Won't detect the air purifier when trying to pair, even if you start pairing under Bluetooth menu under settings it doesn't detect it. Opened up my 4 year old iPad and it has no problem pairing Bluetooth, but it still will not work over WiFi. It did work on WiFi before, evidently one of their updates broke it.

Five times I’ve connected the Bluetooth Wi-Fi says it was connected and goes right back to the beginning screen don’t know what to do at this time giving up Also going to return it because of this it’s 2022 you can’t get the Bluetooth right your product is not good would not recommend anybody buying this

If there was an option for zero stars GuardianTE would get it. It’s one of the worst apps I’ve ever used. Took over an hour to get it to connect via Bluetooth and WiFi use is a joke. The actual machine is decent when I can actually use it. For the price you would think they would make a working app. Again, zero stars.

This is a very poor app with not much of any features. Not even the basic scheduled on and off feature. It is basically just an advertisement for filter app and for turning on or off. Don’t buy the air filter until they improve GuardianTE .

When I first connect The units to the Wi-Fi both the Wi-Fi and the Bluetooth worked flawlessly. But after several weeks, The Wi-Fi portion seems to forget and I work on Bluetooth. But the Bluetooth only works for a while before it also forgets. My Wi-Fi just recognize the units but I cannot get the units to connect GuardianTE unless I resync everything again. This is either my third or fourth time before I’m no longer really using GuardianTE anymore as it’s almost pointless.

GuardianTE is completely useless. It doesn’t respond when I push a button 95% of the time. I have to push on a button 20x before it will finally change speeds or whatever button I push. It’s easier to just get up and push the button on the air filter itself! I stopped using GuardianTE for that reason, which is why it’s completely useless. If app control is important to you, don’t buy any air filter from Guardian.

I have no idea why GuardianTE was ever developed. Because it does not work. What Bluetooth connection? Forget WiFi asks if you want to link to WiFi then never does. Alexia can’t help until I connect to WiFi. These are good air cleaners. But GuardianTE as a 1.9 rating. GuardianTE does not work. Or the unit does not connect. So WiFi is a total waste of time. I can connect anything to my network. Except this unit. Well it cleans the air. But paying for this feature is money down the drain.

GuardianTE uses a TON of phone’s battery running in the background doing who knows what. I don’t have background refresh turned on for it either, yet still if it’s open in the background it’ll use up to 20% of my battery in a 24 hour period according to the iOS battery settings page. I always have to remember to swipe up and force close it. Horrible app.

Very basic application. For some reason needs your location enabled at all times, but the machine doesn’t come with you, so not sure why needed all the time. Therefore I disabled that access for GuardianTE .

Also doesn’t provide any type of statistics or report. Needs major improvements and not sure if development is only kept to a minimum and not forward thinking.

App broke after update to iOS 13.4, seems like GuardianTE doesn’t support this version. They probably didn’t test for this on the beta and now have to patch this last minute.

I already tried restarting the phone and reinstalling GuardianTE but no success.

Other then that, I’m not giving them just one star because the GUI before it broke was nice. You can see the PM, adjust the fan settings and UV if applicable to your unit which was nice.

Love the air purifier. Great device and I like that I can set a timer, have the device automatically adjust the speed, and control it from another room and my phone. Now, when I am 10 feet from the device with Bluetooth enabled and the device connected to WiFi, there is no reason for GuardianTE to take 8-10 seconds to load. If GuardianTE gets updated and a bit speedier, it would be perfect.

GuardianTE won’t stay open. Downloaded app multiple times.

GuardianTE worked perfectly for about 2 weeks, and then it just quit working. When you open GuardianTE , there is just a blank page. I really liked controlling my guardian products with GuardianTE so hopefully this will get fixed soon!

I purchased this air putrifier with the promise of wi-fi connectivity and remote operation. I do not have a home control system (Alexa, Nest, etc.) but I would like to connect it to my home network.
Unfortunately, I use actual security settings on my home network. After contacting the company’s support channel, they told me that there was no way they could tell me what the internet address of the device was. This means I cannot connect it to my home network as I have a MAC address filter in operation. Or, they suggested I remove that filter, connect it, somehow figure out the MAC address of the unit, and then re-do my settings in my router, many hours later. Or, I could get a second router which does not use any access restrictions. Um, no. I gave up at this point. It’s foolish designs like this that make us suspect that foreign people or groups are trying to invade our privacy through security loopholes and vulnerabilities that us dumb Americans are too naive to realize or notice. Just no.
Bluetooth connectivity works when I am on site and within range, but at that point, why don’t I just haul my (self) over to the unit and turn it on with the old-fashioned control panel?
Isn’t it a violation of some law somewhere to sell someone an internet-enabled device without telling them what the address is?

Why does an air purifier need to know my location?
There's an annoying red mark icon overlaid over GuardianTE if you don't give access to your location.
Additionally, GuardianTE gives an incorrect error message about "are you sure you're actually connected to the internet" if you enter a wrong password.
These are just blatant issues that ought to have been fixed long ago in earlier versions.

I own an older germguardian that was awesome but it stop working all of a sudden but this new one with GuardianTE is cool. If only it told me the PM in the air. I mean if it detects different ones then tell me what they are and if it’s dangerous or not. Now that’s an update I’d love to see. Please work on that cause I love my air purifier and the first question asked when I explain this to someone is “Does it detect what PM is around it?”Thank you and we all need this to ease are minds during the unprecedented time.

GuardianTE would be much better if u had schedules u could set not just a timer I know that’s not built into the device but maybe possible to do within GuardianTE

•Needs a night mode UI ASAP!; I would only use GuardianTE if I didn’t want to get out of bed!
•Scheduled time on/off MTWHFSS
•Apple Watch support
•Local pollen/air quality data integration
•API so I can do as I like
Set up message should be clearer that location on always MUST be chosen to set up. Hope it still works when I turn it back to “when app in use”.
As this was only a few extra dollars than the non-WiFi unit, I’m adding a ★.

Just received my guardian air purifier today. Downloaded GuardianTE and initially used Bluetooth only setting until I bothered to set up WiFi. Bluetooth connected almost instantly and GuardianTE works perfectly fine on my smashed to bits iPhoneX. After putting the device in link mode WiFi took about 20 seconds to set up. Deeply confused by the extremely low rating for what I’ve experienced so far

It does exactly what I want it to do. I have purifier on a dresser so GuardianTE makes it quite easy to turn on and run for a few hours and easily adjust the speed. I usually turn it on as I go up to bed and it automatically shuts off in the morning. No fumbling in the dark. I would like access to the MAC address however.
