Rearrange the top pane.

I love Readder. It's essentially alien blue 2.0. The only feature I would like to see in this is the top Menu bar and 3 for menu shown at the top of the screen to be moved at the bottom of the screen. Thereby leaving the top screen bar only with front page. For added benefit the top right and left corners can be used as shortcuts for night mode/change account.

But we definitely do need a lot of the settings actions at the bottom of the screen with a separate bar.

Love Readder though.

Excellent replacement for Alien Blue

As someone who browses Reddit from my iPhone about 95% of the time, a well designed client is very important to me. Alien Blue was previously the best iOS Reddit client on offer, but after no updates since the new official app has been released, it has become stale and full of bugs since the introduction of iOS 11.

At first glance, this app does not appear to be all that different than any other Reddit client. However, the number one reason I like it so much is the level of customization available. You can configure swipe comment collapsing to work exactly like Alien Blue does, which the official Reddit app still does not do 100% correctly. Having good eyesight, I appreciate the ability to shrink font size down to make each page more information dense, so I don’t have to scroll as much. The “card” layout Reddit is pushing these days is ridiculous, especially on a larger plus sized iPhone. Such a waste of space.

I’ve only just begun to work through all of the features available, but first impressions are everything, and I was thoroughly impressed in this case.

Refreshingly good

Great client. I literally have every client available on my phone going back and forth noting features and trying to decide. On or two things of note is everytime I go back to the feed view and want to vote or even comment it asks me to sign in. That's getting annoying quick considering I paid to add the account. While I have no problem with that, it's a stopping point for me. I'm also having some issues with the swiping features not consistently working. That might not be anything but user error, but figuring the real cause is frustrating. Feature rich is the reason I have gladly paid for the use. Keep up fine tuning it devs. Thank you.

This is great but terrible at the same time.

This is still great and terrible, but I have changed my review and rating. Still crashes sometimes and I face glitches, still on the pro version. It still has a lot of great features and it works well on mobile. I still face crashes and such when linking to certain website. The irreversible black screen still comes but is less common. Will change to five stars when issues are minimal. Keep up the good work guys, paying for pro is still worth it though y’all.

I switched from Alien Blue

I've been using the discontinued Alien Blue app for a few years now and this is the closest app I can find to it. I've tried many reddit apps (even the official one) and I haven't liked any of them. I even tried Apollo. this app is Readder for me! I like that the dev is active with the users and adds many improvements over time.

One thing I wish this app had that Alien Blue has is that if you force kill Readder , it will load up Readder from the last place you left off. I would really like that feature in this app.

Apple TV app

I just want to say I don’t use the iPhone version if this all. I’m only using it for the Apple TV.

I like Readder a lot because it allows me to enjoy Reddit without the annoying neck pain I get from looking at my phone or iPad.

I unfortunately have such a hard time getting media to load. I would say 7/10 times it fails to load an article or a video.

When searching reddits or using the random Reddit button I can’t subscribe to them in Readder .

It would be really, really nice if there was a way to zoom in on pictures. Anything with text is pretty much impossible to read.

I really appreciate that we can change the sorted by order and aren’t stuck with Hot only. I also like that I can save posts and access the saved posts on the TV. Being able to read my messages and notifications and respond by dictation would be awesome!

Please give Apple TV users an update on Readder!

Could have been five stars

This is definitely the best iOS app for Reddit, hands down. However, they charge you a one time fee to login to your account. A strange business model, but okay, I paid because Readder is worth it. The problem is it only supports a single device. I bought it on my iPhone, but when I tried on my iPad I was prompted to pay again. If that's the business model, three stars. If I'm doing something wrong, devs please let me know.

Unable to post

Have tried logging in and out and get an error trying to post comments. “Error something went Wrong “

Was able to fix the error by deleting the account and creating the account again .

A+ Developer

Fixed the scrolling issue really fast, it introduced another problem of not being allowed to click on links in comment - but saw on the subreddit the developer already had another update planned out for release to fix.

By far the best Reddit app to use, a lot of customizability and is pretty much everything you can ask for.

Feels like Alien Blue 2.0

It looks like Alien Blue with great new features. Changing subreddits and managing favorites is intuitive and a pleasure to use. One option I would prefer is when tapping a comment, mini icons for upvote, save, etc should appear below the comment like Alien Blue. Much faster and more visibly appealing than a whole menu pop up after long pressing a comment or pressing the option corner of the comment for actions.

So happy!

To see the update for X!! My favorite reader since Antenna! I’ve tried all Reddit apps but I find this meets my needs best. I never really understood the hype about Apollo and feel that maybe it was forced/exaggerated. Reader just has more functionality and has a super efficient UI/feel.

This is my favorite reddit reader on iPad and now so glad to have the update for X!

I use it all the time on my Apple TV, but ...

I’m sorry, it’s overcrowded with settings yet some of the most obvious ones are nowhere to be found or well hidden, also I found myself constantly tapping and hiding comments and posts, which are the actions I never use. Why are they default here?

Yet I have to go up and type three dots to post reply or something. Very unintuitive.

Also, how to change font size for front page?

Refresh

Stop refreshing every time I open Readder . It starts comments from the top, and if I lose service, for example on take off in airplane, I lose all of the comments that were previously loaded. If people want to refresh they can swipe down to manually do it.

Readder is otherwise perfect and the best iOS app for reddit, but this one thing is incredibly frustrating for people that lose service.

Not just the best client, the most responsive developer too.

An excellent and full-featured Reddit client. The developer has been extremely active and willing to implement user suggestions, especially those that mimic the feeling of the legendary Alien Blue. Works well on all iOS devices, including the iPad, where the official app has really fallen behind.

Reloads too often

Laid out well but it’s difficult to get through a single thread without Readder reloading. If your screen turns off or you close Readder for a minute to do something else on your phone on a different screen or in a different app-the page reloads and the thread you were on or the place you read or scrolled down to is reloaded and you’re back at square one.

I wish Readder didn’t reload as often as it does.

Misleading Features List

The very first feature listed here is, Supports multiple reddit accounts. Requires one time In App Purchase. That clearly means that to access the ability to log into more than one reddit account, you have to make a IAP. I tried logging into just one account and it stated I needed to make a IAP to be able to do this. Why not just charge the 2.99 up front? Why mislead people into downloading this only to charge them to actively post on Readder ? I deleted Readder as soon as I saw this.

Love the app, hate the constant crashing

I’ve used this for a year or so, but honestly I don’t know why. It crashes almost every time I use it longer than a few minutes.

Other than the crashing, I like the program.

Good app!

I would like to see more color schemes/options besides night view and white as can be. Also some menus take too many steps to get through. For example to upvote/downvote you have to tap a menu while in the comment section.

Other than those few things it is really worth the cost and in my opinion the best reddit app, coming from blue.

Great App for Reddit

this app is a great client for Reddit. Personally, I like it better than the official Reddit app because it's cheaper and the UI is clean. However, the only thing that Readder is missing is notifications for when you receive messages. If this was added, it would definitely be a Five-Star app.

Good, but Destroys Battery

I love the features of Readder, I've used it for years. I can't continue using it as it completely destroys my iPhone 7's battery, even after installing a new one. I've tried deleting and reinstalling Readder and there's no difference in battery usage.
