I've been asked for emergency contacts many times -- for preschools, childcare, etc. This is fine. No one has ever needed to proactively let my contacts know this.
Except for Trusted. They do NOT warn you clearly that this will happen. This is in tiny gray text, intentionally hard to see.
They have no need to let my contacts know. This is a blatant attempt at viral crap that -- ironically, given the name of TrustedChildCare -- destroys a new user's trust.
Developers: Do not EVER notify someone's contacts unless you are very sure that they have agreed to this. And do not trick them into this, like you are right now. Not cool. Very untrustworthy behavior.
EDIT: They responded to imply that they do clearly ask for permission. No, not really. Their first step doesn’t say anything about notifying your contacts. I don’t know what they’re talking about when they say they ask if its permissible to access your contacts. You mean they don’t jump into my head to steal the information...? Um, okay. Their second step has a note that they will SMS your contacts in tiny gray font at the bottom of the screen. They never “prompt you” clearly. And all of this is in the *setup* process of TrustedChildCare .
Again:
1. You really don’t need to collect this info. Seriously, I have NEVER had anyone else confirm my emergency contacts.
2. You really don’t need to do this upfront. Can’t it at least wait until I actually have set up an appointment? Why, when I’m just browsing TrustedChildCare to see if I want to use it, do you need to go contact a whole bunch of people?
3. NOTIFY CLEARLY AND UNAMBIGUOUSLY. I should have actually agreed to do this.

I’m disappointed at the babysitter that Trusted recommended. From the moment she showed up I didn’t see that she was warm towards my toddler or try to connect with her. After we left the house, I used our nanny cam to monitor her when I finally got a chance. I saw her basically sat there and used her phone constantly, while my daughter was left at the other corner of the house playing/drawing by herself. I was furious. I didn’t pay someone to basically play with her phone in my house in my daughter’s vicinity. I monitored her for quite a while and decided to end our event early (it was my husband’s birthday) to go home. Before I arrived my house, I saw them outside, again, Aniessa was leaning against my other car playing with her phone while my daughter was playing by herself nearby. Aniessa from Trusted is the worst babysitter I have ever had. She doesn’t like children at all. She probably just wants to babysit to earn some quick and easy money. Aniessa’s profile is full of 5 star reviews. So use your judgement carefully when you hire babysitter from Trusted. When I complained this to Trusted, they just apologized but refused to take ownership and issue me any refund. I’m deeply disappointed.

1. There is a 25% of service charge for this service on top of the providers rate that they don't make it clear when you are booking. I only found out when I received the bill.
2. I liked the sitter overall, but I found out after that the sitter let my son play video games before bed, which is a no no for a 9 year old. Normally professional sitters should know to ask before letting a kid play video games.
