So I’ve had dote for about a year now and I feel I can give a brutally honest review. dote is terrible now compared to what I’ve started with. Before, they had all the good stores including Sephora (free shipping with no minimum!) and that’s the reason why I kept dote. Now that’s gone, I’m not even sure why I keep dote. Also, they’ve had some of my favorite stores removed from time to time and I absolutely dislike some of the stores on dote - just a personal preference. You could also try buying something for like $3 but they charge for every shipping individually for each store, so you could be buying a $3 item and pay 8$ shipping from one store, and another item worth like $5, only to pay around $11 cause of shipping. Talk about savings money - you’re actually are spending waaaay more than what you would pay for if you were to directly purchase it from the company’s website. They also have ZERO diversity on their platform. With all these, I feel the cons outweighs the pros, if there are even any. Often more than not, dote is BARELY updated. I remember seeing several companies, such as Lime Crime,!showing they had a sale going on on their website, but when going on the this app app, it doesn’t exist. It’s happened for several stores as well. Some things were out of stock but in dote it still shows, hence why the continuous canceled orders. Seriously. I don’t even know why dote has such good ratings.

Dotes new update is, plain and simple, a scam. I downloaded this app last year and to my surprise was able to get really good deals. I got 3 shirts and a necklace for only $0.45-no joke! using a coupon I had purchased with coins. Before this update, you could get a $10 off coupon with about 250 coins, and free shipping for 100. Now, however, there is no more coupon system. Instead, each item is available to purchase at its regular price or 100x its price in coins. Meaning: a $10 item would be 1000 coins. Do you see what’s wrong here? Before, you could get $10 off for 250 coins, now it’s 1000?? Seriously? To distract people from this, they’ve introduced a new way to get coins- an influencer type system where you upload pictures and if people click on it and buy any of the items your tagged as wearing you will get coins. However, if you’re not already an established influencer it is well near impossible that people will both find your picture amongst the hundreds of thousands and then purchase the items you tagged. Let’s face it: nobody’s gonna search through influencers pictures to find a pink crop top when they could just search it up among stores selling crop tops. This on top of their recent scandal involving people of color in this app marketing has completely turned me off to dote . I hope this app can do better in the future.

ok so, I never ever write reviews. I just had to write a review for dote because it’s so amazing. If you’re a person who dresses trendy, dote is for you! I love the feature where you can add polls and people can vote between which item you should buy. I ordered mom jeans from ASOS and they arrived to my house within 5 business days.
I loved how the this app app had the feature where you can track your package without leaving dote . this app also emails or texts (based on your preference) when your order has been shipped and delivered. I was a little bit apprehensive about ordering from dote because I didn’t think it was legit but it totally is! I definitely see myself ordering more stuff from them for back to school shopping.

So I love shopping, would do it 24/7 if I had the time and funds and dote was like my drug for a while. And I still love the idea, just a few things that irk me are starting to be noticeable. dote uses a rewards program. The more money you spend, the more “coins” or points you get to purchase coupons and other rewards. This was all fine until I spent over 100 coins on a coupon for money off an order at zumiez. I’ve had the coupon for about a month and was finally going to use it only to find out that zumiez is no longer affiliated with this app, making my coupon worthless. I contacted customer support and was told they were looking into it. All I want is my coins refunded. Also, I was purchasing an item on sale for Black Friday and the order went through blah blah blah. The next day, I get the text from this app that the item is out of stock and I was refunded my money. Now, all sales are over and I did not get my item, I understand not being able to instantly tell me if the item is available or not but getting back to customers sooner should be a top priority. I like this app, but recently I have been very unsatisfied. I have yet to hear about my refunded coins.

dote is terrible! I’ve tried giving it a chance but I’m done.
#1: customer service is horrible. Every time I’ve had a problem I always go and create a support request but, they take forever and never actually help you. The first time it was because my tracking number they gave me wasn’t working and I hadn’t received my package. They didn’t answer for 2 days and they told me nothing was wrong with it and that they couldn’t help me. I tried explaining to them that it really wasn’t working and that I needed help but they didn’t care and they labeled my issue as “solved”. The second time I’ve tried talking to customer service was TODAY and once again, they took forever and still haven’t helped me. They finally responded after 9 hours and I’ve talked to 4 people in the past couple hours and they aren’t helping me.

