I got SketchPad3 and liked it a fair amount. Specifically because it let me zoom in and out. I decided to purchase it to support development. As soon as I paid for it, SketchPad3 started bugging out on me. Every time I attempted to zoom in or out, or even when I wasn't using it, it would go berserk and zoom in or out however far it felt like. Of course I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. This deleted all the work I'd done and still didn't fix the issue. Very disappointed I wasted my money on SketchPad3.

Please fix. Last update over a year ago.

I have an iPad 12.9 first gen. And the screen is not keeping up with me as I write... and I am only at the beginning of my work so there isnβt much backed up in memory.
This makes the product unusable. I would like this if it actually worked but when I write the the screen canβt keep up with my notation... and I am just doing math.

It worked well for me until it decided to move some of the option bars up top and they are now not easily accessible because the ads that are CONSTANTLY there cover them up. Even if you rotate the screen and move them they go back up there when you rotate back. I will use another app moving forward.

SketchPad3 is nice and simple to use. What I don't like is the ad placement. I understand you get what you don't pay for, but the ad displays over the top portion of grid and you loose room to work. Other issues is that when u switch from pen to eraser or any other option you have to keep your finger on the icon and slide to the one you want. Would be more efficient if you could tap and go like most apps. 4 stars if you fix that, 5 stars if you figure out another way to run ads. Can't stand trying to draw and hitting the ad by accident. A splash screen when app opens would be better.

Nice tool but could be better, could u guys add an "enlarge" button for the select thing? So i can start my illustrations small, make them bigger and add even smaller details to them? That would be great. Also, add more pen sizes and colors. Another thing, could u make the coloring more on point? Cuz when I try to draw sum thing as simple as a straight line, it always comes out scribbly, but that could be partially my fault, also, a dotted line pattern would be great. Another thing is could you add shapes such as circles/squares/etc. cuz it's impossible to draw a perfect circle with the tools we currently have. I use SketchPad3 for many things, please keep the updates coming!!

I liked the freehand sketching on graph paper, but wish you could make it draw straight lines, circles, arcs, etc. I only have the free version, but see nothing that tells me what features I would get if I upgraded. I wish apps would come with an instruction sheet explaining the different buttons. It took me hours to find the graph paper background. The line width is too fat. I would to be able to choose my line width. The ad banner is highly annoying, large, and in the way. I have never purchased anything from seeing it in an annoying ad banner.

It's good for writing a grocery list if you don't feel like using paper. But doesn't take class notes or allow for math problems beyond scribbling the one concept or page number you need.
Sketch Pad 3 can't handle more than a few pages of notes before switching tools becomes sluggish and crashes frequently.
It took me 2 months to figure out how to create a custom color or get the import photo to work (which it doesn't, screenshots saved and loaded are blurry beyond usefulness).
Also, it has constant advertisements that (if you have an internet connection) take up lots of processing power meaning folders and new pages take sometimes 5 to 6 seconds to load while your instructor is writing away or you're at a stoplight!
Finally, there is no option to turn of the swiping between apps feature. I like to swipe between other apps and don't want to turn it off. I had to because whenever I used the palm rest the ipad thought I was trying to get to another app I had open. This isn't a problem in sketch book pro which is a little over the top for taking notes.

Okay, i really love SketchPad3, when it is working, it is the best Note Pad editor for iPad I have come across yet; however with this new update there are some serious stabilization issues and I thought it was just my device, but after reading the reviews, i can see that this release doesn't seem to work AT ALL. Even after I saved my files onto my PC and re-installed the program, after just a matter of about 15 minutes, SketchPad3 started to get glitchy and then stopped working altogether, just like everyone else is saying, it crashes as soon as you start it up.
Well, i assume that it's just an minor oversight and that developer's will remedy this soon, and this is why I am not going to rate this low just because an update....however, it it doesn't get fixed, I will change my rating appropriately...

I really like SketchPad3 because of the size limit. A page can be expanded and this is really helpful when I'm working out long math problems. We should be able to scroll through the page by double tapping and dragging across the screen instead of switching from pen and the scroll mode. It makes it easier for the user to move on with their work without having the delay to switch to another mode to move the screen. Please add this to the next update. And I do plan to buy SketchPad3 because ads are annoying.

