instead of being greeted by a high functioning app, I was greeted by a model of a naked woman... the hole shebang! yup! every little feature that defines a woman was included in this model... this leaves me frightened and questioning whether or not the male model includes these features. Manikin did serve a good purpose, but leaves me anxious about how many little artists have stumbled upon this atrocity! I know we all would like detail but maybe this is too much!

Posing the model is simple! I'm able to get a pose within minutes. Being able to move the camera around is easy. The pro features is worth the money!