#2: the coupons are just a total scam. They try to make you think that you’re getting $5 off your first purchase and free shipping but that’s not true. They give you free shipping to a place you’re already getting free shipping to and you get $5 off but it doesn’t matter because you’re still paying $10 in fees that you wouldn’t have to pay if you got it directly from whatever store.

I made an order about three days ago, and I accidentally got the address wrong and didn’t notice so I message costumer support they get back to quickly but weren’t helpful, so instead I message brandy and they said they could fix it because it hasn’t shipped but I’d need the full order number for brandy so I message this app and they never respond so I’m still waiting but I’m not sure. As well as saying just wait till it ships with the tracking number and then deal with it, isn’t good advice like I completely take responsibility for getting the address wrong but something more helpful could have been said, then waiting for a problem to occur even before it ships.

Update- they messaged me the brandy order number, and I messaged brandy personally and they fixed my address luckily it wasn’t shipped yet, this was mostly based around my clumsiness but I wish they were a little more helpful instead of telling me to just wait and see, I had to resolve the problem myself which is understandable but I’m glad they got back to me.

So the idea of this app is genius and it’s really easy to find cute and pretty affordable clothes on there. The variety of stores on this app is pretty fantastic and i like buying stuff on there all the time. There is definitely some problems tho, first of all getting good deals on clothes means that you get cheaper then the original price. I got this coupon that takes $14 off the original price so the $21 shirt and $9 necklace only should have been $16. But of course, shipping cost $8!!!!!!! So i ended up paying $24 and my $14 off coupon was pretty much pointless. Like what is even the point of working so hard to get all of those coins just for some stupid $14 off coupon that doesn’t include the shipping fee. I also think that shipping should be a lot cheaper. Like come on!! $8??? That’s more expensive then some of the actual store websites. Also dote is super slow without wifi. I am not always in places with wifi so that’s a little annoying. Overall dote is pretty good and I would definitely recommend downloading it. I just think a few changes would definitely improve dote .

dote has really helped me. I’ve always been really insecure about fashion and clothes. I had (and slightly have) crazy shopping anxiety. But with this app, I’ve been able to see what kind of fashion I like without the anxiety of going to a store. It’s awesome! I joined because my favorite Youtuber, Emma Chamberlain, kept doing stuff with them and I really like her style.

One problem: it crashes way too much. Sometimes, when I want to access dote , it will show the main screen but not load and then go black. I also think dote could improve in other ways. For example: it should be easier to unlike something. Also, sometimes when I’m trying to sign up for a giveaway and it asks me to favorite ~5/10 new things and I do, it doesn’t check it off and I can’t enter.

Overall, love dote!! Maybe you guys could make it even more social by having reaction options. Like if Emma Chamberlain posts something I really like, I can send a heart eyes emoji 😍, and it will appear with everyone elses, kind of like Facebook.

I’m not going to lie, I love dote to pieces! The stores and selections this app has is amazing!! I love that now you can add all the items you want to buy to a shopping cart! I have also discovered so many new stores and styles than from my usual Forever 21 or Hollister go-to’s.

I have ordered a few things from this app, the first item I bought came super fast and had free shipping. I was super impressed and I got hooked. I was racking up $5 coupons from inviting my friends to dote . After that initial purchase, every other single item I have tried to purchase has had a complication and I never would get the item unless I went to the actual brand website to buy it. Also, I have noticed that some items can be a couple scents or dollars more expensive than if you were to buy it on the brand’s website. I looked up that if you find it cheaper somewhere else, they will price match. I asked for a price match and I was granted the match, but then my order was cancelled due to a “complication”.

Overall, a great app, but there is still A LOT that needs to be fixed :)

It’s a good idea but there’s way too many issues. Cancelled orders, misspriced listings, super slow processing times, lack of proper tracking information. Multiple times i placed orders only to then be contacted saying that the listing price was incorrect and asking me to agree to pay a higher price. Every time i went back and checked the listings for days afterwards and they were never adjusted, so it’s either a bait a switch or complete inefficiency. Customer service is completely worthless.....i either feel like I’m talking to a robot or a teenager. One package i didn’t receive at all and they did nothing to help...just continued to send me the same copy/pasted form letter that it can take up to a week after a package is marked delivered to actually show up (i worked in retail shipping for 5 years, and that is 100% not true). So that was definitely my last order. I may still use dote to browse but if i purchase anything i will do it from the stores directly. Often the direct sites have better deals on shipping anyways and you can get totally screwed out of sales. For example right now DollsKill is having a Bogo sale on their site but it doesn’t show up om this app.

