Much better app!

Much better app than the previous one. It looks cleaner and more modern! However, I am missing the preview to my accounts. Can this be added on? It’s a pain having to wait to log into my accounts. A quick preview would be nice. Thanks!

Can’t see my current outstanding money

I liked the other app because i was able to see how much money i had after spending either credit or debit. It was a lot easier to manage my money.
With this new app I can’t see anything that has been debit and the new balance remaining.

Would Love to Log In…

Can’t log into their “updated” app—I know my credentials are correct because I can log in using the EXACT same username/password. I even tried using my credentials for the previous app just in case, but that was also a no-go. There is no indication of who to contact for support on the log-in screen, making UFCU functionally useless.

another warning not to use UFCU

Just don’t do it. The constant closing and changing of UFCU and the website make it impossible to access money at critical times. Across all platforms, I have been unable to transfer money or even connect to non this app accounts. It simply does not work. They have had issues from the very beginning. Seriously, STAY FAR AWAY. I can not access

I'm supposed to be able to use the same username and password for the website and mobile app, but I can't access it in any way.

There is no “reset or forgot password” option. How am I supposed to access the new app?

I can no longer access my account

Since the change I can no longer access my account. I am unable to enroll on the website. I have tried to do so using my phone, my laptop, and my PC. Always the same result, an erroneous message stating that my information cannot be verified even though it is most certainly correct and I have tried entering it in every way possible. When I called this app for support, they could not help me access my account and were very rude. They told me that they had no problem logging into my account. Nevertheless, I am unable to do so. Maybe THEY entered something incorrectly into their system because I certainly know my birth date and how to spell my name. The unhelpful representatives on the phone would like to believe otherwise. I can not access my money and was flat-out told that none at this app would be able to help me. I spent all day calling different representatives until eventually this app blocked my phone number and I can no longer call. They’ve locked me out of my money and refuse to help me. I’ll be refinancing my vehicle elsewhere, withdrawing my money, and closing my this app account after over 10 years of being a patron.

I’m really not sure what the benefit is

It’d be really cool if it was actually working.

I struggled with the forced change because the university revoked college emails for alum, which wasn’t supposed to happen if under the data limit. They have always used my mobile as a backup verification method, but to re-enroll… not an option. Got that worked out with support. Go to log in with new verification - website glitches out several times. I try the next day, it’s successful. BUT after going through and setting the exciting new code and face ID, it then does not actually work. Which is made only better in that the site also is not working properly for login now.

For a brief window today, I could actually see my data. Now, I’m considering changing banks because this just isn’t worth it.

Terrible

Honestly, all UFCU does is change the aesthetic. If you’re happy with that, good for you. I’m not. They removed so many features and basic functions. I can’t see my accounts at a glance anymore. It doesn’t tell me when loan payments are due anymore. It doesn’t tell me how much I owe a month anymore. When you go pay, it only gives you a manual input option. UFCU is sleek looking, and that’s all it has going for it. Absolutely hate it. Despise it actually. If it’s not gonna give me basic features that the older app had, I might as well just delete it. It doesn’t do me any good anymore.

Almost perfect

UFCU looks way better than the old one and has better functionality. That being said, none of the transaction history is in order. This drives me NUTS since I use my transaction history to budget on a separate spreadsheet. I have to spend excessive amounts of time deciphering the order that I transferred money or made a purchase. Please fix this.

Useful but should be better

I like that I can finally see and use all my accounts at once. I like that I can login with faceid.

I don’t like that transactions are not ordered by time within days. I don’t like that I can’t see pending transactions. I don’t like that it makes transactions all branded and bubbly (I acknowledge I’m the weirdo on this one I guess).

Old app way better

Looks nice, but prefer the old app WAY better.
1. Doesn’t have the quick overview anymore
2. Can’t see my vehicle or credit card accounts anymore. Which is why I loved the old app, it was so quick and easy to pay those as well as always know the balance.
3. Can’t see pending payday deposits like I always could the night before a payday
There’s a lot to improve before the aesthetic of UFCU is worth it.

Please make an option to remove corporate logos from my transactions. It’s hard enough to see the transactions (dates, vendor, charges, and running balance are not in ordered columns, despite all common sense) without the added feeling that I’m scrolling through advertisements. Could also do without the “US” in front of *every single* dollar amount. Is there really a danger I’m going to suddenly forget which currency I use?

