I downloaded UniversalRemote because it is one of the few universal remote apps that doesn’t collect data. Upon opening, you are spammed with the weekly subscription, access to my local network, and to give it a rating. Well, you wanted a rating so bad, here it is. NO ONE IS GOING TO PAY 3.99 A WEEK FOR A REMOTE!! At least give the use a second to try UniversalRemote before flooding us with information. Especially to give it a rating. You pushed me away before I ever used it. I would pay a single time for a good application for such a trial/novelty. Never weekly. At that point your better off buying the physical device. Do not download UniversalRemote.

Okay, you have to agree to a free 3 day trial before you can even try to use UniversalRemote, which I did and then cancelled right away since UniversalRemote did not work for my TV. But let me say, even IF UniversalRemote did work, I would not subscribe to use it for $3.99 a week. That is just insane. It is a TV remote. You really shouldn’t be making weekly/monthly payments on remote control for your TV LOL. But if you are, you obviously have way more money than I do to throw away.

It’s free to download, but than you have to pay 3.99 a week after that, it does automatically work either.... mine kept searching and searching. Than when I tried to use the buttons on the remote it kept popping up the menu with subscription options.... all those 5 star reviews are bull. BUYERS BEWARE! Save your money and go buy an actual universal remote, wish I had!

Wouldn’t know if this “free” app worked. In the 30 seconds I tried to use it, I was asked to rate it three times and told with every button I tried to press that I had to buy a subscription to use it. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t, but if you’re going to charge to use it, don’t claim that it’s free on UniversalRemote Store and then charge in UniversalRemote .

So we lost our remote so I downloaded this and thought it would be useful. UniversalRemote is free to download! But when you actually get in you have to pay to use it! $3.99 per WEEK?! That’s too much! If they want us to pay they should make us pay to download. Also all the “five-star-reviews” are bots. You can’t just claim something’s free to use on App Store and pay to even touch stuff. I also saw one star reviews (yay 😁) talking about how it’s scamming for money and some of them had developer responses saying “send us a picture of your TV and a screenshot of your problem” I wish I could give it a -10 star review and report this to apple 👿
