It won’t work on my sons ipad

Tried to activate AR but all we got was a black screen with yellow arrow on top and options only to go back to the home page or a square icon that doesn’t lead anywhere.
Tried to get help on a website they recommended www.icarlton.co.uk/help but was rerouted to an online bookstore.
Clicked on app support here but there was no apparent help site.
Very disappointed.
Can anyone help?

Half the time, it doesn’t work. Very temperamental. We follow all the directions and maybe can get one of the nine up sometimes.

This game is really fun. But you need a book called “ocean monsters” to get the sea creatures. I think a lot of people complain about they don’t know how to get the sea creatures.

this app ROCKS! But I want MORE! How about MIGALLO? A NARWHAL?! A BELUGA?!? (Fact: unlike other whales, belugas can swim backwards, too!) BEAKED WHALES, PORPOISES AND MORE! I just LOVE your app! You are so good! Oh YAS! I also want ALL sea creatures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