WORST BANKING APP EVER

Literally have not been able to log in to the mobile app despite multiple password changes and re-log in attempts. There’s no actual function to UFCU other than viewing your accounts at a glance. I’d rather wait in a bank line for 24 days with no water or sleep than use UFCU

“ new” Online banking app 👎🏽

This new “updated” app is trash- the old one was better. Doesn’t show my transactions or updated amounts in my accounts but I am getting email confirmations that payments got processed.. waiting to talk to someone to confirm my account isn’t compromised is taking a long time too.

Poorly thought out changes.

There was nothing wrong with the old app, it just looked worse. With this new app they're missing functionality that the old one had. You can't transfer to other this app members on UFCU any more. You can no long view your balance without logging in. And a couple other things as well. I'm tired of businesses sacrificing function for aesthetics.

Convenient, just need to get use to it

Not all my bill pay got transferred to this new app but I like how I can see almost all my accounts on one log in. It just may get some time to get use to it.

I do not like it

So what the old app was beta, it got the job done and it was earlier to look at and find your transactions. Items like bill pay and transfer were easier to locate. You could easily tell what was a deposit and what was a withdrawal once inside your account.
Inside the old app it also contained your account numbers, which was very helpful. The old app also allowed you to select a preview of your funds without having to login in an insanely time saving feature.
I super hate the White background, it is extremely hard to see the thin set font and now I never want to login to UFCU . It’s nice that everyone is following the herd with this new app, and I’m not saying the old app was perfect, but this new one definitely isn’t either, nothing to toot horns over.

App not working

I haven’t been able to successfully set up the new app. The old app kicked me out randomly, I called customer service. They told me that there is a new app. That was over a month ago and I haven’t been able to sign into the new app. It states that my credentials are invalid but I’m able to log in the online service just fine. here it is November, and I’m still not able to log in UFCU . I don’t mind logging in through the website on my phone but I would really like to have fast and easy access through UFCU and unfortunately I’m not able to experience that. Every time I call no one is able to figure out why UFCU isn’t accepting my log in. I’ve been told to update my iPhone I’ve done that, I’ve been told to clear my cache Nothing works.

Miss some features of the old version

The biggest feature I miss is when you fist log on it would bring up all accounts and show due dates and minimum amount due on that date… also now when you go to pay on a loan or credit card it still doesn’t show the minimum due or give you any other option but to enter the amount you want to pay… I am old and have several accounts so I don’t remember how much each one is so I have to go into the account I am working with to see what my last payment was so I know how much to pay… I also am not fond of the whole layout… I wish I could use the old app and not have to deal with this one…

Clunky and loss of features

The new app and website are clunky to navigate. Features I use regularly aren’t in as intuitive of a place (previous app and website were very intuitive with maybe two features that seemed out of place or hard to find…now the labeling of features and their locations don’t make as much sense), transactions aren’t as easily searchable as they used to be (the detailed search for date or amount seem to be available but they don’t work) and I can’t write memos on my transfers anymore (which means I’ve had to create additional documentation in a separate place). Very disappointing but I don’t have a choice but to continue with UFCU /website.

Face recognition and other fails

After setting up facial recognition in one situation (poor lighting) it wouldn’t recognize my face and now it won’t allow me to use face recognition. Doesn’t seem to be a way to add it again, so I’m forced to use a passcode. Also bill pay is confusing and I’m unsure if it actually worked. Also it wasn’t connecting to a third party app and because it keeps having communication issues with UFCU YNAB it won’t allow text verification and instead will only allow email. I’m not sure it’s better than the prior version. I’ve had more issues since I started using it.

Very good upgrade.

UFCU is way more modern than the other one. This has more features and more efficient and more reliable than the other app. This one seems more up to date. I have not had any problems whatsoever. Thanks this app y’all have made me happy and proud to be appreciated and made comfortable with your quality of security.

Very poor user interface

There is so much white space that you can’t see all the information available all at once. I can only see three transactions on any given screen. Transactions are not ordered by most recent. Instead I have to scroll down to get to the most recent information.

I am on my children’s accounts. I can remove those from my main screen but when I try to transfer money, those accounts are available in the list and I have to scroll through a ton of accounts to finally get to the bottom where my checking account is available to select. Really?

When I tried to pay a bill on my computer, there is so much white space that the modal pop-up doesn’t have room on the screen. I had to maximize my browser window, or plug-in my big monitor, or decrease the size of my window to even see the submit button.

I hope this app did not pay a lot for this new system because they did not get a lot of useful functionality.

