Taking a photo to count pips would be great! The reason I bought DominoCounter , in fact. However, that camera function doesn’t work; and not because of the pip color…it actually will count SOME pips on one domino, but not all. Maybe experimental, but imo shouldn’t have been advertised as a feature unless it does what it’s supposed to do. Appreciate the effort, tho. I’ll buy this if that ever gets fixed. In the meantime, I’ll just add on my own and ask for my money back.

I downloaded DominoCounter just for the dot counter. I ignored the other reviews that stated the dot counter wasn’t accurate and purchased a month subscription (luckily I only bought one month) just to test the dot counter. It simply didn’t work. It counted maybe half of the dots even with a perfect picture.
I was also extremely disappointed that DominoCounter uses a subscription model. Be very careful and ensure you go into your App Store account and cancel the subscription so that you aren’t charged monthly.
Shame on you, Zach Miles.

First off, these ads make DominoCounter ugly and unpleasant to use. Not only are there small ads on the screen at all times, but there’s full screen ads that actually disrupt what you’re trying to do!
On top of that, DominoCounter has crashed many times and makes it essentially unusable! All the dominoes you have added will be lost and you have to start all over...
Although the camera sounds like a cool feature, it is very inaccurate and unreliable to even use...
There are definitely better domino counting apps in DominoCounter Store. And they are cheaper than the “pro” version of DominoCounter, but actually works without issues...

I have had DominoCounter for a while and loved it. So when the update came with the camera counting how could I not be excited. Well that excitement quickly left as I paid the $2.99 which could be the worst $2.99 I’ve ever paid for an app. It’s highly inaccurate and just plain doesn’t work in either count mode. I’ll still use the regular counter but sadly that’s all I will utilize.

I don’t usually write reviews so DominoCounter is that bad.
For one thing, you have to watch an ad to use the camera, very inconvenient.
After watching the required 30s ad I tried multiple times to use the camera to count the very obviously painted dots on ONLY 3 dominoes, and it came up with a different number each time. I tried from multiple angles, plenty of lighting, DominoCounter does not work for camera counting, which is the only reason I wanted to try it. So bad.

This was by far my favorite domino calculator app. I used it all the time! It was a simple, clean design with just enough customization to make it the perfect free app.
But now the update has ruined that. The design is less elegant, there are ads everywhere, and in order to get rid of ads and get the good customization options, you gave to pay. That’s a few steps backwards if you ask me. I will probably be deleting and going for a cheaper app.

I wanted this for the auto counter with camera. In order to try the camera I had to buy DominoCounter or watch long annoying commercials. So I purchased it.
The camera counter doesn’t work at all. On circle mode it counted between 16-17 dots on a domino with 16 dots. But when I pressed the plus sign to add that value to my score DominoCounter when to the background and didn’t add the amount to my scape.
For more, it’s just a $2.99 calculator. Bummed.

I really like using DominoCounter . Despite the complaints the camera count works well enough.
One suggestion would be to make the round by round score tracking easier. A view to see the index or list per rounds scores. It’s a little too easy to make mistakes.

It works pretty good. I paid the extra to be able to change the pip colors to match my set and that was great. Camera often gave erroneous results (maybe from shaky hand). I probably won’t use the camera unless a future update refines it, but still worth the upgrade.
We play double-18 Mexican Train and it would be nice to have the extra three. Of course it’s not hard to add 15+1, 15+2, and 15+3, but there is room to add three more if you reduce the wasted space in the totals window. Maybe something to think about for a future upgrade.

DominoCounter is great and the camera mode works decently. It could probably be more accurate if it had a list of pip configurations that it knows are possible to prevent missing a random one or two. Also, my biggest complaint is the pricing: $20 for lifetime seems kind of steep and a subscription for an app that isn’t delivering new content or something is an odd choice. Instead of getting $5-$10 from me once I don’t feel any option makes me want to complete any purchase.

Loving DominoCounter ! Works great! Don’t Care for the camera mode, misses dots at times. But the input mode is great and accurate!! Only issue I have is pip customization costs money. Wish it didn’t.

I wish there were more colors to be used for this one but I’m sure it and I’m a little confused on how it would work for a lot more than just the white or black ones and the black one would look good with a black one and a blue and blue or blue and red and red would work with that too I don’t really think that is a good idea for a lot of people to do that but I think it would be nice for people who want

My friends and I play a lot of Mexican Train dominoes and DominoCounter has been a very handy tool. I paid for the upgrade and like that I can change the color of the dots to match my set.
The camera tries to count the dots but had trouble when you get more than 20 or so to count. It may be a shaky handhold but I'm not sure.
Either way, if you play a lot of train or need to count scores from other Domino games, this is a great app for adding up your score.

This tally counter is so easy a child could use it. I love playing Mexican Train Dominoes and I am a CPA and can add up numbers lickety-split and then people say o’yeah. So now I’m going to prove it to them with this tally counter.
