I now have two of the Ambient Weather stations, and they are great. When I got my second station set up it took me only about 5 minutes to connect to AmbientTool . As I discovered on the first station, it’s important to turn off the 5ghz radio on you router while your connecting the station to WiFi. Once it’s setup you can turn the 5ghz radio back on. The instructions do tell you this, but somehow I missed it on the first setup. Second time was a piece of cake!

Had the Ambient Weather WA-2902b for 2.5 years and stayed synced to WiFi with no problems. We recently switched routers and it is literally impossible to connect without reverting back to iOS 10 or earlier. App is SO out of date and must be used to set up the weather station connectivity that you lose functionality. Hardware still connects to the display but remote viewing is never going to happen again. AmbientTool will also not allow you to change the SSID of the router. It defaults to “WiFi” and is uneditable, so you’ll never connect to WiFi.

Used this tool to successfully set up my Wx station and had it working continuously for 3 years. Then one day, suddenly no more connection, no device showing as registered on the tool. Can’t register the device again due to an app issue with WiFi connection. Found a thread online with tons of people complaining about the same thing. Developer nowhere to be found. Hundred of dollars sunk into this product and the developer could not care less whether their app functions well or not.

The fact that this product/app has issues with dual radio signals should tell you something. Even after disabling the 5Ghz network this crappy app would not recognize my network and would only display “WiFi” as the SSID. They don’t even give you the option to CHANGE the SSID in AmbientTool to allow the unit to login to the correct network. Tried multiple times with same results. Would be nice if they fixed this as the weather station itself is AMAZING...just a crappy implementation on the User Interface side of AmbientTool.

I upgraded my 5-year old weather station with one, and got AmbientTool. I had it up and running in a few minutes, and have enjoyed it ever since. It is GREAT to be able to access my weather station info from AmbientTool, and appreciate the detailed data that goes beyond what is on my home display.

I reset my router and I could not get my ws2902 to connect again. It would try to use the ssid Wi-Fi. You cannot change it. I finally changed my 2.5 ssid to Wi-Fi and it connected.

I have an original ws2902. When I recently upgraded my network at home, the latest ambient tool app no longer allows me to change the ssid. Luckily I have an old iPhone5 with an earlier version of AmbientTool which does still work. A shame that ambient will not fix this - forcing loyal customers to buy a new weather station rather than fix a bug is BAD BUSINESS

Good sensors. It lost connection with my router and after many many hours can’t get it back. Support is useless. Every time I call I get a different solution. The last is it is my router. Don’t understand that since everything else works fine and ther is a lot working just fine. Unless you are willing to spend hours frustrated with this system Don’t buy

Unable to even get past the screen asking me to enter my wifi password because it wont even show the name of my network that is currently connected. The spelling mistakes in AmbientTool tell a tale of cheap chinese-made trash with no quality control whatsoever. I guess I’m sending back the whole weather station, I can’t use it at all.

This process will frustrate you to no end. If you’ve already purchased this unit, then save yourself the frustration and accept the fact this unit will never connect to WiFi. If you haven’t purchased this unit, look at a different manufacturer. This isn’t what you want

You must use an iPhone or iPad with an older version of iOS. I was able to get this old app to reconfigure my Ambient Weather device via iOS 12.4 on an iPad mini 2. Now this IoT sensor is working with a new WiFi 6 router that has a different SSID and password. iOS 15 does not work.

I managed to get my weather station set up despite the abysmal interface of AmbientTool. Goodness it needs attention by a professional coder.

Will not connect even when all the settings are correct finally had to go to my computer put the same settings in connected right up. All one has to do is look at all the bad reviews.

Purchased product with sole intent of remotely monitoring weather. App will not recognize my network or allow me to change SSID. Spoke with customer service and they ultimately said there is nothing they can do. Time and money down the drain. Steer clear of this product!!

I recently changed my router and have been trying for days to get my weather station back online with no luck. Every time I try to add a new device and input the WiFi password, it spins and spins and then says ‘Fail’. Yes, it does have the 2.4 ghz channel.

I’m using the WS-0262. AmbientTool made setup, very simple, with step by step instructions.

Newer iPhones cannot configure wi-if on base station, even with 5Ghz disabled. So, old iPhone 5 to the rescue, only natively supporting 2.4Ghz and using older iOS 10.

A company to avoid, it appears.

This operated will with my weather station until the update. Now you can’t retrieve the rain history except on a graph. Horrible.

It does not allow you to see the data from your weather station.

Set up isa real problem. It is touch and go and instructions are confusing.
