We process this information in real-time to give users an alert allowing them to make the necessary decisions to stay safe in the minutes before the wind hits.
As many lake recreational users will tell you, the problem arises when unpredictable sudden weather changes happen on the lake.
Not only will these create rough conditions on the lake but if you are caught unprepared, the winds can knock down sailboats.
Current weather conditions and forecasts are readily available through many free services.

I believe WindyLookout will help me stay safe while on the Utah Lake. Although I have not had a chance to use it it yet. I sure it will be beneficial.
Just a thought you should dial in on places where people actually launch boats. For example Lincoln Beach etc.
Thanks again to the developer. This will save lives!!

We have never had a reliable wind source app while boating on Utah lake until now. WindyLookout is amazing and should be used by all boaters. I believe it can, and will save lives. Thank you!!

Looks good. One bug?
I haven’t tested this on the lake yet but looking forward to it!
I am wondering If there is a bug on the alert history page because the text is double layered when using it on my iPhone 8. I have a screen shot. Will revise rating later. Thanks for making this!

Essential app
Headed out on calm early afternoon from Lindon Marina. We were out for about 30 minutes with winds at about 5 knots then, oh boy, the wind gusted to 26 knots.
Sailing is as they say, “95 percent boredom and 5 percent terror.” We experienced the 5 percent at that point.
When we returned to the Marina we were asked if we had WindyLookout , we didn’t but do now. We use WindyLookout religiously.

Might be a cool app but wouldn’t let me register
I tried multiple times with multiple emails and couldn’t register. The only error i received was, “Unable to register”.
