This app calculates the sun and moon positions very accurately with an error margin of up to only 0.3°, which is good in most cases, however, always refer to table values for most accurate calculations of solar eclipse and the like, since they require more powerful calculations.
This app utilizes the gps and compass in your phone to calculate the positions of the sun, moon, planets, and stars, so it will not work on a iPod Touch as it does not have a compass.

• Tap on the sun or the moon to zoom in and center them on screen.
Sunset notification can be sent 30 minutes before sunset -- very convenient if you plan on going for a walk to enjoy the sunset.
It will work outside network coverage, and in flight mode, however showing your location as an address requires internet connection.

So I got SunandMoon3DPlanetarium today, and it is very accurate on the planets, the sun, and the moon. However, every time I move my iPad into position, the screen starts lagging like crazy. Sometimes it even kicks me out of my home screen! I recommend SunandMoon3DPlanetarium, but be warned, lacking is included, and a new update as needed.

Useful app but it would be nice if you could see information at a location other than your own.

I do enjoy how the map reflects my location and immediately identifies elements in the sky. That being said, all the other info is VERY scientific, so if you need all those measurements, enjoy all those details, and understand them - this is SunandMoon3DPlanetarium for you.

I like the notifications for sunrise, sunset, and more. The sun and moon data appear reasonably accurate, and go beyond just giving times. The graphics are a nice plus. They help me to easily find planets. Also, I can't complain about the price!
