I downloaded. Set up key. Then on to phrase set up. The phrase remained blurry. It never appeared and when I tried to tap the eye, it took me to the next step. I closed xPortal to try again. I deleted xPortal and downloaded it again. This did not resolve the issue. I again was never shown my phrase. The only option was to save it in iCloud which I did not want to do but had no choice. Didn’t realize that iCloud won’t show me the actual phrase and just stored an access password. I deleted xPortal to start again but now my phone number is registered and it won’t let me start again. I have no desire to store my crypto or Nft’s in this wallet when I cannot even get initial access to see my seed phrase to manually store it. I have also tried to find a way to contact help and it’s like going down a rabbit hole of clicking options with no place to write a message.

This wallet treats security like a cute joke. The process to backup the secret phrase is such a frustrating experience, giving you less than 10 seconds to write 24 words before it auto locks. To unlock and continue, you need to accept two agreement pages and then complete an incredibly annoying word puzzle. I’ve never taken a screenshot of a secret phrase, never considered it nor have I kept a digital copy or used a feature to backup to iCloud but this wallet had me so close to breaking those best practices out of pure frustration.

Curious how the “Backup to iCloud” button was right there every time it locked. More curious is how an agreement page they force you to accept instructed against creating a digital copy of your phrase in the first place.

Please don’t play games with security.

Note to the Maiar Browser Extension crew: it’s common knowledge that forcing people to conform to your individual ideas of security just incentivizes people to store their password on sticky notes they quickly paste to the front of their monitors…

The Maiar Wallet is hands down one of the easiest and intuitive wallets anyone can find. They do an excellent job of easing anyone into this complex world. The wallets is non-custodial, which is a must for any wallet, and has advanced features build in, such as biometric security and wallet phrase backup. Love the ease of use and security that’s built in. Would recommend it to anyone both beginners and advanced users.

I got 2/5 through the set up process and then no matter what I try it crashes. Too bad. When I finally (somehow) got to a place to purchase EGLD, I was allowed by xPortal to give my ID, personal info, and photo (everything necessary to steal my identity) only to be told I can’t purchase from my country (USA). They should’ve told me that before I divulged my personal information and documents, putting myself at risk. Actually, I should have been told before downloading xPortal . I guess I’m telling you. It is such a shame because this company looks so promising and is doing so much right, but xPortal and their website are a disaster!

Are people being ignorant? xPortal is so easy to use. The one star reviews are legit bots. Don’t even mind them! It’s the Venmo of crypto I tell people and was super easy to set up. They help you along the way….so I’m just so confused with those one star reviews lol. It also has the best security I’ve seen and never crashes. Must be their internet? Huh oh well get xPortal!

I don’t normally write reviews, but it’s worth saying that the Maiar app by the Elrond dev team is the most intuitive and beautifully designed mobile crypto wallet I’ve used to date. The consistency the developers at Elrond have given in making sure xPortal runs seamlessly is unparalleled. Elrond is the greatest L1 solution in the crypto world, and I have high hopes for the future of this project

I’ve been following and participating in the crypto space going on 6 years, have seen many wallets, lost many wallets. Maiar innovation is by far the best seamless way to navigate the blockchain, its as if you are not even in the crypto world. Do your self a favor, learn how to operate this beast and find your way to controlling your financial freedom! Take back your time!!

Huge fan of the Maiar wallet and the Elrond Network. The Maiar DEX, low EGLD fees, ease of NFT storage are all huge positives that other wallets lack. The only thing I would like to see added is a 0% fee option for buying EGLD on xPortal , they keep adding options with 0% for a short period of time and then it goes away.

I live in those island and my state is not compatible with the moonpay platform. There should be more ways to add money because I can't do anything with xPortal now since I can't put money into it. Buying crypto on another platform is sending it is a waste of money in the fees. I like the platform and the idea just wish it worked for my area.

I’m excited about the the future of Elrond and EGLD, but xPortal is unfortunately not working and is plagued with many UI issues.

Phone number attestation initially failed continuously (while still giving access to the wallet, weirdly enough), and future updates just changed this to pending. It has been pending for over a month now.

Random pages just have “Label” as the default text for all of the labels. Someone didn’t add unit tests...

Support is also not up to par. Sure, you can message support and they respond in 2 hours they say. Three days later, still nothing. Hence a negative review to perhaps get their attention. Please listen to your users!

If it helps, I have a US-region phone in Tunisia with a Tunisian number. If Maiar doesn’t work here, then don’t let me sign up in the first place!

xPortal has exceeded my expectations every step of the way. I think that xPortal is perfect for the average person and you literally don’t have to know anything about crypto to figure it out. I look forward to see how it continues to expand.

I’ve never left a review before but I have been overly impressed by how well xPortal works to store and stake my EGLD. Highly recommend anyone to try it out for themselves. Quick to load and easy to navigate…. I think it goes to show all the good work the team at Elrond is doing.

This makes holding and sending your egld so easy … you send by a hero tag (which is basically a user name ) instead of a long address

Also being able to stake so simply and get 13% yield is unreal

It's crashed 5 times in 15.' Had to restart xPortal every time

Update: much better after they've worked on it but xPortal will still freeze after using it for a few seconds. If u wait it out it comes back around and so far, from that point on it does work for a few minutes before another freeze

Been waiting for an app this simple and easy to use for cryptocurrency. The user design is fantastic. The use of “hero tags” brilliant. It sure feels like being on the ground floor of something that will become huge globally using Maiar.

Few apps and companies such as Elrond with their native $EGLD currency have been able to create such a user friendly experience. The greatest element is that their mission is rooted in changing wealth inequality by creating the appropriate infrastructure via their blockchain. AWESOME WORK!!

xPortal is incredible and is the only place i feel safe to store my money. The elrond team can build rockets and this is just a small taste of what they can do. Slick cheap payments and lightning fast. Beautiful architecture

If you want to start getting into crypto, this is the place to start. It’s so easy yet so intuitive. You can access an entire ecosystem from just this wallet

This wallet is awesome. I’m using it as my hot wallet and they definitely have the idea right. I’ve signed up a few of my friends and sending money is literally as easy as texting. Well done, let’s get mass adoption!!!

If only you had a better support, not to answer in real time (would be great thou) but in few hours. I have a question for 3 days and still nothing!
Another cool feature would be to see how much you invested in “real” money, (the price you paid) to have an ideea of the profit.
Some times the buy button doesnt work, but i am guessing its a third-party.
Could we import the wallet from elrond to maiar app any time soon, this would be cool.

Just downloaded the new app. Easy to onboard and great to use. Looking forward to great endeavors. Have no eGLD yet, as I was planing to get, but by the time I decided it doubled. Hopefully soon! Great stuff, keep it up!

+The set-up is incredibly fast

+The UI is clean and easy to navigate

+A lot of social features that other crypto apps don’t have, much easier to use crypto in everyday purchases/private sales

-Moonpay isn’t available in the US yet so some people can’t buy crypto in-app yet. Thankfully Maiar supports BNB so transferring assets from Binance is super easy and cheap.

-Not a huge selection of cryptos yet, will improve with time

Very thoughtful, fast and Intuitive app. I bought a bunch of $EGLD on Crypto.com (which not so good, I regret signing up for the service). It happened to coincide with the launch of Maiar. The entire signup and security setup took less than a min. Managed to transfer the $EGLD to Maiar in less than min. Good vibes so far. The team did a really good job.
