MusicFirst Student App Reviews

Usually, content that can be accessed through your phone‘s browser is not optimized for a mobile screen. Companies that offer an app realize this and optimize the interface for their product for the smaller screen of a phone when using said app. That is not the case with this one. When I am in MusicFirstStudentApp it feels like I’m in a browser, I have to constantly zoom in on my screen to be able to accurately read and select the items I want, and constantly have to scroll back and forth up and down to find where I need to go. In addition it would be nice if I didn’t have to download separate apps for the different features of music first. There is a lot of potential here, but this is clearly in the early stages of app development. I look forward to their updates.

MusicFirstStudentApp has major problems. I used it for All-Region, and it has crashed consistently upon attempts to record, requiring a relaunch of MusicFirstStudentApp . On one occasion it just froze and deleted my finished recording.

In addition, it has major mic problems. I cannot adjust gain with MusicFirstStudentApp even though my mic has a physical gain switch, and it creates random popping noises in addition to cutting off or distorting my sound. I tried my computer, my iPhone 11, two different external mics (AT2100X and a Blue Yeti), and both work fine with other software, but not MusicFirstStudentApp.

MusicFirstStudentApp has potential to be great software, website included. It could be a huge advancement for music education, and I appreciate what they’re trying to do. However, in its current state, I cannot recommend MusicFirstStudentApp in any manner for any online music education or recordings at the moment.

If I want to make more than one recording, I have to log out of MusicFirstStudentApp completely and log back in before I am able to make another recording.

I had to use this for chorus class. I don’t understand the point of downloading MusicFirstStudentApp instead of using the website, WHICH ACTUALLY WORKS. My teacher said that Apple products don’t work well with the website and that we needed to download MusicFirstStudentApp . I used the website at first because it was easy to use and it worked perfectly fine, but then I downloaded MusicFirstStudentApp on my phone to see if all the reviews are true. I CAN’T EVEN USE MusicFirstStudentApp BECAUSE THE STUPID THING IS STUCK ON THE LOADING SCREEN. When I first downloaded MusicFirstStudentApp I waited patiently for it to load but after a minute or two it just said “Error: The request timed out.” It’s a waste to download MusicFirstStudentApp . Just use the website.

TL;DR: App gets stuck on loading screen. After a minute, it times out. Don’t even bother.

It’s pretty good but I think it’s a little bit picky I am in fifth grade and I’m trying to get my ribbons and the notes are already hard so when ever MusicFirstStudentApp makes my score terrible just because I missed one note is kind of irritating 😠 so I get why this has bad ratings because I rage quit all the time (and obviously so do these people)

I had to redownload MusicFirstStudentApp three times cause it wouldn’t take me pass the loading screen, the amount of effort put into this wasn’t to high, the tuning is off, when singing it says that I didn’t finish and took points off.... I can’t believe that I’m getting graded for this. My only hope is that teachers and instructors see these bad reviews and think twice before grading their student's to harshly before it is fixed

MusicFirstStudentApp has an amazing performance, which helps me record and make ny recordings way better. Thank you for your app, I would recommend MusicFirstStudentApp to anyone who likes music.

I recommend the creators taking more time out of their day to fix the situation. This is not suitable for iOS so this shouldn’t be on tre App Store. This bug is ridiculous. It’s frustrating when your app doesn’t work. Having an app stay stuck at one screen is like turning homework in that isn’t finished. If this cannot be fixed then I suggest it is taken down from iOS App Store.

My sister had to submit a recording for region phase 2 and it was stuck on the loading screen for all laptops, iPads, and iPhones we had. This is the absolute worst app for school. I don’t know why the schools are still using it. It’s also so inconsistent because I didn’t have a lot of problems, still bugs but not anything major. Terrible!

It’s absolutely terrible, and I am really disappointed in MusicFirstStudentApp. The server won’t load and it is super glitchy. Would not recommend to anyone else, but I have to bear with it for all region. OH WAIT. I can’t because it doesn’t even open! They need to get their act together, I can’t lose my band competition because of this nonsense.

This is literally just what you would find on any web browser but slapped onto an app. It is not IOS friendly at all and the text is small. Good luck to anyone in TMEA with the same issue.

At my school we use this program for some reason and no matter how hard I try to get on MusicFirstStudentApp it never loads for me. For a while I thought it was just my phone but I decided to try again after I got another phone with no luck. I don’t understand why the music first app works for some but not others.

Never have I used a music/education application that is so disfuncional and horrible. Not only are load times incredibly long, the apps layout is horrid, the recording system is absolute horrific, and the whole app is basically a simplified web browser. Disappointed that organizations use MusicFirstStudentApp at all.

So I need MusicFirstStudentApp for all region but the recording button won’t even load. How do I record if it doesn’t let me record? I’m gonna try to redownload MusicFirstStudentApp and see if it works because it HAS to work or else I’m screwed. Not sure why TMEA chose MusicFirstStudentApp it’s kind of a bad decision on their end.

I have MusicFirstStudentApp for my band class at school and it’s terrible. It’s slow and takes forever to turn in assignments. It also tells you that you’ve started an assignment already but when you go to the assignment your progress is not saved.

MusicFirstStudentApp has no indication whatsoever about how to even begin logging in. I got all of my information correct, but I can’t use it for anything if the entire screen has no text box. You know MusicFirstStudentApp is bad if you can’t even get past the login page.

Ok, i know I’m sounding harsh, but I waited a full hour for it to load, and it still never even showed the content. There’s almost no reason to have it anymore since it doesn’t do anything! It can’t even load off the title page.

all MusicFirstStudentApp does is crash no matter what I do. I tried following instructions on how to make it work to no avail. My music for the last few assignments I've had on there has been in the wrong clef so I can't read it. It's laggy and overall not a great app.

MusicFirstStudentApp is so buggy and I can’t do anything with it. When I try to type nothing shows up and when I copy and paste a url it still says it’s incorrect. Do not use if you have an iPhone 11.

I have to use MusicFirstStudentApp for region and now for chair test. When I try to record it just loads to about 75% and doesn’t go further. I have tried on both WIFI and data, and it still doesn’t work.

Everything is just horrible and it takes forever to load causing me to panic and sometimes peepee poopoo in my pants. I disagree with everything and I just don’t like it at all and music should be band for students. I really do not like MusicFirstStudentApp and it is just a waste of storage causing me go delete my fortnite app and uninstall the mo bamba album. I just don’t like anything at all and I don’t recommend it to anybody👎👎👎👎

I was playing my xylophone, and what I played sounded like the recording. However, it kept giving me low scores. When I FINALLY got a 93 and played to the end, it said that I “did not make it to the end”, and that my score would be reduced. This has happened to me on multiple occasions, and I strongly recommend you should NOT download until this is fixed.

There are so many problems when using MusicFirstStudentApp and I literally get graded off of this trash app.

Things that need to be fixed:
1. Takes to long to load
2. Takes to long to load
3. Takes to long to load
4. Graphics needs improvement
5. Things need to be more accessible without so much files in a jambled up app
6. On rhythm tapping, I can’t stand the amount of issues that happen and half the time not my fault
7. I get graded on how well I do AND TO DEAL WITH THIS TRASH APP

To conclude, please update like everything because I’m so about to go crazy.

The only problem I had was that I could not hear my self play and my volume was on max plz fix this.

My assignments for band never come up for my phone plus I can never tell if I have a assignment to do because there’s no notifications

Absolutely trash, made my 2001 dell computer catch on fire and set my pet monkey on fire as well. My monkey is now dead and MusicFirst is being sued for the tragedy they have caused to me.
