Duplicate Contacts Manager Reviews

DuplicateContactsManager generally worked as advertised, eliminating duplicate contact entries. There are however numerous areas for improvement.
It lacks a user manual. The controls are intuitive, but when you are potentially losing contact information it is nice to be sure what you are doing.
It could use more user controls over what it does, e.g., when to scan for duplicates, what types of scans to conduct, field-level controls when reviewing individual merge records.
There is no undo feature.
When I did a mass duplicate removal DuplicateContactsManager appeared to propagate a photo thumbnail from one of the early contact entries to other records that had no photo. It also LOSES INFO when merging, such as data in the Notes field.

I had over 3200 contacts. Some were duplicated over 300 times. This comes from a transition between iPhones past four years. For some reason duplicates happen. I also had an issue with contact recording email addresses with no phone number associated. What a relief to get this all cleaned up. I like the way the numbers, names, and emails are categorized by similarities for selection to merge or to remove. Thanks for making DuplicateContactsManager available. Marv D.

My iPhone 7+ was always slow in searching contacts. Did my research and wasn't able to find solution. And to my surprise it was due to many unwanted Contact's. Had tried many contacts duplicates remover. But nothing worked as this. And since I started using iPhone this is the first time I am ever writing a review to show my support to one genuine app that I discovered and which is absolutely free. Thanks guys

I foolishly stopped DuplicateContactsManager from running in my iPad while it was deleting duplicate contacts. When I try to start up DuplicateContactsManager again, it keeps crashing. Restarted my iPad, still keeps crashing. Deleted DuplicateContactsManager and downloaded it again - still crashing.

Ran good on my iPhone, but is not treating business contact records (those without a first and last name) well. The list just shows blank names under “No names” with no option to merge duplicate business contact records.

Apparently it is so difficult or so absurd an ask that duplicate contacts be cleaned up that Apple does not have a solution for the iPhone.
DuplicateContactsManager does it. Well almost. I had to go thru the exercise multiple times - still beats doing it one at a time.
And the bit about changing the images!

Good app, does the job well. Reduced my contacts by 50%.
Intuitive to use but there could be some guidance ito sequence of merging to follow as it does increase efficiency if done in specific sequence.
There are some issues with resulting names if only one of the name or surname fields are filled in bit nothing serious. Just check afterwards.
There were also issues with resulting name when a name or surname containts brackets - '('.
Check proposed merge when land line numbers are used as switch board numbers will reflect on all contacts for company as you do not want to merge them all.
Ads will be intrusive if merge is managed one by one but it managed in bulk it is no problem.

I went from over 1,000 contacts to 415!! DuplicateContactsManager is a life saver! I only gave it a 4 because it refreshes at every change and takes up unexpected time. Otherwise download DuplicateContactsManager for sure!

Firstly this does a good job of merging contact/phone number with single clicks.

However there are major bugs which still exists
1. Messes up contact photos COMPLETELY. Most of my friends contact is replaced with my photo
2. Same name with different company name is not working well. It should be treated as different contact. Most time people don’t save last name, rather update company name. This <1% of my problem - not a big deal

The good: Firstly, DuplicateContactsManager looks like it works. It was scary to allow it to edit my multiple thousand contact list. But it appears to do a good job. I would pay money for it. But it doesn’t have a pay mechanism. Instead it uses ads.
The bad: it plays it’s ads UNMUTED. You mute it and the next time it UNMUTES it AGAIN. My VOLUME is usually way up because I’m hard of hearing. The jarring volume ads is both shocking and makes me want to delete DuplicateContactsManager each time it does it’s thing.

When using your product to attempt to fix an already bad duplicated contact list and get rid of the duplicates taking up too much space…you merged contacts with ALL CONTACTS HAVING ONE PERSON’S PHOTO!!! ALL OTHER PHOTOS GONE. Attempts to restore now has 12,000 contacts with all of them still containing all of that same person’s photo!! Your support is a non-existent website!! You’ve completely ruined an already difficult situation!

It did exactly what it was supposed to do which was to merge all of the duplicate contacts in my list which for some reason, every single contact duplicated. However, after it was done, it replaced most of the contact pics to the Apple logo. Which is very annoying!

Like the other review, a bunch of my contacts photos were replaced with one of my other contacts photos. It did correctly filter the duplicate info, but it’s a little annoying to have to go back and add new contact photos.

I got several thousands of duplicated phones, names and e-mails on a contact list of dozens of thousands of entries that got fixed by this software reliably and efficiently.
There is nothing better out there! (Period) .

When I try to merge contacts I think it works
All I get is the icon for working. Then I get a full page ad that never goes away. The little X in the corner never works. You can't even turn off the loud obnoxious noise
If I knew that it works I'd buy pro. But I don't really know if it works on merging more than 1 contact.

DuplicateContactsManager reduced the number of contacts on all my merged services from 5000 to 585. Many were dupes placed by other contact apps that supposed to help. Also had Facebook contacts synced which it easily eliminated selectively. Great APP.

Will delete a lot of your contacts forever, and will not do the job ( will not merge or back up contacts ), not sure why noone checks or control FAKE APPLICATIONS to be even available to download, all they do is advertise between fake merging and most likely stolen your info, must be reported to FBI that some companies in INDIA are access our Smartphones with their FAKE AppStore applications, do not download anything from them. Thieves and Liars ! All good reviews are Fake!

Wastes your time & data. It scans my contacts, claims it has merged them but they are still there : duplicated. All this silly app does is to add more irrelevance by now repeating the person’s last name on your phone book. For example: John Gray becomes: John Gray Gray. Ridiculous waste of time. DuplicateContactsManager should be banned from DuplicateContactsManager Store because it does do what it claims to do

DuplicateContactsManager destroyed my contacts list. Totally deleted individuals for no reason while keeping a lot of the duplicates that I was trying to merge. I have been trying to restore it from the backup DuplicateContactsManager made but that doesn’t seem to work either. Deleting DuplicateContactsManager before any more damage is done.

Merged my contacts very quickly and easily.
Contact pictures somehow became very messed up. Must be some bug in the way it merges.

I used this to merge my duplicate contacts, and it replaced most of my contact photos with a random pic of me and my dad from years ago.
Now I have to manually go in and fix that. Not impressed with DuplicateContactsManager , I don't suggest using it.

I honestly don’t know how I was able to build up 16,000 of total contacts with over 400 duplicates. DuplicateContactsManager saved my life and saved so much time. Download it!
