Completely unnecessary and poor implementation of an app revamp

This should have been a version update instead of a new app.
They did not even migrate user data. Why would I have sign up as a new user? I have used the previous app for over 2 years and it has a lot of data I need. What will happen to that? Why do I need to start over?
You introduced a new app and did not even keep enough bandwidth for sign ups. Why do I have to take pictures of my NID and a selfie to log in with my bank account? No other app needs such unnecessary steps that only increase hassles for the users.

Please stop introducing apps just for the sake of introducing apps. The previous app worked just fine and your implementation of the new app is so bad, EBL’s management needs to urgently look into what the digital service team of the bank is doing.

Bizarre, weird and Disappointing

They Say, First Impression Matters!! This is a Bizarre switch of module from EBL. The new App is slow, hardly works out. Despite being a sky banking user, it will ask you to register again and moreover when the final phase comes in, you need to verify it is you with a selfie and the verification fails no matter how many times you try that. My employees are having a hard time registering with their phone numbers as well. I’m this era of digitalisation, if you have to go back to the basics once again then it’s better to get back to the old module of banking as well. This is absolutely insane of an step from EBL. I’m surprised to see a well renowned Bank has fall for a mediocre development from an it company who hardly knows what they have done with the development of EBLSKYBANKING .

This is nothing more than Alpha Release

At the time of writing this feedback, EBLSKYBANKING just does not work in any meaningful way. Could not even add an account because they need to check the liveliness of the selfie which for eternity does not work. Added the credit card then then the Card service went under maintenance. I don't even think they handled the API exceptions well enough.
Also I dont understand the point where it can not sync the accounts linked with my number but they can trace them when I enter my Phone number.

I’m not sure what went wrong at your went but this is a banking app. If the fundamentals does not work (at least which were working in your previous app), cant say this is even beta.

Waste of time

EBLSKYBANKING doesn’t take previous sign in data of their previous app. Even couldn’t finish sign up. Continuously shows loading icon and later will show connectivity issue but internet is totally fine. Its like their server issue. It is not appreciated that they just launched a buggy app and forcefully stopped the transaction in previous app. I wasted my 2hrs in the weekend just with EBLSKYBANKING . No option shows any place to mail to their support team. Why on earth they need NID pictures here also the selfie. I have security concern. I don’t even know how they are keeping data. Interestingly even terms of use and privacy policy page shows no data in the browser.

Disappointing Update

I’ve been using the EBL banking app for quite some time, and I must say that the recent update has left me frustrated. The new version is a far cry from its predecessor. Here’s why:

Sluggish Performance: EBLSKYBANKING is painfully slow. Whether I’m logging in or trying to access different segments, it feels like waiting for eternity. Even government bank apps perform better.

Connection Issues: The constant “internet connection problem” message is infuriating. It’s hard to rely on an app that struggles to connect consistently.

A Step Backward: EBL had a perfectly functioning app before this update. I can’t fathom why they replaced it with this crippled version.

Emergency Concerns: In urgent situations, waiting for EBLSKYBANKING to respond is not an option. I need reliability, especially during emergencies.

Unless EBL addresses these issues promptly, I’ll have no choice but to switch banks for my daily transactions. 🙁

Very poor banking experience

I must express my profound disappointment with your recent actions regarding the mobile app. Your decision to force an upgrade without ensuring its functionality is nothing short of unprofessional. If your team lacks confidence in the upgrade, why impose it on users? We are not here to perform your quality assurance.

Furthermore, your sluggishness in reverting to a previously stable version is equally frustrating. It appears that incompetence is not limited to your latest release but extends to your ability to rectify mistakes promptly.

Regrettably, I chose you as my banking partner, a decision I now deeply regret.

Extremely slow

It takes unreasonable time to get logged in and also delay too much to access to information once it is clicked. Need to make the log in and access to feature faster and real faster. It’s really very annoying and frustrating as a user of EBLSKYBANKING . Hope that things will improve as soon as possible. However, new app looks better compared to the previous one.

