I was impressed with the idea of using my phone as a kick pedal and my ipad as the rest of the drumset but there is a considerable delay when you kick your foot and when the the kick pedal activates. It may have to do with the placement of the phone on my ankle or something. I will keep playinf with it to see if it improves. Overall it's a cool idea but it might need some tweaking. For free tho, it's a cool app.

By far the best drum app I've ever used. The layout is perfect for a mobile device. I use DrumKick just about every day, drumming to songs in my iPod library or on Pandora. My only complaint is the ride cymbal. The sounds are just bad. I've tried adjusting the settings but no matter what I did I couldn't get the sound I was looking for. I would still recommend buying DrumKick if you're considering it. It is definitely worth your money. I just hope the developers would fix that ride cymbal.

I didn't know a drum app could sound so much like real drums…The user settings allow for a truly customized kit that sounds great through headphones or through a sound system. The 'Hip Hop Kit' setting took me back to late 80s hip hop beats (early Beastie Boys, etc). It can be used over other recorded music and I would definitely plug it in for an impromptu jam with other musicians, without having to lug a real drum kit. There is great sound variation on the different pieces of the kit too, depending on where you hit it.

From the look of the kit, the ghost note to rimshot range of the snare, to individual adjustments of each drum and cymbal, DrumKick is complete. Easy to get started but with and features I didn't even know I needed until I starts digging.

I'm not that musically inclined but DrumKick is great for playing around with on my daily commute. There's definitely a lot of polish put into DrumKick compared to other drum apps. Definitely worth the dollar.

Playing the virtual kick drum pedal is achieved by inserting the iPhone (upside down) into a snug fitness band that's wrapped around your ankle, or the front tube of your relatively clean crew sock.
Tap your toes with your heel down, and the iPhone's accelerometer will trigger the kick drum sound on another iPhone or iPod touch via Bluetooth.
• Play the kick drum sound with your foot, using a second iOS device via standard Bluetooth connection.
• Play any of DrumKick's available sounds, using the iRig BlueBoard MIDI Bluetooth or KMI SoftStep foot controller.
• Audiobus & Inter-App Audio support (iOS7+) for adding effects apps to DrumKick's output and recording into to GarageBand, Loopy, or AudioShare.
