After the the 6.4 earthquake happened yesterday morning in CA (Yes, I felt it), I decided to get eQuake. I was hoping it would work. GUESS WHAT. Minutes ago, another aftershock with the seismic magnitude of 7.1 had hit. The whole apartment shook. Immediately I thought how worthless eQuake is. I did not get any alert or anything. Don’t bother getting eQuake.

I downloaded eQuake about 6 months ago, while it’s pretty accurate on showing you quake locations i haven’t received notifications/alerts for quakes. I live in Puerto Rico and on the last 2 months there have been significant amount of quakes affecting the area, but still no alert has been received from eQuake . I have the alerts button on and everything so i guess im gonna look for other app options!!!

eQuake is great at displaying info on quakes but fails at the main purpose of notifying (early warning) of any recent quake. After you feel que quake and confirm it has happened through local news, social media, it then appears in Recent Quakes list, but never received a notification about it much less a warning.

My location is in California. I turn OFF around the world alerts, and set max distance to 500 miles. I'm still getting constant alerts for Iran, Tonga, etc. which last I looked are a lot further away than 500 miles. Too much chaff, when there's no wheat. Annoying.

While it does not work as an early warning system, it does help show trends and activity around the globe. The filters work well, but it glitches easily. It is by far the best quake app I downloaded tho. With a little improvement, it will be excellent.

But I'll try it for a while .. hope it doesn't drain my battery too much. Seems like a good idea. Hope it really works. Scared of getting an actual alert. Yikes 😧

I don’t know if this is just me or not, but my simulation tab keeps crashing for no reason. I don’t know if it is my fault or something else. Other than that, great app!!

Every time I click on the simulation tab, I go to simulate an earthquake, then eQuake crashes and closes when I zoom the map to the west coast USA , besides that eQuake is good

I read many of these reviews and it’s amazing how many people don’t bother to investigate how it works. One person hit the “simulator” button and was surprised by the demonstration warning.
eQuake will only warn you if the shaking at your location will hit a magnitude threshold where your safety is threatened. Several people said they didn’t get a notification during the Ridgecrest 7.1. The shaking at my home lasted 90 seconds and I did not get early warning because it was 125 miles away and didn’t cause damage.

Your app is great! The most important features is the ease of use, multiple settings and layout. Adding a volcanic tab in settings that’s similar to earthquake size and time view as a layover would be great to add

As a hobbyist I can only say I look for this manner of information and more.
Not always easy to find that but still good

Love eQuake. Puts my mind at ease knowing that I may have an extra few seconds before a quake affects me and my family.

Easy to access, I like the map and list features to locate recent activity.

Sometimes eQuake won't open. So I have to delete it then download it again.

I like the idea that I can monitor earthquakes in my area. It has a great map, that shows where all the earthquakes are.

When an earthquake occurs, the Zizmos servers send the user an early-warning notification that alerts the user of expected shaking in the area.
Another feature of eQuake® is its capability to use your phone as a sensor which contributes to the Zizmos earthquake warning system improving the coverage of seismic detection.
Allows the user to simulate Zizmos® earthquake alerts on the phone using historical earthquakes in the vicinity of the current location.