The new this app app from Eastern Bank PLC is a game-changer! It’s packed with features that make mobile banking easier and more convenient. The interface is user-friendly, and I love the added functionalities that allow me to control my bank account directly from my phone. Kudos to the team for this fantastic upgrade!

Face verification not working

First of all why can’t we use previous app’s UID(ESBXXXX)? That would be so much more convenient.

Secondly I understand that we have to open a new account, and so I started the account opening process. I got stuck until step 5 where you have to verify your face. I tried this step like 100 times but It just doesn’t work. It always says session expired or connection issue. I have tried with my home wifi and also mobile data but nothing works.

I hope you guys fix this issue as soon as possible.

In first time in EBLSKYBANKING account registration process too bad experience, When app say upload your selfie photo take too long lime also after around 1 minutes say it your internet connection errors or time out your connection. Totally irresponsible from app. In previous app already registered should be continued the previous app information. Please update your app when taken selfie . Best and regards

Is that a joke?

You need to go through the registration process again to use the new app. There’s no backup or restoration of your old data. You need to input all of our details and beneficiaries. That means the old DB has gone! Moreover, you can’t even sign-up/login to the new app. It’s loading forever! Is that a joke?

How can such a (so-called) Grade-A bank launch a banking app without proper testing?

They’ve already shut off the old app, any other way of online banking, and marketed for months to launch this trash!

Fdr dps certificate issue & app slow

While downloading dps certificates using date range its not showing all the dps / fdr for that date range, only showing active dps .
But in a year there are many which was completed also requires those certificates.

And app is slow sometimes also showing no internet ! While internet is there

This is not cool. It has serious connection issues. That cloud loading looks awkward and disgusting at the same time. All the previous beneficiaries are gone, you need to entry them again! Do you even have any SQA? Totally disappointed. Fix this ASAP.

App is not functional.

As an account holder, I tried to sign up again in new app but after taking the selfie it waits for 2-3 minutes, then says "Connection Timeout! Please check internet connection" while I am still using internet on the other devices.
Too much unexpected.
That app is also heavy I think and uses too much resources that phone starts warming up pretty fast.
Should've been checked before launching.

Slowness

EBLSKYBANKING reminds me of life in the '90s. 😁

It's extremely slow and often says there's no internet connection. OTPs don't populate automatically on my iPhone 12 Pro Max, though they surprisingly appear on the pin screen. Additionally, card PIN authentication frequently fails.

The biggest issue so far is the slowness. I hope the development team will address these problems soon.

Super super super slow app!!!

Ok. There’s a revamp of EBLSKYBANKING design. I got it. But a banking app shouldn’t be so laggy. Make it fast in next update pls.

Some features are unnecessary. Theme, profile picture, separate pages for account and debit card balance. Also some animations. These made EBLSKYBANKING bulky and too funky.

Pls make it simple and fast to use pls.

It takes too much time to load data after updating EBLSKYBANKING . At the same time it shows me invalid user id when I try to login after completing sign up process successfully. It’s ridiculous.

APP IS WAY TOO LAGGY

After spending a month of promoting a new sky banking app which promises better UI and updated features EBL has managed present a catastrophe ! The server that EBLSKYBANKING runs is way to slow to handle all this load from it's customers moreover EBLSKYBANKING is full with bugs which makes it extremely laggy and slow ! No matter how good internet connection you have EBLSKYBANKING will still be stuck in the loading screen ! The previous app didn't have a beautiful UI but did all the job right but EBLSKYBANKING took away all the Convenience of the previous app at the cost of an updated “UI” . They needed to run several tests before publicly releasing EBLSKYBANKING . PLEASE FIX EBLSKYBANKING IMMEDIATELY !

Unable to take selfie & showed message Connection Time Out.

It takes a lot of time to take selfie at least more than 1 minutes. And then it gives an error message CONNECTION TIMEOUT ! CHECK INTERNET CONNECTION. I have tried atleast 15 to 25 times, but never able to confirm selfie.