Bill pay doesn’t work like the old app

Things I like about the new app: easier log-in. I can easily transfer money into my children’s accounts.
Things I don’t like: Hard to navigate. Cannot customize the Home Screen so I have multiple accounts listed and it’s way too busy. The bill pay did not work. I set up two payments and they sent ME the checks, instead of the mortgage and credit card company. Thanks this app. Now I get to deal with a late payment issue. I never had this issue with the old app.

Finally what this app should have always been!

This is an app I can use. The old one was frustratingly limited. & I used it only a couple times to deposit checks & then deleted it & used the web version.

App is a downgrade

I don’t understand why this app made us (members) “upgrade” to the new app when instead it removed a lot of features the old one had. I like the modern look. Definitely can see how it’s easier to navigate but I don’t like how we were forced to “upgrade” to this new app just to have a lot of features removed like, transferring funds to other this app members and looking at accounts at a glance instead of logging in just to name a few. I hope the developers improve UFCU…

Form over function

Update: To the developer who responded: I appreciate your response, but you've provided me no way of contacting you other than the normal credit union contact page. 2) You don't need to speak with me. The feature is very obviously missing in the latest version.

Notes can no longer be added to account transfers. I'm not using UFCU until that feature is reimplemented.

Missing functionality

No way to sort transactions. No easy way to view youth or other linked account information. 2FA is only by the email you used when you set up your account, which is a PITA compared to text message. You can’t edit your profile information online. Loan payment due dates are difficult to find. I can’t figure out where to download copies of my bank statements or tax forms. The logos next to transactions are visually distracting and not useful.

Slow and behind the times

This was supposed to be an improvement on the previous app but it’s disappointing and feels like a step backwards. Things that should be persistent are not. For example, each time I log in I have to select the method - fingerprint or PIN. The old app remembered what I last used and I didn’t have to reselect each time. Same with selecting the account I want to view. It should remember the last one and default to that selection. These seem like simple operations and there should at least be a setting where I can opt into these as preferences. I mean, it’s great I can access both of my accounts with one log in but supremely frustrating that I have to make these selections EVERY TIME I log in. UFCU is also much slower than previous. Too bad they’re discontinuing the previous app. I’d rather go back to that one.

Miss the old app

I know you guys probably switch to a new company to have your app done but I’m having nothing but issues logging into UFCU . I already reset my password and enrolled no problem. It worked yesterday when I did it but tried logging in today and no luck. It says unable to process your request please try again. It only gives me my pin to and face log in to do so. It also takes a good 30 seconds for it to load my face icon or pin to put it in. I’m running iPhone 15 with a current up to date. I have 1.6gb/sec router delivering fast speed and no luck. I also took WiFi off with perfect bars and no luck. So not the signal or phone. Please fix UFCU soon.

Horrible downgrade

This “new” app is horrible. It’s 10 steps back from what we had. I miss the old app. First, transferring money to other this app members is extremely difficult and you might as well use other apps to send/receive money. It’s so slow and oats for everything. I can’t log out and log into my husbands account without completely erasing my whole log in info and setting it up all over again. It’s such a pain and not user friendly. Paying off loans you have to go into the loan and check the details to see the exact amount you need to pay. It doesn’t automatically input the amount you have to do it manually. I dread having to log in and look at it because it’s just so slow and NOT USER FRIENDLY.

Much better!

UFCU is so much better than the old one. The old app looked like something from the 90s, this one looks way better, much more modern. The way UFCU is organized is way simpler and easier to understand. I also haven’t run into any bugs, whereas the old app was very buggy. The only thing I miss is being able to view my account balance at a glance without logging in. But everything else about UFCU is great.

Next time there’s a technical issue

I hope this app alerts everyone first instead of hours and hours after the fact. Let us know what’s happening in real time. I thought the entire time it was my phone not working and went through so many unnecessary steps just to find out it was a statewide app problem. I spent money transferring funds instantly because my account wasn’t displaying accurate numbers. So this “technical” problem took $15 from me all the while my money was actually in my account. Today on the first of the month, when SO many bills are due for people, was the worst day to not have access to your account information. Awful.

Disappointed

UFCU was never necessary. Since the change, there’s been nothing good about it. Transferring has caused me problems the whole time. When you try to transfer it’ll take forever to load, then say error, then when you try again it’ll either work or continue to say error but then end up transferring every single time you tried even when it said error so then you have more than what you needed.
I don’t like that it doesn’t show how much your car payment or credit card payment is due either anymore when you go to transfer from your account. The whole thing is just a downgrade.

Loan month balance

Why 4 stars? And not 5?!

