SmartBlanket was great and I relied on it for numerous horses. However, now it keeps crashing and has been for 2 months now. I have contacted Smartpak numerous times about this and get the same automated response that their “Smartpak technical guru’s are hard at work to fix this problem”. I have also noticed a few other issues of recent, smartpaks not adding up to the correct amount financially, and they are taking forever to ship anything. Not sure what’s going on I used to love this company but I am severely disappointed and taking my business else where as they don’t seem to care about what customers are saying.

It is too bad that this application crashes before showing the recommendations. It asks for basic information about your horse and where you live, but crashes immediately after that. I tried over and over and finally decided to unload it. I have a 30-year-old horse and I would love to have assistance on the weight of the blanket used on a given day or evening. The winter weather here varies considerably. Last week it was in the low 60’s in the day and 40’s overnight, a couple of weeks prior to that we had a blizzard, and this week it is in the low 20’s during the day and around 9 F overnight with a windchill around 2 F.

This is a fantastic idea and I was excited to see it! However, it absolutely will not let me past creating my horse's info - it freezes up with the "location" info if you try to enter it manually (says "Looks like the location is invalid" or something along those lines), if you can manage to get the GPS search of your location to work then you can hit submit but screen goes black and it kicks you out of SmartBlanket and you can "start over" again but it will do the same thing. Hope you get this fixed soon! Would love to use it!

SmartBlanket hasn’t worked in months! It used to be awesome - it provided perfect information daily on which type of coverage my horse needed according to weather conditions (no blanket, sheet, medium weight, etc). I literally looked at it daily during fall, winter & spring months for the best advhe on how to keep my horse warm & cozy. Now it just shows NA - been like this for months. I know Smartpak is aware of the situation, as per other reviewer comments. It doesn’t take more than a day or two for IT people to fix glitches in apps. SmartBlanket is a big fat disappointment #sorrynotsorry

I was recommended SmartBlanket and, as a new horse owner, I couldn’t wait to use it. However, right after I enter in the information and hit “submit” it simply crashes. When I go back in, it asks me to start over again, asking for my horses name again. I started over many times before finally giving up. I saw a review that said the same thing but was posted last year, so clearly it’s been going on a while without fix. Would love to use it if they ever fix it as it’s a great idea but as of now it’s frustrating and simply a waste of time.

I used SmartBlanket last winter. I had two older horses and a younger one, and it helped give me when I was unsure as I had just moved to a new state and wasn't clear on what to do. This year though I have tried to set up a new horse and update everything, but it kicks me out as soon as I'm finished putting in the location. This is a good app, and it does seem to help some. But last year when I used it I had this problem too. Just not nearly as bad. Hopefully the next update is better, and all us horse lovers are able to use SmartBlanket again.

I loved SmartBlanket last year - had no problems at all. However, since I’ve tried updating with a new horse info, SmartBlanket freezes and kicks out. I’ve downloaded and deleted about 3 times, with the same results.

I had hoped SmartBlanket had been updated, since we just got the “Big Blanket” catalogue, advertising SmartBlanket . However, it still freezes and kicks out of SmartBlanket . Hopefully it will be updated soon, since it’s getting cooler and this horse is being shown over winter. I could use the blanket advice.

I used SmartBlanket last year. It was a bit glitchy (sometimes it would close unexpectedly, you pretty much had to open it twice every time for it to work) but it was really nice to have. This year, I can’t even get past entering my horse’s information. I fill everything out then it flashes the logo and goes black screen. Eventually my home screen pops back up. I have had 0 success getting into SmartBlanket this season and I’ve been trying for weeks.

I thought SmartBlanket was a great idea. A guide if you will of what blanket to use on your horse during certain weather conditions based on where you live. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work. I originally was able to enter my horse’s info. When I needed to edit it would kick me out after completing the update but not update the information. Deleted SmartBlanket and re-downloaded and tried again. Nope. So sadly I deleted SmartBlanket . Hopefully a newer version will come out and I can then try it.

I’ve used SmartBlanket for a long time, but to save storage on my phone I had deleted it over the spring and summer. I just downloaded it again recently and after entering my horse’s info it crashes and will not work at all. PLEASE FIX THIS. I’m not one of these people who leaves bad reviews for everything, I only left one for this because it just doesn’t work at all. I’d love to use SmartBlanket again when it’s been fixed, but until then, it’s no bueno.

I used to rely on SmartBlanket quite a bit. Especially when it is frigid cold, spring or fall. So basically 75% of the year. Since last winter when SmartBlanket would crash I’ve updated SmartBlanket and it actually loads and shows some results. These results aren’t anything close to what I’d follow now though. One day at 51 degrees it tells me no turnout sheet and the next at 55 and sunny it tells me to use a turnout sheet! It would be really nice if SmartBlanket got an update it actually needs so we can use it again. Until then I’ll do it the ancient way....

I used SmartBlanket last year alongside the weather report, and my own feel. It was sometimes accurate. I kinda used it as a second opinion, which I occasionally agreed with.
Tried today, a second time, to use it for this winter, but like other users (I’m sure) it glitches out and won’t even let me complete entering horse info. SmartBlanket just shuts down and closes itself.
I gave it the second star because I used it last year, I’d probably give it three stars IF I could even use it this year.

Last year i used SmartBlanket and it was very helpful! It is a great idea and there aren’t many other ones like it, and i relied on it often last year. I just downloaded it after deleting it to save space over the summer and recently getting a new phone, but now it refuses to accept my location if i type it in manually, and if i use the location setting it freezes and crashes when i click the “get recommendations” button.

The idea of SmartBlanket is great, however I find that the recommendations are not consistent with the weather. Today SmartBlanket says it’s 28 degrees and they recommend a turnout sheet while other days with the same temp they recommend a medium weight! Also, does it assume you have a warm barn if your horse is in at night? My barn is cold and often it says to use a sheet at night when the temps are low outside! Very confusing!

SmartBlanket was helpful last year. This year, SmartBlanket continues to crash, doesn’t update and I am unable to add horses without it shutting down. On top of lesser quality products and incredible slow shipping times, something is clearly going on over at SmartPak. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere until their system in both SmartBlanket and the website becomes resolved.
