I am really glad to say that ExportMessages worked! It takes a little extra work to download the corresponding program on your computer, but it was worth it. Didn’t take very long to complete the whole process and it allows you to save your files in multiple file types, which is very handy. Also worth mentioning that it even allowed me to export and save a large number of voice messages - literally voice messages sent via text - I’m not talking about voice mail. Anyway, those saved as AMR files, so I’ll have to convert them to something else or find a way to play that file type, but hey...better than having to transcribe hundreds of voice messages! I needed my texts and these voice messages for legal proceedings, so ExportMessages is a huge help so far! Lastly, my computer really is OLD and ExportMessages and program still worked on it, so cheers to that! Used on March 25, 2021.

So essentially how this works is he program is asking you to sync your phone to your computer and do a backup. It will then pull ALL of your current text message threads from your phone and plug them into an excel file and place it on your computer for you. You do not get to select which text threads are exported. So if you save any texts from people EVERYTHING goes into this export file. You will have to "prep" your phone in advance and delete ALL unwanted texts you do not want in your report prior to running it. It's fast and effective I will give the program that. However, I will it had more ability to select which threads I wanted so I didn't have to delete threads I wanted to keep as reference a bit longer. Thanks

I wanted to thank the developer of this software as ExportMessages is very useful when it comes to data export. ExportMessages is not just export the text message, images, pics, videos...etc but it will also export the data along with time stamp which is commendable and very much needed when it comes to legal requirements. The entire process is very simple and within few minutes you will be able to export all the data. The highlight features are (1) you can select the phone number(s) which you want to export or you can also do it all at once as well (2) you can choose desirable file such as excel, html, and csv..(3) Cost, not expensive and it is worth spending money to get complete data back up and free up space in your phone. Moreover, when you get real or near real time response from customer service. What else we need more from the vendor. This is amazing, and I highly recommend ExportMessages.

Once I figured out where my iPhone backups were located, I found ExportMessages easy to use. It did everything I needed. My mother was ill and I wanted to save my texts over the last several years as a way to record the journey. My phone was so full it wouldn't even take pictures anymore. The text messages, contacts, and attachments are now in three user-friendly formats that I can print if I want. I thought one backup deleted the previous so I contacted support in a panic. The developer of ExportMessages contacted me directly by text to help me understand and locate the different backups. The hard part was finding the iTunes backup, not ExportMessages! I understand it is coming out soon for Androids so your non-Apple friends can use it to. It was well worth the money!

ExportMessages, and also the company deserves 100 gold stars, because they are both so SPECTACULAR!!!! ExportMessages is literally a lifesaver, and I couldn't have asked for better (or faster) customer service. If you need to print your text messages, this is ExportMessages to use. My PC is very old and tired, and had A LOT of issues on it.... Not a problem though, because ExportMessages's Customer service fixed the issues on my computer so that I could use their app!! I have almost given up on the good people and companies in this world, but this company and app has changed my mind and perspective. They are great, and I am going to tell everyone I know about how great they are. Trust me, you are going to be really happy and also in great hands with ExportMessages. I wish all apps were like this. Thank you sooooo much!!!!

ExportMessages is amazing- and a life saver. I needed to export messages for legal reasons and it was very easy to use and quick! Once I backed up my iPhone to my windows PC, I downloaded the export iMessages app and opened it. Browsed to %AppData%/Apple Computer/MobileSync/BackUp where my iPhone backups are stored by default and I was even able to filter messages by contact and it exported them to my local downloads folder in 4 different formats. Easy to read and easy for printing. My only qualm was that it prints most recent on the top rather than from old to new-so you have to read backwards to follow along with any conversation and timeline. But you can use the .xls document and change the sort of you'd prefer-I just wanted it in PDF format. But seriously ExportMessages is the sh*! and I totally recommend it.

ExportMessages 100% did exactly what it was designed and promised the consumers it would do. At first I had a problem getting it done however after reaching out to the publisher he not only FaceTime me but also text to walk me through the process in its entirety to ensure I was rendered the services in which I paid for.

App saved the texts in multiple formats - PDF, XLS and HTML, as well as puts all attachments in a folder for reference as well.

I am an iPhone 8 Plus user and I was looking for an app to allow me to print a text message thread for legal purposes with phone numbers displayed and time stamps. I had some difficulty in the beginning as you need to download ExportMessages to your pc, back up your phone using iTunes to the pc your using in order to access your files. I was using windows 10 and haven’t used my laptop in years, I must say I messaged the developer expressing my difficulties using ExportMessages and given an 11 hour time difference between us, the developer contacted me and was readily available to assist. Luckily with some help from a friend and a different laptop I was able to figure everything out, my issue was mostly caused by an outdated laptop. Definitely recommend ExportMessages!

I got a whim last night that it would be useful to have a backup of certain txt chains and found ExportMessages. It was late at night and the moment I bought ExportMessages I hit what I thought was a wall because it wanted me to do a back up to iTunes before doing anything and I use iCloud for backup. I emailed the developer and went to bed only to wake up this morning to a text from him he had sent immediately last night. I texted back early this morning saying I would try this later and he texted back immediately again. Later when I had time to work on it he was still readily available and walked me through exactly what I needed to make ExportMessages work properly on a PC. ExportMessages is as useful as I had hoped to but the tech-support was truly impressive.

ExportMessages was easy to use, I was happy I didn’t have to give up my Apple ID password. I downloaded ExportMessages from ExportMessages Store, then connected my iPhone to my MacBook Pro via cord. I backed it up the iPhone onto my computer, instead of iCloud. Next I had to download another package from the Internet onto the MacBook Pro . On that program I was able to find the text message thread I needed to download. I had previously selected to have all of my iTunes back ups/text phone back ups encrypted and I couldn’t remember the password for that encryption. I actually did find the password in the keychain from the last back up I did with my phone. I had contacted their support meanwhile and they got back to me within 20 minutes.