This is a completely HONEST review. First off, dote concept is on point. A mobile mall where you have the opportunity to get free shipping, deals, giveaways, etc.- awesome. HOWEVER the execution was absolutely terrible. I ordered from two stores and it took almost a month for my order to come whereas when i ordered previously from the specific store directly it took 6 days. Mostly the issue was the customer service inconsistency. I never received a shipping conformation( even though they argued I did)Their response emails were not helpful and poorly written, claiming that it could take up to six weeks for my package to ship. That is unacceptable considering I could order directly from the store itself. Not to mention the emails had misspelling all throughout which I am only mentioning because of how annoying it is in combo with the other issues. And lastly, they charge when the item ships- which is fine, however, meaning almost a month later I get this random charge from my bank account when(because it took so long to ship) I almost forgot about it. Will never order again

While I wanted dote to be amazing, and thought so at first, I quickly realized I had made the mistake of ordering off of it. The customer service is awful and will not solve your problems, but rather make you even more agitated. While I was looking to be refunded on 3-5 day shipping after almost 4 weeks, they simply said your order will be shipped tomorrow because it was a “pre-order” which was not clear when I bought it. Maybe this was a miscommunication? It is obvious that whoever runs this company is not mature enough to know how to deal with these certain situations, and how to keep costumers even after problems occur. The idea of dote is great, but definitely needs some fixing along the lines of customer service, and obviously are not too concerned about losing costumers after they have your money.

Update: they gave me two different dates that it would've shipped and it didn't ship until 10 days after those dates. When I tried to reach out to let them know at this point i’d rather just cancel the order they shipped it and ignored my note. I will be deleting dote as soon as my package comes :(

I ordered multiple things from brandy, top shop, and one other store. I was a little nervous because of common reviews that I read. Some people had their packages come super late, or missing items, but mine actually turned out good. I ordered my stuff all on Sunday and they delivered them Wednesday/ Thursday. Which is pretty good, because they said 7-10 business day shipping. So honestly, dote is a necessity because the regular shopping you would already do, you can earn coins that could give you free shipping or $5 off your purchase. It is nice to have all of your clothing in one bag, and the highlighted “sale” items. dote is helpful, and I hope my other purchases are just as good. Although, beware that your packages from different stores are going to ship separately, and arrive on different days. And, you may not always be able to track your package if it is not uploaded yet. Be careful with dote but it seems pretty cool!

dote is very difficult and confusing to use. It’s also pretty sketchy that they don’t have and customer reviews so you don’t really have any way of knowing if the item is good quality. I bought a shirt and the sizing chart claimed the large would fit me, when it arrived it was half my normal shirt size, so I’m assuming it was a child’s large even though the sizing chart measured it to fit me like an adult size. Another thing is when you add something to your cart it doesn’t tell you the shipping price until after you’re in the process of buying the stuff and dote does not let you know if items are sold out until after they are purchased. I bought two things from PINK and they were both sold out, I got a text from PINK saying my purchase was canceled and I will get my money back. It has been over a week and I have still not gotten my money back. I contacted this app and they told me to wait 4-10 days. It’s been over 10 days and my money has not been returned.
Overall, I do not recommend buying things off of dote.

At first I was impressed by the easy use of browsing multiple stores at once. However, there are too many issues with it, of which they do not put the customer first.
I have placed orders on dote 4 times over the past few months from various stores. Of these 4 orders, I only ended up receiving one. The other 3 were canceled for either being out of stock (why is it available for purchase then?) or a mislabeled price. Instead of honoring the price you paid, they contact you and ask if you want to pay a higher price in order to get the item or you can cancel it. This is upsetting as you have already paid for the transaction at an advertised price! Plus, if you used an coupons for the transactions they canceled (including credits), you do not get them back.
Overall, it is not worth your time. While it is fun to scroll through, they do not value their customers, maintain what is out of stock, or adhere to common decency with pricing. You are much better off ordering directly from the stores themselves.