Well the last app was able to show and update me when I make my payment for my car. What I mean is I usually split pay, half of the full amount owed and the remainder the next pay period. Now I can’t see what the remaining balance is when I make a partial payment for my loan. Which I have to log in to the website and I will see the remaining balance I need to pay before the due date.

If I’m missing something lmk!

Crap app, bring back the old until you improve this

Why release a new app when the old performs so much better, just for pretty colors??? The new app is painfully slow to load (esp when only certain accounts are selected for display), it doesn’t refresh data well/predictably/consistently, it doesn’t show pending transactions in a timely manner (sometimes a day later), I have to scroll to see all my accounts vs seeing them all on 1 screen, and so much more. This is total crap, please let us at least use the old one until this one is fixed.

Terrible App

They have the WORST ONLINE BANKING EVERRRRR!!!!!! The app is not accurate

Since I transferred to this new app my checking balance never updated, it completely misleading and I can’t see all the transactions I made. The setup is also bad as he put all the checking accounts together and the savings together so if you have your kids accounts under you you need to memorize your account number because it doesn’t show anything to inform you this is yours or there’s account. I don’t like UFCU and it’s very hard to navigate.

Awful

The new look and feel is too busy. My wife and I have access to our son’s accounts plus, my personal account plus our joint account. Each of those has a checking, savings and a few savings accounts to tuck away funds for certain savings. In the old app, we would log into one place, then switch between each account. Everything was separate. In the new app ALL of these accounts are viewable at the same time which makes it very cluttered. You can select accounts to hide when you first log in, but when you pay bills or transfer funds around EVERY account is visible again for you to choose from which clutters things up again and is completely unnecessary, especially when paying bills. AND, there is NO FIELD TO ENTER A COMMENT describing why you are transferring funds or paying a bill.

Horrible banking app

Each time we have to download a new app from these people it's a regression. The balances on accounts are always inaccurate as the way the data seems to update is too slow. I can't trust the balances I see when I go to the account page. I have to refresh this multiple times and it sometimes is still wrong. Basically, I can't quickly check my accounts and move money properly if UFCU can't even be trusted. How is it still possible to make an application this bad these days? this app continues to make a strong case why I should take my money elsewhere

Who signed on these changes?

Did this ever go into a pilot where there were testers who used UFCU and gave feedback? This whole change is a complete disaster. Not very intuitive and is a complete step back. First off, I can’t sign out and sign in to a different account, which is such an inconvenience. It’s tied to just that one account you registered. Second, when transferring to other accounts, I can’t see the name to know who that account belongs to. With a family of 5, I don’t know everyone’s account number and don’t know who I’m transferring to when I need to transfer. Third, transferring to other this app members is a nightmare. this app is trying to go on a more modern look, but we don’t want it to look modern and pretty. We want it to make sense, be intuitive, and have an easy flow. Just go back to the old app or find a developer who knows what they are doing and actually test it out with real this app users who can provide feedback to make this an app that we can all use with ease without wanting to pull our hairs out or cringe every time we need to use it.

Looks Pretty, Terrible User Experience

The previous app worked great. It was quick, easy to read, and a lot easier to see an accurate balance.
The new app is absolutely terrible. I have to click Face ID every time I log in now opposed to simple selecting Face ID from settings like the previous app. When I log in now, it shows an incorrect available amount. You have to go back to accounts then go into checking again for it to update. Garbage.
Transferring money to other members now requires many more steps and the funds aren’t even deducted or transferred immediately like before.
When transferring money to my auto loans, I have to manually enter the amount as opposed to UFCU defaulting to the required payment like before.
I could go on. UFCU is terrible. Members prefer functionality over appearance. UFCU needs an update ASAP.

The app and updated website are a huge downgrade from the previous version

Apart from basic banking the most important functionalities the old website had were 1) the ability to have account alerts sent 2) the ability to place comments for transfer transactions 3) the ability to scroll freely through my transactions without having to load more after every10 transactions are loaded. Please restore the old functionalities immediately. In addition: there is no need for cute logos of businesses to which I have made payments, just list their name. Also the "well done" badge that pops up after making a transfer comes across as patronizing. Finally, we have apparently lost the ability to export transactions in excel/CSV format - it's limited only to QuickBooks or Quicken

KK will always return your phone calls and either answer your questions or call you back with the answer. Not an improvement

UFCU is not as good as the previous one. I was dealing with it until I deposited a check and it sent it to a different savings account I have. It doesn’t show the number of the account that it’s sending it to unless you tap on it, which I should have to do. This is VERY inconvenient because the old app used to just deposit checks to my checking account and now the money is in the wrong one. My mom hates the new app too.