For which I called their call centre, they hung up for at least 5 minutes & before plays automated message YOUR CALL IS VERY IMPORTANT TO US but no one picks up the call. No one even feels the need to call back.

Previous EBL Sky Banking app were quite fine & convenient to use. EBL could have updated the old one with a new interface without creating a new app.

Adding Multiple accounts not possible

I have 4 accounts but i can add only 1. Very unprofessional logics. Even sync is doing nothing, as it suppose to collect all my accounts/cards data. I tried more than 10 times signup process but I couldn’t pass step5 (photography). Not only that it takes too much time to load Accounts/cards data.

Worst banking app

Worst banking app from EBL. This application is supper laggy, lot of bugs. Their old application was far better than this one.
They have released a new version of skybanking app and i am already a registered user in old apllication, then why i need to register again? This is very bad experience as an user.
How a renowned bank can release this type of buggy and laggy application?

EBLSKYBANKING needs a full re-work. Lots of bugs. Connection time outs during registration. Errors. Loading screen of death. Customer needs to re-register again even though he/she is a old user.
Doubtful about security.
The previous version was much better.

So disappointed with the new app

This is not an updated version of the previous app; it is completely different and does not contain any previous data. It requires you to sign up again. I thought it would be fine, but when I tried to log in, the liveliness step showed an error. I contacted the helpline, and they told me to uninstall and reinstall EBLSKYBANKING , but it didn’t work. They mentioned that their new app has some bugs. My concern is, why did they launch EBLSKYBANKING if it still has bugs? The previous version was outdated but completely functional. The new version feels unusable. Now, I need to go to the bank or an ATM to withdraw my money and then use another mobile banking service to send money online. It’s making my day worse.

Frustrating Experience with the New Skybanking App

I've been using the previous Skybanking app for a long time, and it was incredibly useful and efficient. I don't understand why they introduced such a poorly designed app instead of simply updating the old one! For the past few days, I've been trying to add my bank account to the new app, and it consistently gets stuck at various stages. Currently, I am living in the US and urgently need to transfer money from my bank account to my father's Bkash number for his treatment. However, I am unable to do so due to the inefficiency of this new app. It appears the bank launched it without proper preparation. The entire team responsible for EBLSKYBANKING should be held accountable!

Weird App

Why should signup again as I am existing app user ? They asked for upload NID & Selfi for account signup . Without my NID & Photo they opened my account . I am carring one Minor Accont ,2 Monthly DPS , one Visa platinum Credit card. From the day one I paid my credit card bill through old app/web portal from my Minor account but now & also can transfer the amount to others bank account but in new app nothing is possible. Worst tech team & management team. Without fixing EBLSKYBANKING problem they just shutdown their web portal service .

Why new!! Not smooth, very discouraging!

This is absolutely disturbing to go for a whole new process, NID check and photo upload. I have tried 20 times of taking selfie, unfortunately could not upload. They did not provide any reason for not being successful nor given an instruction.

Disappointing

EBLSKYBANKING is such a disappointment. I have been using skybanking for over 5 years now. And i was happy with EBLSKYBANKING . This new app starts overheating my phone so fast that by the time i can register aa new user EBLSKYBANKING crashes. I’m stuck with my banking here due to EBLSKYBANKING, as i do most of transactions through skybanking. Please look into this matter, and don’t make our lives any harder. :(

A Pathetic Excuse for an App Update

This so-called "new app" is a total joke. It should have been a simple update, not an entirely new app. They didn't even bother migrating user data—how lazy and incompetent can they be? Why on earth should I have to sign up as a new user? I've used the previous app for over three years and it contains essential data I need. What happens to all that now? Am I just supposed to start over from scratch?

And then there's the signup process—what a mess! Not enough internet for signups? Seriously? Plus, having to take pictures of my ID and a selfie just to log in with my bank account? That's utterly ridiculous and invasive. No other app makes you jump through such pointless hoops. This whole thing is an absolute disaster.

