So Marline is great. I live 25 min. from the ocean so this helps with tides and moon phases. My 2 minor complaints are they the forecasts are kinda inaccurate. It’s been incorrect with the clouds the past few days, temp is accurate though. Maybe switch to OpenWeatherMap as a weather provider? My other complaint is that it doesn’t work in the Arctic. Marline goes back to the home screen but it’s not a major loss because I don’t live there.
Additions: You have moon phases so you could make “moon days”. For example: Solar and lunar eclipses OR the names of the full moons.

Useful app over many years. Easy to use and understand, gorgeous to view visualization.

First off, Marline is beautiful hands down. There is no question about that.

However, when it comes to actual FUNCTIONALITY. This is where Marline fails. All I want to do is check what the weather is and what the weather will be later in the day. One of the feature lists out that it shows hourly weather but I don’t think this is the case??? I’ve literally spent forever to find it and alas - nothing.

The developer responded to one review saying that there was a tutorial uploaded but where is it? This seems to be all lies and kind of sketch to charge a customer to invest in app that literally doesn’t do what it says it does.

I’m very confused as to why there 100+ reviews and 4.5 star rating. Please help me out.

Marline looks absolutely gorgeous. Though, as a weather app I would expect it to be more comprisable with “smaller” locations rather than LA or Chicago. It’s a wonderful idea, and it looks beautiful. But the lack of instruction and flexibility to find your accurate weather and to even navigate your way through Marline is incredibly frustrating.. especially when you have to pay $1.99 for it.

I love Marline it’s very simple and easy to use but when I try to change the location it keeps going back to the original one.

I had difficulty with turning the 24 hour clock to a 12 hour readout, and got an immediate email telling me how (tap it). I love the simplicity and elegance of the screen. Totally worth 99 pennies.

awesome app! It’s my daily weather app! Couple of thoughts. You shouldn’t have to put in a beach. Not everyone lives by the beach. Second, Marline crashes on the third day forecast.

Snap shot of your favorite beach or harbor showing the tides for that specific location.
A must have for beach enthusiasts & tech’s that need the answer at the tip of their fingers.....

I am perpetually stuck on a loading screen, and have been so for the month that I’ve owned Marline. It looks really beautiful... I just wish I could use this.

Nice app, missing a huge feature. It’s now 2017 and iOS11 and still no widget. Weather apps need a widget feature to be useful. No one wants to open an app just to see the weather. Get with the program guys.

Marline is very attractive but the tidal information is completely wrong. No matter where I am, it’s 100% incorrect.

App would not locate me either manually or letting Marline find my location.

Wind and tide info doesn’t exist apparently. Not very intuitive.

this app is one of the best weather apps I've seen in a while. From the smooth gradients all the way down to the minute details I can guarantee your eyes will be thanking you. With a great user interface and an intuitive design I couldn't help recommending Marline to everyone I knew. The only thing that would be better is a quick look card when you swipe left on the home screen. Overall this app is well worth its price and certainly a relief on your eyes.

While this (portrait only) is attractive in a minimal way, it does not provide enough/accurate information compared with many other weather apps. Some screen elements are a mystery (like the pulse that sometimes surrounds the sun) and there are no help files that might tell you what this means, if anything. You swipe up, you swipe down, you swipe from the left, you swipe from the right . . . And is that all there is. There may be buried treasure here, but I need a hint and there is no help screen. It is the only app that has actually crashed my iPad upon launch. Not much there inside its pretty little head..

Edit: In response to the developer's message I have deleted and the reinstalled Marline . My criticisms more or less are the same. Pretty but not terribly informative. The developer says there is a tutorial, but I couldn't find in Marline , possibly because of the minimalist interface. Also, I have noticed that once you have established your location, Marline automatically choose the nearest ocean location. What it chose for me was a location high up the Hudson River; this place may experience tidal level changes, but I want Boston. If I change it to Boston, Marline thinks I now live in Boston. I thought I could split the two locations, so perhaps I have forgotten how.

Others seem to love this, so I guess my expectations were for a different sort of program.

As a Meteorology major, I find little bugs with almost every free weather app. I've paid for many and I still have found many things I don't like about them. This is the only app that's not only aesthetically pleasing, but informative and easy to use! I wish you could change the clock to 12 hour mode and not 24 hour, another thing I would improve is adding a widget, I use them all the time and it's so helpful to be able to swipe and easily check the weather. Especially when you want to know quickly before you head out of the house. For a .99¢ app this is totally worth it! I love that it gives you high and low tide as well as the moon phases. Beautiful beautiful app!

Great weather app. Love the simplicity of it. I contacted the developer about possibly adding a widget and notifications, and he responded saying those would be added soon. The only thing Marline needs is a little tutorial, at first I was just clicking buttons and swiping randomly to figure out it's features. It's not complicated though.

Marline doesn't do ANYTHING that the pictures show. I cannot get the Moon tides, no 7 day forecast, in fact, there is NOWHERE to interact with Marline at all!!! I wanted to change Celsius to Fahrenheit and you don't have ANY pull down screens. All I can get it to do is show the temperature, sunrise and sunset. Not even what the Moon is doing. The new update is worthless, it didn't change ANYTHING!!! Don't waste your money on this, as it doesn't work on only 1 screen with information you really don't use. We live in Hawaii, and to fish, it's essential that we have the moon tides. Creators of this, PLEASE tell me how to access all these wonderful features you say it has!!!

This may be the best looking weather app I've seen, ever. The animations are nice and the design is incredibly simplistic. However, I wish there was a 4th horizontal page that showed an extended forecast, at least 5 days. Three days simply isn't enough to keep this as my main weather app. If the developer could somehow add a fourth page and give us just a little bit more information, I'd force everyone I know to support Marline. It's seriously beautiful.
