Easy simple big meter

Easy simple big meter. Goes up and down with change in volume, useful in gauging volume on any number of things. In my quiet living room meter reading sits/starts at about 40, not sure this is accurate starting point but I can gauge louder spikes in various sounds from there. Plus heck its free!

Best Free iPhone SL Meter

I've tried almost every Free Sound Level Meter and this one was the most accurate when compared to my EXTECH Digital Sound Level Meter. I normally keep it on Slow response and A Weight. Although you're getting readings from the built-in iPhone mic, it is very useful for small situations (i.e. home monitor setup.)

Sound engineer

Nice meter, but sensitivity is way off. The A weighting is 3db low, the B weighting is 10db low, the C weighting is 15db low. I checked with a calibrated Simpson 886 sound level meter. It would be nice if a calibration feature was included so that it could be adjusted to agree with a professional meter. With a C noise level of 50db, this meter says it's 35db.

Working with iOS 9.3!!

It works beautifully! Use this for voice exercises to make sure I'm loud enough. Best program out there!

Used to be great. Not so much anymore

This used to be a great little app. The last update killed this thing. I get no audio and no indication of a signal. Found another app since you've killed this this off... Don't waste your time.

Optimized for iOS 9.3?

Ummm… You all are aware that we are on like iOS 11 point something now right?

Doesn't work with 5s

Loved before; doesn't work with iPhone 6S

I loved dBVolume and used it all the time. Walking around Disneyland, whenever something sounded too loud to me, I'd pull out dBVolume and the volume would be exactly 85dB. I'm sure Disney had their sound engineers make it so; it was also a good test of dBVolume . The readings always felt correct, and helped me decide when to wear earplugs at concerts, or if my kids were playing their music too loudly.

Unfortunately dBVolume does not seem to work on the iPhone 6S, even after upgrading. I made sure it has access to my mic under my privacy settings. I'm blaming Apple, not dBVolume developer, so I'm giving a 5* review for an app I've loved in the past, but I'm posting this so that others are aware of the problem.

It does still work with my iPod Touch, which is iOS Version 9.1.

Gas compressor tech

Working around natural gas compressor stations requires to be aware of the SPL to select the proper noise protection. Although this application isn't a dedicated and OSHA approved, it serves as a good training tool. We have been comparing its readings against the units used by the Safety Department and found no big difference on the readings. Works OK!

Used to be great

I loved dBVolume when I found it. It worked perfectly. I have a youth group and obviously our music can get loud. To make sure it wouldn't get too loud I often used dBVolume. It was a must have. However I tried recently to use this and dBVolume will not work at all. I played with the setting and on weighting it displayed -2147. Needless to say it seems like this has a critical bug. Uninstalling for now to get a decibel meter that works. As soon as this is operational again I'd love to use it!

Great app but nonfunctional on iOS 9

Not working on iOS 9 on iPhone 6. No audio feed at all.

Love dBVolume , but its rather useless right now for me.

Works well!

Tested in quiet room, about 35db sounds right. With radio on mormal volume reads about 50. With radio up, goes up to 65-75db. Doesn't seem to read high like the other apps seem to.

Great db meter!

Just got done with a large format event this weekend dBVolume gave me exactly the same readings as my db meter! One less piece of equipment i need to have with me. It ran great every time i have used it.

Works great!

It's accurate enough and it's free! Hasn't been updated since 2013 though... Developer you still there?

Works good BUT...

App works good but anytime you hold your device in a position other than vertical, an annoying full page ad comes up for some other app. So you can not aim the 'sound hole' at the source of the noise and get a reading.

This is the worlds best app!

We have this annoying bar near us and thanks to dBVolume we know thay are over the nose level law.

Great app!

Loved dBVolume , but doesn't work anymore. iPhone 6s Plus and iOS 9.1.

Works, but could be more accurate.

The A, B, and C weightings are off. I am convinced that the meter is off just a tad bit. I use this on my iPhone 5S with iOS 10. Today I'm writing on March 29, 2017. So yes, it works but with some little improvements dBVolume would be phenomenal.
