Doesn’t Work

2022-05-22

I haven’t been able to get CPWFishing to work since downloaded it. It just sits there “authenticating” and never goes off of the login screen. And then when you close it and open it again, all I ever get is a completely white screen. It seemed like it had potential the one day I got to use it.

Terrible inaccurate

2022-06-23

For the most part, it’s a google maps app with “information” on the type of fish in each body of water. The problem is, you’re able to search for areas by type of fish there. That is TERRIBLY INACCURATE! I’ve been in Colorado for 6 months slowly working my way through bodies of water and none of the “state park” areas minus the large ones have bass.

CPWFishing needs updated badly. A 20 second google search reveals more information than CPWFishing.

Don’t waste your time downloading this. It will just take space on your phone.

Great idea; extremely poor execution

2022-07-24

I have had CPWFishing on my phone (iOS 11.4) for 3 months, but have only been able to successfully launch the application once. But even then the stocking report links didn’t work. I just downloaded the update that claims the stocking report links are fixed but CPWFishing won’t launch. Just watching an endless white screen.

Help would be helpful

2022-08-25

Looks like a lot of cool stuff but no instructions on how to use it. Nice try but wait for a future release

Ridiculous on-boarding process

2022-09-26

I don’t know why they attempted to integrate 2-factor security in CPWFishing as though I’ll be trading stocks on here, but it prevents CPWFishing from working at all. It simply spins a pinwheel all day waiting for the “authentication” that never happens. The phone will always fall asleep long before you ever get to use CPWFishing .

I gave it an extra star assuming it may have good info if it were to ever open.

Doesn’t Display As Well on iPad

2022-10-27

On the information page for each site there are pictures of the fish species found at that location. On the iPad, the bottom half of each fish picture is cut off, i.e. showing only the top half of the fish. Also, CPWFishing can only be viewed in vertical orientation.

Refers back to itself - infinite loop

2022-11-28

I’m in the Master Anglers part of CPWFishing and it’s telling me to apply for a master angler using the CPW Fishing App. It literally refers back to itself with no way of applying for a Master Angler record. Please update and have a means to incorporate online Master Angler application for Apple users or other revert back to paper application.

Great tool, info needs updated

2022-12-29

This is a great tool to find places to fish, get information on these locations, and keep track of your trips, but the information needs updated more often. Some of the most current “statewide conditions” information is from a month ago, conditions could’ve changed quite a bit since then.

Stocking report

2023-01-30

You need to work on this part of app. I get either the first two letters of a lake or the report stops somewhere around June 1 or sometime the report just doesn’t come up at all. Also some of the locations of lakes are wrong. Hard to find a lake if doesn’t exist or is in a different location. Full name of lake would be very helpful.

Pretty good

2023-03-03

It’s OK, but updates need to be far more frequent. CPW is always pointing to CPWFishing but the content just isn’t updated frequently enough. It would be nice to be able to purchase licenses, registrations, etc. via CPWFishing .

Needs update

2023-04-01

CPWFishing needs improvement. Add ALL the Lakes, Rivers, Ponds, etc. Update the conditions report faster. Also Update the pick of the week more often & show all pictures not just some & species of fish. Why call it “pick of the WEEK” if it stays the same?

Great but lacks one thing

2023-05-03

Why doesn’t the same login share data on another device???? Would love to see my journal entries from my iPad show up on my iPhone. Am I missing something?

Really nice free app

2023-06-03

CPWFishing is great for being free. I enjoy the feature to log your trips so you can keep track of what is working and not in areas.

I am noticing the lack of locations in some areas. I think users should be able to add locations (at least for themselves if anything). It also would be nice to be able to add comments on locations for others to see to share what’s working etc.

Pretty cool app

2023-07-05

Love the journal.
But the stocking report link makes no sense...just make it the most recent one or two stockings? Scrolling through thousands of pages is not ideal.

Decent app

2023-08-05

Nice app. The journal was a little confusing to learn, but I figured it out. Makes me want to fish more often.

Great offline feature

2023-09-06

Super easy to use, and really appreciated the map caching for the back country.

Great Resource

2023-10-08

I never knew how many fishing locations were in Colorado, let alone how many were near me in Denver. My favorite part is getting to see information on fishing locations prior to my trip.

Awesome app! Other states should do it!

2023-11-08

If they keep this updated it will only get better

Public fishing spots

2023-12-10

The difference between this and other fishing apps is that it doesn’t list private lakes. Which is great because with other ones it would say this location was great fishing, and then when I show up there is private property signs. Now there is no guessing since this comes right from the source. Very glad they got CPWFishing rolling.

Offline info

2024-01-10

It is great to finally have access to offline info while in remote areas. I like being able to log my catches too.

Great Resource

2024-12-17

I never knew how many fishing locations were in Colorado, let alone how many were near me in Denver. My favorite part is getting to see information on fishing locations prior to my trip.