Sketch Pad is a robust and extremely versatile app very useful for recording information in many forms.
Sketch Pad provides a huge number of page/file types including drawing, rtf, voice, photo, etc. that offer many function types including time stamp, text in drawing, drawing in text, voice recording, font/line size/color etc., etc., etc. - even check boxes.
Very happy to have both Sketch Pad and Fast Finga (both from same developer). Although both very similar, having both apps allows me to separate my research notes and drawings (Sketch Pad) and every day notes and drawings (Fast Finga).
It appears that there are only a few ways to improve Sketch Pad. Including a search function would be awesome for users (like me) with countless, deeply nested folders and files. Adding straight lines and basic shapes like rectangles, circles, etc., to the drawing functionality would also be great. A few tiny, rare minor glitches with cut and paste (where did that extra text come from?) and line spacing on last line (last line spacing larger than others) are not much of a problem at all.
But again, Sketch Pad, and its sibling app Fast Finga, are most excellent apps in almost any and every way you can imagine.
Great app! Thank you.

I used this application to give a chalk talk with my iPad mini. It worked flawlessly and projected well. It was like having an endless dry erase board. I especially liked being able to undock the different pens and colors and have access with the single click. I also liked being able to zoom in and out with pinching gestures. You have to get used to selecting items at bottom of screen (touch then slight drag up does the trick). I purchased the full app because I did not want advertisement scrolling across my lecture. It was a little more than I usually like to spend on applications however this was an excellent choice. Nice job developers. Make sure to keep updates with future versions of iOS.

Just downloaded this today as I needed to make a sketch and couldn't find a pen. I love it, being able to email the sketch, saving it in my photos and also creating folders are amazing features for a free app. I'm using it on my iPod touch and since I detached the toolbar and placed it at the top of the screen, I had not even noticed there were some ads!!! So when I read the bunch of comments from people complaining about the ads, I had to go back I'm there to see what they were talking about. Already recommended SketchPad3 to others!!!

These guys thought of everything in SketchPad3. I mean everything. The flow of things, it's behavior, everything is spot on! The ability to dock and move your toolbars, objects in the image, etc...wow. Looks like every drawing is a vector or floating object because you can really zoom in or out and everything remains smooth, but it never is clunky or cumbersome.
I'm a software engineer planning to use this all the time for scribbling designs and more. As a software engineer, I am very impressed with their attention to detail.
5 stars is not enough.

I've only had SketchPad3 for a few hours and I love it. It has relatively modest pretensions, but as far as I can tell, it delivers on all of them. I really need something that provides the endless scrolling ability of SketchPad3, and far too many drawing or sketching apps I've seen immediately box me into a canvas structure that I find completely useless.
SketchPad3 isn't Photoshop, but it doesn't need to be or try to be. It's sort of an endless, virtual cocktail napkin, or legal pad and that's just what I wanted. Good job.

SketchPad3 does an excellent job of allowing you to make massive and complicated drawings on your phone. I draw in it for my entire daily commute and have managed to create a quite a few things I'm pretty proud of. all in all it's a very simple and cool app that has more features and useful details than I can care to list.
The only problem I can think to mention is a fidgety eraser that can be easily avoided by simply using white pen instead.
-easy to use
-countless features
-awesome

This is still my favorite sketching app over all the other ones I've tried. Just having an infinite canvas size is what sold me. I hated the small and constrained canvas sizes from the other apps.
About the addsβthey don't bother me. Besides, I prefer to detach my toolbars (which is also a great feature) and move them near the adds so it kinda obscures the adds a bit and then I don't notice them as much. The adds are less than a 1/2" thick, so they're not as big as people grossly exaggerated them to be. If it keeps the developers happy then I'm happy because hopefully that translates into additional upgrades in the future.
What I'd like to see in an update:
β’ larger pen width choices (mainly for fills)
β’ being able to set pen transparencies (again, mainly for fills)
β’ and maybe an isometric grid paper background choice

*** Because of bugs in iOS 5, iPad 3rd generation with Retina Display model requires free upgrade to iOS 6 to use this app.
Sketch Pad automatically saves your work on closing the application so you can instantly continue next time you open Sketch Pad.
.... zoom in/ zoom out simply by pinching in any mode, or double tap in scroll mode.
Use two fingers and swipe the screen to scroll in Pen mode.
.... erase all or portions of your drawing or list if you make a mistake or change your mind.
.... unlimited edits of pen-strokes with undo and redo functions.
You don't have to upgrade to iOS 6 if you are not using iPad 3.
Version 3.6.1 had a bug in which ** free ** version crashed.
Best doodle app... simple and intuitive.
It works correctly on other devices with iOS 5.
