Leo - Recorder & Transcription Reviews

Simple and easy to use. Unfortunately, there are some major bugs. If you do not edit your recording immediately after making it, you end up with no return key showing up on your keyboard (so you cannot manually add a line). This happens when you go back and select a recording to edit once it is part of the recordings list. I can see where the dev may have done this intentionally, since you can probably add more data by pressing record again in edit mode? But, return key should still be there to add new paragraphs.
When you change themes ( blue for me) and try to edit, the cursor disappears. There is also no way to upgrade Leo (not that I would right now), nor is there any way to contact the dev from within Leo to report these problems. App is also only in portrait mode on iPhone. These problems occurred on both an iPhone 8 Plus and an iPhone 6, both fully updated on iOS and restarted after app installation. Happy to upgrade review if app is improved.

I've wanted to keep a diary, but I never had time. This allows me to keep a voice diary, and writes things down so I can search things. (Ex. "Things related to my crush"). The transcription is mediocre and could use work, but for search purposes, it's fine.

One thing I'd like to see added is a feature where you can edit your recording after you're done, like on Apple's voice memos. That way, you can "rewrite" a portion or add to a part.

I have an 11 year old who is dyslexic and has a slight lisp. Other voice dictation software we have tried did not understand her speech. So far this has worked great! It easily understands what she dictates. Now she can work independently, without having to wait for me to be available to transcribe for her.

Leo really helps me to dictate clinical notes while driving without having to touch the phone after starting the recording. Developer is very responsive to feature requests and fixes aa well.

Overall great experience, very limited recording ability. It’s a deal breaker if I can’t record more than 10 minutes of audio. I’m open to change the rating if the developer supports a longer recording timeframe. It says, “recorder did finish recording unsuccessfully” on save 😩

A perfect way to keep a diary without having to type at the end of my day. It’s like a woody allen movie!

I've always wanted to record my daily thoughts in a notebook, but every time I picked up a pen, my mind would go blank. With recorder, I'm able to prompt myself and "think out loud" without feeling like I'm forcing thoughts. Recorder is now part of my daily routine and I feel more motivated, more aware of myself and more prepared to take the world by storm!

This is the only voice to text app that works when there is no Internet connection. When Siri doesn't work, when Dragon anywhere doesn't work, and with a myriad of other voice to text apps don't work, this one does. And for that reason I considered to be indispensable.

I really needed this. Great for school & work! I use it to record class and for quick notes at work.

Seems like this might be OK for shorter things, but somewhere after about a minute and a half, it stops transcribing from what I can tell. So for longer things like journals or dreams or whatever, not super useful. I also can't really tell what the workflow is here. It seemed to just stop after finishing the one recording and I can't figure out how to get it to even play back what I recorded. I'm not going to spend five dollars trying to figure it out either.