Glorious UI with a crappy backend

I am an iOS user. For some reason, the keyboards doesn’t work. Either I have to touch several times to pop up the keyboard, or cancel EBLSKYBANKING altogether. The icons, UI is good, but not the UX. I just made a transaction, and I can’t see it on the dashboard. Rather I don’t even know where to find the history. The offer tabs take a whole lot space, where the features tabs are small. Shouldn’t it be the opposite? And don’t even start on creating all the beneficiaries altogether. You already have the beneficiaries. It seems the developers forgot there’s something called data migration. I had to find all the information again to create them all. You already had my skybanking user ID, why I had to create a new one? Due to keyboard problem, the user ID created was a mess. EBLSKYBANKING transition isn’t smooth at all. Plus sometimes the data in previous fragments/segue gets erased. You guys totally forgot about deployment scaling. It took me 15 minutes altogether to accomplish the KYC.
And why the wait icon is a ripoff of google cloud?
The only positive thing in EBLSKYBANKING is the icons or UI. It would have been better if I could see the features, recent history, cards etc., instead of offers.

Horrendous experience

Absolutely disappointed with this new app. Being outside of Bangladesh, i needed the email option to access OTP. EBLSKYBANKING allowed me to signup using OTP via email and perform the registration using credit card, but when try to add the accounts, system can’t find email to provide OTP. Result-i can’t access any of my accounts after this pathetic upgrade. Trying to chase the bank for around a week to find a solution but so far no answer. Only some incompetent representatives are there with a common answer-give us some more time!!!!
Why in gods name EBL launched this pathetic app when the previous app was working fine?

New SkyBqnking app has been frustrating.

My experience with the EBL SkyBanking app has been frustrating. I manage both a business and savings account, both linked to the same phone number. During registration, I selected my business account, yet upon logging in, EBLSKYBANKING displayed my business account name while associating it with the account number of my savings account—quite baffling. Initially, EBLSKYBANKING showed all my cards and bank details during registration, but upon logging in, I couldn't find my other associated account. This inconsistency is highly inconvenient and needs immediate attention from the developers.

Horrible.

I seriously have no idea what was wrong with the previous app, I understand you made it look much more fancier now but EBLSKYBANKING still looks like it’s an unfinished app. The bkash feature isnt working, the passport feature is buffering and you spell the word “travel” as “taval”. Ebl you are expected more than this and expected to deliver a better experience for your customers. Please screen your app and go through better testing before making it a final version cause quite frankly this seems like a beta.

Refreshing UI

It had its teething issues like every other pieces of software but I am really digging the new UI/UX. I am sure once everything gets settled everyone will love EBLSKYBANKING , and now that I have got the existing beneficiary data as well, no complains.

Experience

On IOS this new app is working perfectly fine for me. New user id creation with verification were faster and easier. I can see all of my previously added beneficiaries, transaction histories, statements etc. right in place in this new one. Additionally, all the features have become much more smoother and quite handy.
Have not found any glitches yet. Interface felt safer and modern. I am loving it. Thanks EBL.

One of the best app

It’s the best app among the other banking apps I’m currently using. Thanks to the developers. Initially there were some hiccups, but gradually I understood how smarty it was developed. EBLSKYBANKING doesn’t deserve 2/5 rating which it’s currently holding, but I believe the rating will improve over the period of time. All the best!

Worst Banking app.

I am an IOS user, I still could not sign up for an account on my skybanking app. I have filled out the details for like a hundred times whether it’s through ‘open with a card’ or ‘open with an existing account’. It’s all the same! When I reach the last page of application form it asks me to use a preferred ID and password. After I fill up my details, the complete button doesn’t work! I keep on pressing it but nothing works. I thought in the beginning, maybe there is some sort of a glitch or the somewhere I provided wrong credentials, but after trying for so many times, i figured it’s EBLSKYBANKING !!

Bad experience

Hello guys I am using EBL Sky banking since 10 years , it was good sky banking app of Bangladeshi banking system , but two week ago EBL launched there new sky banking app that is very very bad experience, login login ….. And it is not good working I called their 24/7 call centre they asked their system upgrade need more than more time And etc ………
