2019 and I’m to late :(((

I really want to read it, but SceneMagazine keeps saying “unable to update”

Thanks so much for this magazine Hipstamatic. Been loving collecting all the lenses and packs over the years and the photo booths as well. As a professional photographer, I have to tell you some of my best pics come from using hipstamatic. Seeing your magazine Snaps makes me so happy. There really is such an interesting community you have built.
There are so many photo apps out there, but yours will always be my favorite. Not only because the output of imagery is so great, but your interface is phenomenal. Your graphics are definitely the thing that sets you so far apart from everyone else. And now that you are translating this into a magazine... Wow! Just wow !! Thank you for everything to date. I love you guys!!

I so look forward to the new issue every month. Wonderful Hipstamatic photography, and most of the photos show the lens/film combo and provide a link to more info. A great source of inspiration for my Hipstamatic photos. I highly recommend SceneMagazine.

I'd like it if the articles were a little more in-depth, I guess, if I had to change anything.

I've never had an issue with SceneMagazine crashing or closing.

But it isn't really doing anything for me.

First SceneMagazine itself

I'm not experiencing the crashes others are reporting, but I do find it highly irritating that if I don't read the mag for a day or so it forgets what page I'm on and I have to search for it again. This has happened three times so far. I'm able to read the mag with no problems otherwise.

I don't understand the layout and design. Why would anybody laying out an iPad publication focused around photography create two page spreads with photos crossing the virtual page gutter? That's just idiotic. I don't want to be constantly flipping my iPad back and forth so I can see the two page spread with the whole photo in landscape mode, and seeing two thirds of a photo in portrait orientation and then the other third when I turn the page is just frustrating.

The content

In this first issue it's kind of "meh". Some of the photos are nice, but overall I'm not terribly inspired by it. The articles are sort of hipster, which is to be expected, but they lack a real spark of interest. I'll give it some time to grow into itself, assuming SceneMagazine quirks are worked out, but if the content doesn't improve I won't stick around too long.

This magazine has a great appeal. The issues are that the text is ridiculously small when held in landscape orientation (the way the particular article is meant to be read) and when holding in a certain orientation, there's no obvious way to tell if you should be holding it in the other orientation. I'll be looking at a photo on a page and then rotate to see that i was only seeing half the image.

I've subscribed and can't wait to see what future updates bring.

The articles are great and I'm definitely the target market if the issues could be fixed.

a hip zine for the best photo program on the planet. I wish I could use Hipstamatic on my nikons--it truly brings the fun and pleasure of photography back to us amateur lovers of creative photography. On my last trip thru Europe I think I took as many photos on my iPhone via Hipsta as I did on my SLR's. It turned the ordinary into extraordinary. My iPhone 4 quality is too low for printwork, but because of Hipstamatic I liked these photos better than my Nikon's! This mag captures the essence of Hipsta's playful beatnik artwork. It's only going to get better

I love the content. It's fun on its own even if you don't Hipsta, and if you do, the photos give you ideas for expanding your Hipstamatic horizons. It's nicely done and with high quality design.

But, lets get the coders to work on some basic functionality. You can't archive or delete prior issues to free up space. I guess you could delete the whole app and then reinstall and load just the issue(s) you want, but i give that a D- on the elegance scale. You can't zoom - and they are fond of very small typefaces. We are not talkin' nice-to-haves here: this is essential stuff.

Fix the coding and I'm all in for 5 stars.

For first release is just a pure joy on my iPad 3. Everything is crystal clear with beautiful design! No crashes, no problem reading.

IT IS REALLY FANTASTIC THAT THERE ARE THE CAMERA SETTINGS on each photo! THANKS A LOT FOR THIS GUYS! This way you can have a large library of match settings so to know better your lenses!

I hope every single photo in Snap to have the settings. Great Job. Already a subscriber.

Love this magazine. The content is great and brief (per article) so it's a pleasure to browse and read cover to cover.

For some reason I can't read the newest issue or archived ones. It keeps crashing. Other complaints about archiving and zoom are also just not true. Pinch to zoom, and touch & hold to bring up the archive menu.

Hopefully, they fix the crashing soon because the magazine is excellent!

Over all the magazine is great. Technically isn't as sound as it crashes majority of the time. Mind you they have had so many chances to fix this and still after 14 issues have no gotten around to it. Every time I download a latest issue the stupid warning/new badge alert won't go away on the news stand app. Really? Any other app once you open it will go away. All of my other magazine subscriptions don't seem to have the same alert issue—only with Snap! Fix this problem already.

This is one of only two mags I currently have installed. Most newsstand mags either cost money, usually way too much, or are complete garbage. By garbage I mean that the content isn't interesting and/or the mag is horribly programmed. This mag is well made and the content is interesting and beautiful and FREE. Full marks to these guys and girls. Keep up the great work.

But the crashing, the issues not downloading, ... It's just too much! I LOVE Hipstamatic and Oggle! I love the interactive content! I love the playlists while reading new ways to shoot with new film & lens combos. But god, I hate that I just tried to download the #Fashion issue 8 times, today (and how long did it take to get that issue!?) to no affect. It would "download," but then not open... And told me I needed to download the issue... Again?

So, yeah. I *want* to love Snap! If only I could download & read Snap!

One issue downloaded after nearly two hours and two uninstall/reinstalls of the magazine from SceneMagazine store. Major battery drain! Plus it continues to attempt to download issues forever ... Started one DL of an issue last night with a very strong wifi signal and it was still trying to DL this morning. Good thing i had my iPhone plugged in! Overall the one issue i saw was descent. Not a lot to read, mostly eye candy. As for SceneMagazine , i gave an iPhone and SceneMagazine is a complete FAILURE. SceneMagazine is way too buggy. May work for iPads but not on an iPhone.

I really, really love it. I've been looking at on the iPad. After one issue I downloaded the rest and spent a lot if time savoring every one. I hope there's a new issue out soon. Getting impatient. Also I haven't had the crashing prob but that may be due to it being on the iPad.

As a novice some of it is enlightening to me as a Hipstamatic user but at the same time it's not a compelling periodical to want to read again. I'm not part of the hipster culture and this does nothing to bridge that divide either. I find it more divisive than enriching, in fact. Oh well, I guess I'm lacking culture. Writing is dynamic in its quality. Some seemed top shelf while some was burning with desire to be something spectacular. Anyways I'm not sure what Snap IS and therefore I'm not sure if I want to pick it back up.

I really liked this mag before. However their last edition ended up being just plain porn. Very disappointing going from art to porn. I can see the beauty on the shots but this time it just went to far. I really think they should reconsider what they put out on their next issue and keep their great magazine with tips and articles as to how to become better at photography with hipstmatic rather than adding people to their ranks with pornography. There us a big difference between porn and hip.

I read all of their reviews.... don't why what was the fussed about.... I decided I downloaded to my new iPad Mini 64 GB to test myself. No issues. I didn't use a lots of apps but plenty of room. I like Snap magazine and great features to learn! Can't wait to submit my story one day of these.... good luck! Happy peaceful New year!
