FAKE! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!
2022-05-29
by Grumposaur Rex
MyFridge is utterly pointless. I thought I’d be able to put in ingredients I HAD, not choose Ingredients from a pretentious list. Some of the options are foods I’ve never even heard of! Hericot vert..? Really. What the crap is a hericot vert?! I wanted help with dinner, not a witches brew. And who just has Adzuki beans (???), bee pollen, nettles, pomegranate molasses and a freaking sunflower hanging out in the pantry?? A sunflower. You really expect me to make dinner with a sunflower. There aren’t any meat options or any normal options for that matter. Then after you’ve sifted through the imaginary ingredients list, the recipe options just tell you how many items you’re missing to make that recipe! I’m sorry but if I’m MISSING 28 INGREDIENTS, I’m just going to get out a box of kraft Mac and cheese. I’m not making a Christmas dinner. I wanted a recipe idea for a Wednesday night. Besides, the grocery store was all out of HERICOT VERT Oh, like others have mentioned, the 5 star reviews on here are fake as sh*t. They aren’t even talking about this crap app, they mention weight loss and logging foods they’ve eaten to track calories... so if you’re going to post fake reviews at least make sure it’s for YOUR app ya dingus. Please for the love of HERICOT VERT, don’t spend 25$ on this crap.
App not working and unsure of subscription

I downloaded MyFridge and I am unable to access anything in the my ingredients section. I type in things and it doesn’t search. There is no available account information so I don’t know if I subscribed to something or not. MyFridge was very misleading. I’m going to delete MyFridge and would like a response in reference to the subscription.
Not As Advertised, and a Scam

1) Have to sign up for/authorize payment for a ‘free trial/then yearly billing’ ($30) to even open MyFridge .
2) Surprise! No free trial, you’re immediately charged the $30 and now have MyFridge for a year whether or not you like it/would’ve decided to actually subscribe.
3) Once you’re in MyFridge (and are now an “Upgraded” user)....you still get full screen ads periodically. Like whenever you want to favorite a random, low-carb recipe....because once you add all your “Fridge Foods” it doesn’t allow you to select any filters beyond having/not having items....you just get random stuff. That’s ok though. Next time you open MyFridge : all your “Fridge Food” you’ve added is gone anyways.
4) If you want any sort of specific diet type meals (ie: keto/low-carb): there’s a whole separate selection window on the left....that spits out random “XYZ” recipes...which take zero account of any of your “Fridge Foods”. (At all....nevermind the fact that it’s already dumped that info 10 times today)
5) Forget about any nutritional info. Just guess! That works, right?
6) Neat idea....HORRIBLE execution, and bait/switch billing.
THIS APP IS A MONEY SCAM

This company is a complete scam. MyFridge asks if you want to start a “free trial” but as soon as you click the free trial, it charges you $30 to your Apple account. There are no options to get refunded the charge and they give you no profile information on MyFridge either. MyFridge doesn’t use ingredients from your fridge to find recipes either. Once you select the ingredients you have, it gives you a random list of recipes. The first 10 recipes listed had NONE of the ingredients I selected and I selected over 15 ingredients. Don’t waste your time or your money. These positive reviews are fake.
I have frequently been able to figure out how to unsubscribe from app subscriptions through my settings. Somehow I was charged for a subscription for MyFridge despite the fact that I attempted to cancel it in my settings. I definitely don’t think it is worth the price which is why I tried to cancel the subscription after I downloaded MyFridge and explored what it was like. It is a good app for what it says it will do, I just couldn’t justify the price when there are other more affordable websites that can do similar things online.
It doesn’t give you the option to put all your items you have on hand

by Sleegar27
Frustrated because I just paid for a year and going out that you can’t add all your items that you have on hand. You can only check off the ones they have listed which isn’t very many. Many of the recipes have many different ingredients that it calls for in one recipe. I thought this would simplify my life but even after i added the ones on hand, it pulled up all these recipes that shows how many items I don’t have on hand to make the recipe.
Pretty sure it’s a scam

I downloaded this willy-nilly and did the trial knowing I would cancel the subscription right after. After canceling the subscription about an hour later I got a PayPal notification I’ve been charged $30. So, of course, I thought I was being scammed. Looked into it and noticed an extra year added onto my subscription date. The weird part is there is no user interface to manage any sort of account -other than in Apple App Store subscriptions. App developer site is weird, no way to contact them. Really really suspect here.
FAKE REVIEWS
2023-01-05
by Biyxtren
Downloaded MyFridge for one reason only. To point out to anyone looking to not waste their time that most of the 5* reviews are FAKE. They have identical text from different users. And not identical like "oh it's a good app" like word for word talking about being vegan, for example. They also have reviews that they put on here that are for a different app entirely. If you're going to fake reviews, PUT THE NAME OF *YOUR* APP. Will be finding a way to report you to MyFridge store and providing them with the screenshots I have taken as proof. Seriously, if you have the time to fake reviews, you have the time to make a better app. Smdh
Beware of Free Trial
2023-02-06
by Dhhdjke
I chose MyFridge to get recipe ideas for food I had hand. I couldn’t get into MyFridge until I selected the upgraded free trial. So I did, then looked at MyFridge and was disappointed that you still need a bunch of other ingredients than the ones I selected to actually make a recipe. I went in 20 minutes later to cancel my “free trial” and it had changed me $30!!!
I tapped on the “free trial” button when I opened MyFridge (I couldn’t explore it until I got passed that screen) but was charged $30 for a year long subscription. I simply wanted to check out MyFridge to see if it was what I was looking for. MyFridge doesn’t have everything I was looking for so I basically paid $30 for nothing and will be deleting MyFridge off my phone. Really disappointed and would like my money back if possible...