I see why some might say this is annoying, but honestly it works great for me. Totally worth the money.

I downloaded this after seeing great and terrible reviews. For the price I figured it would be worth trying. It was confusing to get working at first, but customer support reached out quickly and was able to help me get this up and running. I didn’t know I had to backup the phone after downloading ExportMessages .

It’s actually faster than other software I’ve used for this.

You do not need to put in your Mac Id/username/password. Basically just download ExportMessages to your phone, backup phone to computer, download app on computer, then you’re good to go.

It doesn’t export text in a very aesthetic way, but it gets the job done relatively quickly and doesn’t take up too much space. Attachments are stored in a separate folder but they’re time stamped so it’s actually pretty helpful.

Overall for the money it’s a steal. I’d recommend trying this before spending $30+ on one of the more expensive ones.

My Mac is from 2008 and is slow.

I am a single father going through a court case for custody of my son. Text messages were very important to save and document correctly. (Name, date and time stamp) I also needed it to look professional for a judge. ExportMessages has done exactly what I needed it to do.

Can be a little difficult at first to get it to connect with your phone and computer but if you follow the exact directions you should be ok. I am not a computer guy so it was a little challenging.

I was also impressed with the developer. When I was not understanding something they reached out to me multiple times to make sure I was going it right. Very supportive and wants to make sure you are 100% happy. That goes a long way. Thank you

ExportMessages does exactly what it is supposed to do, although I had some difficulty getting started, as I needed the most up-to-date version of Java and had to backup my iPhone without encryption. I wanted to be able to back up my text messages, simply because I didn't want to lose many of them and had to have a hardware issue fixed on my phone. ExportMessages did the trick, which a little help from their support. Support was quick and thorough. Without it, I probably woulnd't have figured out what was going on, but support was quick, and knew exactly how to get me running. Works perfectly now! Would like it to be easier to get started, but ExportMessages does exactly as advertised. I suggest contacting for support if any issues as they're great!

Upon downloading ExportMessages , I initially had trouble downloading or exporting my texts to my computer. I sent an email and within a couple hours had a response. The guy helped me out first via email, and then through texts and then (originally skeptical) via team viewer on my computer. He worked with me until I finally was able to export all my texts via excel. He then showed me how to filter the messages by phone number. Come to find out, he was in India and it was 4 am his time while he was helping me with all of this. He woke up in the middle of the night to help resolve my situation at 4 am. Great service, great app, does the job right and once you get it set up properly; it works flawlessly. Thank you for ExportMessages.

I have tried several tedious, halfway functional procedures to save messages. None were satisfactory. I like to use text messages when working with contractors. Clear, no question that they got the message, and I have a record of the contact. Only drawback—until now—was that I couldn’t print or forward as an email, the whole thread with dates, times, recipients and text.

Now I have the thread which runs for a month with proof of each message and reply (or no reply) as evidence, if needed. It’s in PDF or html or xls formats.

Only catch was locating the iTunes backup folder on my PC, and Apple support had that info. Great useful app that could save you hours, and for $5!

Was very frustrated not being able to download messages from iPhone. Purchasing and downloading “Export Messages” took only seconds. The instructions were clear, concise, and complete, but didn’t work for me. Emailed tech support. Got a text message back within 24 hours. And the Customer Service Representative (CSR) lead me through the download and save process. The final result presents cleanly the sequence of texts, the number, time/date, and the text of the message in a format that is intuitively obvious and eye-appealing. As a result, having documented the terms of a financial agreement in the text, I can forward to my legal team for further action as may be required. Satisfies my every intent. Well Done!

I won't lie initially getting it set up was a little frustrating didn't quite understand everything customer service representative was outstanding actually went above and beyond talking to me though The whole process. Honestly I don't know if it was me or the program but it was much easier when it was explained to me versus me just reading how to do it. Completely satisfied with this program definitely suggested other people definitely think if you have any type of issue contact customer service great great service. Told him I could kiss him I was so happy turn me down. told me thanks was enough

I read a bunch of reviews before taking a chance on ExportMessages. It's just ridiculous that Apple doesn't provide this basic functionality natively. But, lacking that, ExportMessages is AWESOME. The problems people have had are nothing more than the result of user error, not understanding what they're doing, or perhaps some sort of configuration problem.

I had an issue at first too, but the developer himself called me to walk me through it. I've got hundreds of apps and I've never seen that level of support from anyone.

Here's the overview you must understand in order for this to work.

1. You install ExportMessages.
2. You run a backup using iTunes, as normal.
3. You download and install a PC-based app from the developer, either for Windows or Mac.
4. That PC app is what extracts the SMS content from your backup files, and converts it to HTML, PDF, and Excel.

That's it! It works marvelously and does exactly what the developer claims. I'm happy to have it and I recommend it to anyone.

Although the set up is a little odd, it only took me about 10 minutes to download and set up and it is awesome! I need text string for court and ExportMessages is perfect to store and backup the texts you may need to use in a formal setting. I recommend this to anyone going through any situation that would require text messaging to be used, they can’t be altered and are according to my lawyer perfect to use as evidence. Get ExportMessages! And the tech support is fast, helpful, and very attentive, he even followed up to make sure I had no other questions. I do t know why there are bad reviews, this is an amazing app!

This is right app for you to take a print of any text convesation. Use ExportMessages you never worry about losing sms/imessages/text messages, you can now take backup of all text messages including pictures, videos and other attachments. You can print save or email sms, mms, audio, video and filter messages by contact and date range. I downloaded and used ExportMessages and I felt satisfied. It is very useful.
