STAYAWAY COVID Status

If, in the last 14 days, we have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 and that has shared this information with the STAYAWAY COVID system, then STAYAWAYCOVID will promptly notify us so that we can isolate ourselves and call Linha SNS 24 (808 24 24 24).  Should we test positive to COVID-19, along with the diagnosis we will receive a numeric code allowing us to share, anonymously and through STAYAWAYCOVID , this information with the STAYAWAY COVID system.  The information shared between devices allows STAYAWAY COVID to know the mobile phones one has been close to, how close and for how long.  The STAYAWAY COVID app is entirely voluntary and free and at no time requires access to your identity or personal data.  If STAYAWAYCOVID does not detect any high-risk contacts with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 then it displays that exact message and the date of the latest evaluation.  It is this important step that enables STAYAWAYCOVID to timely alert all those that have been exposed to our contagion, even before displaying any symptoms.  By monitoring your most recent contacts, STAYAWAYCOVID allows you to know, simply and safely, whether you have been exposed to the disease.  Once installed, the mobile phone indicates its presence to all nearby devices using random identifiers, not disclosing any personal information.  STAYAWAY COVID is the exposure notification application for Portugal.  It is an application that runs on mobile phones and is intended to support the country in its efforts to screen for COVID-19.  The World Health Organisation considers that an exposure within 2 meters and longer than 15 minutes to someone with COVID-19 presents a high contagion risk.  No identity is ever disclosed to anyone.  The STAYAWAY COVID APP has been developed by INESC TEC, ISPUP, Keyruptive and Ubirider.