Also. Having to press a button for it to do my Face ID isn’t great. The old app used to do it automatically. Don’t like this new app. I will probably switch to a bank because of this account thing.

Can’t write memos anymore

I like that this new app makes it much easier to transfer between my various accounts (like my joint account whose main account holder is my spouse, the old way required me entering the account information every single time). But I HATE that I can’t write memos. I need my husband to be able to tell me why he’s transferring money inside UFCU because it’s much easier to see it right there, just like I want him to be able to see the reasons I’m transferring money. Please implement this feature again!

Can we go back to the old app???

If this is supposed to be an improvement, it is an epic fail. Aside from the basics of not remembering how I prefer logging in (pin or face), when I view my accounts, they are NEVER correct the first time. I have to close UFCU & log in 2-4 times to see the updated balance. Which causes major anxiety when I think I made an error… but no, it’s just an extremely flawed app. And let’s not talk about how slow it is. You would think as long as it takes to load my account info that it could at least be correct.

I’ve been banking with this app for over a decade- even moved to a new city that does not have this app & I still chose to keep them. I’m looking into new banks now. Alllll my banking is done thru UFCU & they for some reason decided to scrap what worked perfectly fine and switch to this garbage. What’s worse is we cannot even use the old app anymore. Disappointing to say the least.

** please do not respond to this review asking me to call in to resolve this with someone. Nothing short of a complete software overhaul is going to fix this monstrosity.

Inefficient

This is the worst banking app I’ve used. I transfer money every paycheck resulting in a small amount of money left over. UFCU works and then it doesn’t. I check my account balance at the beginning and end of the day. I’ve learned that when I open UFCU I have to close it out for my transfer and ‘actual’ balance to show. I did that today, no update happened so I assumed my account had money. Took multiple closings of UFCU to get the actual balance. Turns out I did my math wrong on my transfers and went under my balance the night before. So at midnight I got a $35 courtesy charge fee. This happened one other time, over a year ago, I called to ask for the charge to be revoked and got denied, so I doubt I’ll be compensated this time. You lost a customer over this. Thank you this app for not keeping up with modern times.

An honestly terrible application

It pains me having to write such a negative review, for a bank which I generally feel very positive towards. this app has the worst mobile banking platform I have ever encountered. Load times are extreme, many times the network request to load my card details to lock/unlock times out after several minutes. The send money feature provides no explanation. You’re expected to include a “share” number - something the application and their website provide no explanation of what the expected value is. They somehow took the already poor user experience of the previous application, and made it much worse. Regularly aggravated by interacting with this service.

Frustrating at best

Look, I like this app. They’ve been my bank for over a decade and they’ve treated me very well. That being said, UFCU is *horrible*. There are times where it won’t show me my current balance unless I refresh the page 16 times. There are times where it won’t show me my current balance no matter how many times I refresh. Right now it’s not showing a single transaction from the last 3 days. Why? I have no idea. I don’t want to go back to the days where I have to keep a paper ledger of all my transactions. I should be able to open UFCU and see everything up that has gone through up until that immediate minute. This is driving me absolutely bonkers. Please, I am begging y’all, fix UFCU before I decide to change banks. Please.

Old app version was better

The new app has so many issues. First one is that it NEVER updates in a real time basis, so you’re back to being old school and tracking your money differently. What’s the point of having UFCU for the user when it’s not even working in that area? The design is not user friendly and it’s not very easy to direct. You have to look and click on certain tabs just for find what you’re looking for. The user lost a lot of setting options which makes no sense, UFCU is suppose to have the user save THEIR time by allowing us to update our address, phone number, etc. now you have to call and wait on hold for a support specialist or go to the bank.
I have to repeatedly log on and off just to make sure my balance is updated and reflecting properly. If this app was trying to create UFCU version to be more secure and easy they failed in that department. Please bring the old version back.

Remember the days where you got your paycheck directly deposited and the money was there. When you could count on consistency and you could get all your bill paying and purchases done before clocking in to work. Well there will be no more of that here Ladies and Gents. That’s right. As a financial institution we have decided with our new app, that consistency and customer service are no longer a concern here at this app. Gone are the days where we put you first because, frankly. Customer. You don’t matter anymore. All we care about are profits and growth. So sit in that phone queue line and shut up. You’ll get your money when we get around to it. Until then try not to be so broke.
