Lazy App Creator! Nothing Local!

2025-01-16

ChefsFeed is beautiful but the creator should never have released it until every small city has their restaurant included in it. I live in Redbank New Jersey and we have four and five star restaurants that are packed with waiting lists. We have valet parking and incredible chefs working here. Our Main Street “Broad Street” has seafood cuisine and original dishes that are as good as New York City restaurants. The creators of ChefsFeed or only including cities like New York city Los Angeles San Francisco etc. Cities with millions of people only? What is the creator of ChefsFeed to just copy it out of cuisine magazines or the phonebook? I get better information out of Yelp!!

You wasted my time and I imagine the only way you’re making money with this is from the restaurants that paid you to be on it. I am not going to travel 20 miles for a seafood talk at all when I have incredible restaurants 1 mile away from my house would you failed to include.

Shame on you! You don’t deserve a listing on ChefsFeed Store. If you create an app as beautiful as this one you should include content. That’s why they say don’t judge a book by its cover because your cover is incredible but your contact is empty. Fix your app and I gladly change you to a four or five stars if you were work in.

Waste of space

2025-01-16

First it’s difficult to use. I first tried it with all settings on. It only gave me one place in my city. That one showed up three times & was clearly added by the owner. I looked at list of restaurant types under filters & it is mainly Asian types ... like Mediterranean is not even there much less sub types. So I think it must just be my city. I turn location off. Nope, they really are not there. Then no matter where I try to search it insists I am in Abilene?! & will not allow a nationwide search by any filters or by chosen city. It is never really going to work as the chefs are really just owners or cooks apparently looking for free advertising - not recommending other restaurants. Deleting.

Dreadful! A complete waste of time!

2025-01-16

I was excited to try out the this app app, but from the very beginning it is clearly poorly made and not up-to-date. I put in my credentials in the sign in area and it kept giving me an error message. I rebooted and tried again, and still couldn’t sign in.

The first restaurant I checked out was the C&M café on Riverside Drive in Sherman Oaks. In ChefsFeed it is listed as currently open, but it actually closed two years ago. That is just pathetic.
I have, as you might expect, deleted ChefsFeed . Don’t waste your time like I did!

Not worth it!

2025-01-16

I’m always lookin for new places to eat and drink and took this opportunity to download an app that I thought someone had already done the leg work. I live in tolland county CT and ChefsFeed shows me roughly 9 restaurants in CT and MA. That’s just ridiculous. Just title ChefsFeed where to eat in NYC and LA because you’ve done zero homework or legwork for any other city. Even a google search for each state would be better than what you’ve collected. Don’t waste your time on ChefsFeed

Don’t rely on this if you’re visiting Charleston

2025-01-16

I explored ChefsFeed and realized it’s What’s Hot section is badly inaccurate. The map doesn’t come close to coordinating with actual restaurant street addresses, and the information for local restaurants is woefully out of date. To fix this, the user submits updates to the developer, which would work, but seems as though the developer could make some effort up front. I’ll be deleting this waste of space.

Flooded

2025-01-16

ChefsFeed used to be great. Great recommendations from well known chefs most that follow in the food world would recognize. Now it’s flooded with chefs I’ve never heard of. Pop up chefs and baristas?
Not to diminish anyone’s credibility and recommendations but I came on here to look for recommendations of people that I recognize. On top of that when looking for “hot spots” there’s often just lists and names of places without any recommendation by a chef or why it’s on the hot spot! Almost all the “hot spot” restaurants listed in Palm Springs is just a listing not recommendation.
Man I guess ChefsFeed turned into another yelp. Way to distinguish yourselves Chefs Feed.

Wonky App that tries really hard

2025-01-16

So I get trying to be the anti-Yelp. It’s a nice thought, but ChefsFeed itself is not a great experience. CF needs to simplify what it does and harness the power of more people.

I always have video playback issues on both my Apple TV and phone, which is a real shame.

I do love when I search for dim sum it doesn’t come back with crappy Americanized restaurants, but because everything is “chef recommended” it barely returns any results at all.

At best, ChefsFeed will stear you away from junk food. At worst it’s got too much going on from videos to articles to recommendations, most of which isn’t relevant.

Diet Options

2025-01-16

Not really keen on the “we think you’ll love” section. There doesn’t seem to be any basis on it. Also , why isn’t there diet preferences in ChefsFeed? That is really important to me, because I would like to find new restaurants or dishes I can eat as a vegetarian. I don’t know why this isn’t on ChefsFeed yet!!

Almost there

2025-01-16

We are now getting to some of the potential here. Great premise, great contributors...now, feature them well! It felt a bit thin before. And come check out Lisbon, Porto, and some other great food, wine, and beer happening in Portugal! Be on the leading edge!

The city guides and videos are the best!!

2025-01-16

I love using this app when I’m out of town and want to find somewhere amazing to eat! Yelp reviews just don’t cut it, I never really know who to trust. But these are professional chefs recommending their favorite dishes when they aren’t cooking themselves! Yes please! Their videos are also super fun to watch, not your typical food content! I’m a this app fan for life!!

Massively better than expected

2025-01-16

I kept seeing neat links, but was grumped at having to download an app to read ‘em. Turns out it’s totally worth it. Haven’t loved any food coverage like this for years. Unsnobby, attentive, and the kind of adventurous that leads you to memorable new situations. Killing it, folks.

Trust this app before yelp

2025-01-16

ChefsFeed provides great recommendations from credible sources. Everyone knows that yelp forces restaurants to pay to display their five star reviews. Pick an app that believes in providing credible information by people who have demonstrated a connection to the restaurant industry.

The best Food App!

2025-01-16

I use this app regularly and it always finds us great things to eat and drink. ChefsFeed is particularly useful when I am traveling in a city I don’t know well it is like having a foodie friend along with you to help select what you eat!

Great resource!

2025-01-16

I love ChefsFeed. I’ve been using it since it launched (maybe five years ago?) and love how it has expanded and improved over time. It is a great resource for exploring a new city - or for discovering something new close to home!

Incredibly helpful

2025-01-16

Greatest app when I am traveling or at home. Find the best places to eat for every type of food and price range from people who actually know food, the chefs!!