The 5-star reviews are fake. Half of them have the same text. They make you sign up for a “free trial” of premium (no way to x-out), and when you sign up for the *free trial* they immediately charge you $30 for the full year premium subscription. Luckily my bank is able to help reverse the charge, but MyFridge is a scam, it’s not even a good app once you use it. Not sure how it’s still in MyFridge Store honestly.
Horrible and fake. Don’t download

by Jenvin55
MyFridge is horrible. Selection of items doesn’t have much to choose from and no meat on the list. Then it brings up a list of recipes where almost all of the items are items you do NOT have. I thought the Point of this was to find dishes that you HAD the ingredients for. And as other users have noted, these 5 star ratings are fake and for a differently named app. Do not download
Scam!

UPDATE: THIS IS A SCAM. DO NOT DOWNLOAD MyFridge. After spending time doing research on MyFridge and its developers, I have filed a fraud report to the FTC. I have looked at other reviews and see that the 5 star reviews are fake, and the real reviews fell victim to this scam as well. The developers website has no contact information, and all links listed to contact them are broken.
MyFridge is misleading and scammed me into buying the yearly subscription instead of the free trial. When you open MyFridge , you can’t use it unless you sign up for the free trial or purchase a subscription. When I selected free trial, I was automatically charged for a full year. No options were given and it didn’t state how long the trial was for. I will be calling my bank and filing a dispute since there is NO way to contact the developers.

Since when did you have to pay for this? Right before I went on deployment with the military it was free but I deleted it for obvious reasons. When I got back home I saw that you had to pay for it. What?
Developer, if you are reading this, please continue updating and continuing on MyFridge, lots of features that could be improved or fixed but all in all, this is exactly what I’ve been trying to find all my life. The search bar doesn’t actually search and as many ingredients as there are, they’re not all there. It’s missing bacon funny enough.

Definitely worth it. You can Even change the perportion sizes depending on how many you want to serve! It even tells you how many protein and carbs are in it wich is very helpful. Truely worth it

I was actually introduced with MyFridge from Nigeru wa Haji da ga Yaku ni Tatsu series even before MyFridge had an English version, so now that it has I'm giving it a go and hopefully MyFridge will continue to recommend beginner friendly recipes for me
I've been using this app for years

I've been using MyFridge for years to help inspire some tasty meal and desserts to feed my family with. I will admit, I did prefer it when recently uploaded recipes where down as a stream, so that I was able to view all kinds of wonderful dishes without having to do the searching myself. I found it helped broaden my scope of ideas to try new cuisines, ideas, flavours etc... Now it's limited to the cold you follow which can be limiting and very samey samey, if you know what I mean.
I would love to change my review to a 5 star review; however, I just downloaded MyFridge today, and my height and weight on my profile has changed 3 times. Every time I've gone back and corrected it, it ends up changing to something else within a matter of hours (and yes, I'm saving the change correc
Great, but...

The concept is great, tons of ingredients to pick from. But also a lot of ingredients not listed, like ketchup, mustard, pickles... when it lists the meals, it does not list them in any sort of order - giving me suggestions where I’m missing out 14 ingredients as my first suggestion. Again, I love the idea, I love that there are tons of ingredients & you don’t max out on how many you can choose - I see the potential.

I love MyFridge. The only semi negative thing I can is that when I got a new phone and signed back in all my favorites were gone, they didn't stay saved on my account. But still a great app with easy, interesting meals.

what's the point of having MyFridge if you have to have an email to set it up. Everything should be housed within MyFridge . otherwise, just make an email-based 21 day course and ditch MyFridge . I did not use MyFridge but I still had to give a rating to post this comment. I'm giving 3 stars to try to be neutral.
Missing key features

by Hoangmaitrang😊
App looks nice but it's missing key features. No Google Fit connection and ability to make your own moments to eat (breakfast, lunch, diner snack are default). It was also not clear how you could set a more agressive plan to lose wait
design of MyFridge is awesome. It’s great about searching specific ingredients/certain types of meals. It consolidates all the recipe info in a clean, straightforward way, so when you spot something you want to try you can quickly see nutritional info, ingredients, prep time etc. from MyFridge , without having to scroll through the actual site

I have found so many incredible and interesting recipes on app. Even ones I’ve used over the years myself. I really enjoy the ability to research so easily. I try a lot of recipes that fall into several different categories. So it’s always a pleasure to come on to MyFridge and be able to research in less time than books, especially when the recipes give you nutritional information that is accurate. But sometimes I don't use MyFridge , the recipe disappears. If you fix it I will give you the 5 stars.
