Beanstox: Automated Investing Reviews

This service is horrible. Stay away at all costs. Everything worked great for a few months. About a week ago, my account suddenly showed a notification that it was “pending liquidation” after I had made no such request. It instructed me to “contact support” if I had questions, so I did. I received a generic reply that it was an “internal error and we’re working on fixing it.” The next day, my account shows $0 balance - no transaction history showing that shares have been sold, no transfer history saying that money has been withdrawn. Fast forward to a week later, my account still shows $0 balance, nothing has been fixed, and each time I email support, I’m given the same generic reply that “we’re working on fixing this right away. Rest assured your funds are still invested.” I have even emailed asking very specific questions like, “can you tell me when/how I can get my funds transferred back to my bank account and cancel my account?” Each time, these questions are completely avoided. There is no phone number to call and talk to a representative. It’s insane, like they’re holding my funds hostage and not allowing me access by claiming an “internal error”. I just want my money back. If there’s really an internal error affecting your customers’ ability to maintain their own investment accounts, you should not be taking over a week to fix it.

I never write reviews! However, I was so disappointed with Beanstox, I had to write something with the hope to save others from wasting their time and money. Beanstox is a great concept! Initially, i invested $200 a week to get the feel of Beanstox . When I reached $3,000, I wanted to see how simple it would be to gain access to my funds. It took over a month with multiple issues and poor communication. My account was frozen for no apparent reason. Even when I cancel the service another withdrawal was made. You will never talk to anyone, just multiple emails. I’m glad I didn’t invest what I had planned to. I have never been so disgusted with service. I’m disappointed and that’s very difficult to make happen because I try to see the best in everything.

Beanstox had to have been rushed out the door. Beanstox is too difficult to start an account, offers no preview pictures of what Beanstox is about/ how it functions, and demands an initial investment without disclosing just how that investment will be growing. The most frustrating think is while entering in virtually any details, you have to scroll up and the down (sometimes several times) just to have the continue button visible. I can’t trust my money in a roboapp that doesn’t have at least a functional GUI.

Beanstox is the worst. Customer service is the terrible. There’s no phone number to call, only a useless email address. You have to pay 5 dollars a month for the service that is not there. There are way better investing apps for low to none monthly fee and way better reliability. I’m still waiting to get my money back after Almost 2 weeks

I recently opened an account with Beanstox. Beanstox is not very user friendly in setting up the goals. I inadvertently set two goals. In an attempt to remove. This resulted in more money getting transferred to Beanstox than planned.
In my attempts to prevent that transfer, not sure what I did, but the next time I logged on it said “Frozen Account”. There is no number to call to resolve this issue, getting very sporadic to no help to efficiently resolve this matter. I am getting worried that I am now 2nd guessing my decision to go with Beanstox.

Definitely needs work. I attempted to cancel my membership once I realized I would have no control over my portfolio, even unlinked my bank account to avoid a withdrawal. I didn’t even have Beanstox for 24 hours prior to my attempt at canceling. Went through the steps to cancel my membership through Beanstox and funds were still withdrawn days later! Currently attempting to reach their customer service center which seems to be of no help whatsoever. Save yourself a headache and stay away from Beanstox.

I have not been able to link my bank to Beanstox . I was having great tech support by mail trying to help me link my bank. When tech support realize my bank was not popping up on my end, I was told they will get back to me. Well, it’s been quit a few days now and I still have not heard of anything. I’m new to this industry...when I did my research, I was excited to find Beanstox...but disappointed it’s not working for me.

I have used this service for close to 30 weeks now and I thought everything was going fine until I needed to actually withdraw my money. It is now the start of the second week (after the 3-5 business day) without resolution or indication to where any of the funds are located. I have wrote several emails to the support staff and I have not heard back from the company in 3 days. Stay away from this app. I liked the idea of Mr. Wonderful but this is anything but that.

I downloaded Beanstox based on a recommendation from a friend and really love it. This is a great way to make high returns with little investment experience! 10/10 suggest to people of all ages and time horizons!

There seems to be a fundamental flaw with how you set up your investment profile. You tell it how long you want to invest, then it will set you up with a conservative or high risk portfolio. The longer the investment, the higher the risk tolerance. But there's no way to tell it "I want to take big swing by making some high risk investments for 1 year, with the hopes of a big return."

There's also no information about the companies/bonds in your portfolio.

I recently downloaded it after being recommended it from a podcast , It seemed legit so I deposited 2k into Beanstox . . And then I read the reviews , instantly regretted it . So I looked for all ways to pull the money out & sure enough after 3 days, the money deposited at midnight & so I wasn’t awake for the transaction to attempt to prevent it .
Money is out of my bank account BUT now my account is frozen. Asking me to email their support team via email .

Horrible customer service,There is no number to call and when you try to email you get no help. Looks like customer service people in email don’t know what they’re doing themselves.
Didnt know Kevin would put his name on some lame product like that.
I tried to invest more money but Beanstox wouldn’t let me and customer service doesn’t know how to solve the problem.
Will be disconnecting my membership.

Goals based investing is how I would like to save and invest and Beanstox has made this easy to do so each month. Easy to setup goals for saving or buying car. Good stuff

I’ve never really felt a need to invest or had the time to do it properly, even though I know I should, so Beanstox is exactly what I was looking for !

I am loving this app! You have created an incredibly easy and safe environment for anyone to start investing. If you are a beginner or seasoned vet, this app is for you! I love it and now use it daily from my phone!

As a new investor I was looking for an app that was easy to setup and I could start to invest now. Beanstox made that process easy.

You did a great job with the latest version of Beanstox . Can't wait to see what you do next.

Got Beanstox in March 2019 - it’s easy to set up and I barely miss the regular withdrawals from my checking account.

The default Strong Password through iPhone’s password manager didn’t save so I tried to reset the password. I got an email, but the link didn’t work on multiple devices. I like the idea and plan to use it, but can’t log in.

A great first step for those looking to get involved with adding Robo Advisor to their portfolio.

Can’t add bank account. Can’t search my bank. Can’t contact support. And you want me to believe I can trust you with my money??

After entering all of my information to get started, I received an error code. Tried again with the same result. Wish this hadn’t been a waste of time.
