Book Breeze - Reading Tracker Reviews

I have been using BookBreeze for at least a few years or so now and I absolutely love it, it’s perfect for what it is and a greatly priced piece as well! I highly appreciate the hard work put into it by the developers, my only gripe is that, as an American user, every year on Autumn Daylight savings time BookBreeze glitches out on that day and refuses to recognize that I’ve recorded any time or pages that I’ve read so that my reading streak resets and will not allow me to correct it so that my reading street will continue on correctly. I still love BookBreeze and I will continue on using it as it is near perfect and simplistic to use, if that glitch doesn’t get fixed I’ll still be using BookBreeze even if the glitch slightly bugs me.

I would also love to thank the developers since it was BookBreeze that got me back into my love for reading and keeping me on track for the last few years after a rough time going through college and losing that love for literature.

NOTE: I am editing this review to add that the developer contacted me quickly after telling them of my concerns. Luckily I didn’t delete BookBreeze as that would erase my previous data. What I did was offload BookBreeze and contacted the developer.

There was a bug during the new year and BookBreeze kept crashing. Then I realized what BookBreeze is missing and what it needs. Data backup via cloud or other storage services!!! It’s a feature I would be willing to purchase besides the pro features. I am hopeful that as future updates come in this will be as good if not better than most bloated and overpriced reading app out there.

BookBreeze is very bare bones but it does what I needed! No extra bells and whistles that I don’t need. Book search might be a great update but I didn’t mind entering all the book info myself since it’s only about four items to enter. For those I’m giving this three stars.

After testing out a book, I decided to purchase the Pro version. I figured I’m going to put a list of the books I plan to read through 2019.

The set up of BookBreeze is really great. I enjoy they focus more of the stats of the reading more than just categorizing.

The biggest thing that is missing with BookBreeze is a barcode scanner to add books to BookBreeze instead of manually adding it in yourself. This would save lots and time in the long run and make make diving into the reading a lot faster.

Other than that, think BookBreeze is awesome.

I would recommend BookBreeze to anyone who reads more than 1 book a month. It gives you the percentage of how far you are in the book, which might by far be my favorite thing because I’m always wondering if I’m 50% through yet. And now I know! BookBreeze also motivates you to read, making you want to beat your best reading streak. Overall I just love BookBreeze ! Great job with making it!

I love BookBreeze! I would love to have an added feature where you can set goals like how many books you want to read in a year, how much time you want to read every day, etc etc. But overall this is a great app to track my reading!!!

Love BookBreeze for the most part. Paid for the pro version but honestly didn’t notice any difference in features after paying.

My biggest complaint is that the only totals you get are two week totals. Sometimes I log multiple sessions in one day, it would be nice to see a daily total with stats. It just gives a current “streak” which I personally find to be the most useless of all stats ( but that’s just me ). Or it gives you current week. I think for $3 or $4 it should give you a daily average/total.

Would still recommend though.

Was looking for a new reading tracker app and stumbled across this one while searching. Just used it for my first book and while it is amazing I wish it kept track daily instead of just streaks. I believe the smallest increment it had was 2 weeks. Will still continue to use and see if any updates get made that make this an even better app. Loving all the colors too....not the two tones most use. Make it more fun to use.

Of the several book tracking apps that are out there, I like your reading statistics the best. Clear and concise, with just the information I want to see! All that is missing is an easier way to track e-books and audiobooks—maybe a percentage read versus pages read option. Also it would be lovely if we could add a cover image directly rather than cut and paste from the Internet.

Pretty useful app that just works. I threw $5 at the developers as I think it is worth that. A bit concerned with no new updates in 2 years.

Would love to see Apple Watch integration where I can start/stop/pause timer on my watch.

Great app. The only issue that I've had is sometimes BookBreeze freezes up when updating my reading. Once I close and reopen BookBreeze , it is all updated and good. Just an annoying aspect.

BookBreeze really motivates & reminds me to read every single day! It’s also great that you're able to see the process/percentage of where you are in your book! Love it!

Great book tracking app. I appreciate the stats and that it allows me to actually better self regulate due to how it tracks and projects things like finishing times etc.
I never thought much about that stuff except “I better hurry up” it helps me be more realistic than that part of me that wants to “DO ALL THE THINGS” and “LEARN ALL THE THINGS NOW!” Lol.

So helps in planning there.

I also appreciate the achievements.

BookBreeze is awesome to track reading. i love seeing my streaks and how fast i’m reading each book. the percentages really help to see where i’m at in the book and where i’m at with my goal. one feature i think would be cool to see is a place where i can put my thoughts about the book and my favorite quotes. this is a great app!!

Doesn’t appear to be working as it won’t let me hit done to save any books. But I like BookBreeze concept. However, they need a section to identify whether or not it’s a kindle, audio, or paper back book. I think I’ll stick with good reads for now.

BookBreeze is a joy to use and I’m actually becoming a more regular reader because of it.

I only read physical books and I’ve been looking for a good tracker and this is it!

For book reviewers, this is a time consuming app to use. You need to upload a photo of the book cover, fill in the title, author, and pages numbers. Their analysis claims to do the rest. For $3.99, you can add unlimited books and see your reading stats in a visual....hmmm

You can do that on Kobo for free with their reading app.

BookBreeze wasn’t worth the download and it’s not worth the $3.99 extra.

I’ll keep search for something better.

Today, it’s all about importing information. If I can import my ebook library or scan using the isbn its a waste of time. Pure and simple.

BookBreeze isn’t being improved, but it needs it! Last update was 2 years ago. No barcode scanner! I’m forced to track bookreading by turning on a timer. BookBreeze is not user friendly imo. Also, the icon notification is stuck on 1. Uninstalling, which seems to be an abandoned app.

It really helps me time how long I have been reading.

Fairly easy to set up, however, it makes you take a picture of the book cover rather than using an online database of book cover photos. If you read a lot of ebooks, you are out of luck. The books won’t add to BookBreeze without a cover photo.

Downloaded and added a book I finished last week. When I add the book it states I finished reading it “December 31, 1969” with now way to change or edit the date. Not very useful if trying to track my yearly readings.

great app. very easy to use and gives me all the information i would want to know about my reading. also encourages me to read more

BookBreeze is almost perfect
The only thing it lacks is two buttons for notes and quotes , good luck guys !

Great app—needs an Apple Watch app to make reading time even easier.

This simple but effective app keeps me on-track with my reading goals. It records all the essential stats — pages read, total time read, etc. — without bogging you down with a bunch of frills. The premium version is an affordable one-time payment, which was much easier to stomach than the $30 annual price of the other app I was using before I found this one.
One suggestion: it would be great if you could enter book titles and cover images by scanning the bar code. Overall, though, it’s a great tool, and I love using it.
