Audio digest’s lectures sold can be three and more years old without any current lectures.

I recently purchased the best lectures collection of the family medicine. It was advertised as 263 and more available credits for continuing medical education. It is currently April 2021, and all the lectures are from 2018. Some are so old that they are not even eligible for CME. I called customer service, thinking there must be something wrong with my product. It must need to be updated. However after explicitly asking if audio digest is knowingly selling products that are three years old and older, the representative replied, yes. He went on to review the description of the product, and pointed out there is no information or details indicating the lectures our current! AudioDigest is OK, but the educational product is substandard. I would’ve preferred to put this on their website, to warn other physicians or encourage them to carefully examine and question the product. However that is not a possibility on their website.

I’m so sad right now...

Is it too late? Long time listener here. Each year this app gets more expensive, AudioDigest gets worse, the content is less consistently good... how did what I thought was the gold standard in continuing education to improve practice, become a money grab? Why is it that If you call the company someone will answer immediately to help you sign you up, but AudioDigest doesn’t work and the content doesn’t meet standards? I wish they’d look at audible’s app and make it more like that. Like others commented, the locked screen shouldn’t have an arrow to skip to the next lecture, it should have a back 10-30 seconds button for when you miss something. Also, why can’t AudioDigest pair with my Bluetooth headphones?? I’m really disappointed at the thought that this might be the end of a great company.

Excellent product

I have used Audio Digest for keeping up with Cardiology via the ACCEL series for many years. The product has always had great content, and the delivery has evolved over the years. There have recently been some nice improvements. I mainly listen on an iPad, but have also used an iPhone or computer.

Both good and non good.

The good: Some of the speakers are amazing and a well delivered, organized description of the topic can enlighten a clinician on how to start taking better care of patients with a problem. It is pretty easy to accumulate CME. It does work across different devices (phone, iPad, laptop).

The bad: AudioDigest is a little bit disorganized. Not intuitive to make your own playlist. The lectures you purchased are mixed with other ones that you can pay for. I hate that. AudioDigest is buggy. Not on the same level as what I’ve come to expect from well established apps. Some of the lectures are disorganized and not helpful. Thus, rating of 3/5.

Dated lectures and many glitches

The lectures are dated (2018), by more than 2 years, which for a medical standard shouldn’t be even there. The investment in technology looks neglected. I completed a 2 credit audio and got no credits, I had to waste time calling. Then they were added but were not added to the state tracker. Also the transcript reports widget keeps stating I have no state credits. The customer service is useless, don’t even bother. I recommend against purchasing this product, it offers a very poor experience. How do you offer a board review with lectures from more than 2 ago? Of note I couldn’t find which kind of credit they offered, it looks like they are not AMA credits.

Rusty, cumbersome app that makes learning hard

Every time I launch it, I always hope AudioDigest will just spontaneously start working better than all the times previous to it. It seems to sputter at the most inconvenient times, and there’s a surprising difficulty in getting back to a lecture that spontaneously closes. I get frustrated, move on to more reliable platforms while I cool off, then invariably return 6 months later only to break away once again to go to other more reliable sources. It’s better than the unusable previous app, but this is truly not much better. Learning shouldn’t be so difficult and frustrating.

Meh

I have a 38 minute commute so listening to CME works for me. I’ve been using Platinum subscriptions for about 5 years. I’ve learned a lot, but it’s not nearly good enough. New lectures come out too infrequently for the price. The quality is variable. About 25% are poor quality, 50% are good and 25% are great. Too many speakers are referring to slides which I obviously can’t see. AudioDigest could be more stable, when it freezes and you’re driving you obviously can’t fix it. The search function is poor. Keep trying this app, you can do better, especially at this price!

Audio digest needs help

Programs do not always upload as expected. I have had to call the help desk 4 times in 6 months because the programs are missing. The staff always says to delete AudioDigest and then reinstall it.

There was a problem in September 2018 where I had not received any new programs in 3 months because AudioDigest was being reformulated.
I have been a subscriber since the late 1980’s. The content is great but AudioDigest doesn’t work very well. I stick with it because I get a lot out of the content. I think it will be hard to entice new subscribers who expect more from the technology they purchase

Have found all of their lectures valuable. Give them a great deal of credit for my ability to perform at my job with timely information. Have always loved the service. Thank you, t

App always has problems

I was an AD gold member but found myself having too much trouble with AudioDigest . It either stalls out, taking forever to respond. I tried reinstalling on my newer Apple phone to no avail. They finally made some improvements on AudioDigest but it still leaves some things to be desired. The content is mostly good though not always up to date. It’s a bit disorganized. I am going to look for other options this year.

I really want to like this app, but...

I really, really want to like AudioDigest, since it has so much potential. Unfortunately, it is not well-organized, does not give me credit for lectures I have completed, and doesn’t accurately show progress through the lectures. I keep coming back, hoping that AudioDigest will work as expected, but no luck.

Sorry, Audio Digest, but I need to move on to other formats. Learning should not be this difficult, and I feel I have wasted far too much time already.

Audio Digest Review

Audio Digest is convenient and gives the most up to date information on Orthopaedic Specialty topics. It is great to be able to look at other topics if I am interested. A good way to get CME credits, review current topics and easily submit my transcript to the NCCPA.

App beats internet

Using AudioDigest is much better than trying to access the lectures using the internet with a smart phone. Using the internet browser does work, but using AudioDigest is simpler and works very well.

Reasonable content, clunky player

Audio digest still has the best treasure trove of material, a reasonable substitute if you can’t make it to a conference.
The player is still clunky. It really can’t be safely manipulated in the car between destinations, it requires patience and full attention to navigate and start.

Really Terrible app ruins good cme

I just want to listen to CME as I drive.

I have to go through too many steps to load journal watch to a playlist and when it does play it will do so in a random order (which is annoying). AudioDigest can’t be controlled from my steering wheel controls or audibly so I can’t rewind if I don’t hear something. When I do finish a course then I still have to go through a half dozen steps to remove it from my phone and then remove it from my library.

My courses don’t automatically upload so I’ve had to delete and reload AudioDigest several times and even when I they do upload there’s a 50% chance a key component is missing.

If AudioDigest were a drug it would never get approval due to its toxicity and lack of efficacy

Was good, until it wasn’t… anything

Subscriber for many years. AudioDigest was always wonky but AudioDigest seemed a bit better than the old one. In the beginning of February, new lectures stopped appearing. Emailed the company after a month. They said wait for the next update and the problem will resolve. One month later and nothing has changed; still no new lectures. Worthless. Waste of CME money at this point.

Unusable App

Sometimes refuses to load anything. Crashes often. Confusing organization and lists. I’m a young physician and I don’t want to deal with paper tests and hard copy CDs. I will cancel my subscription if the digital version of this product is not improved. They recently updated this and it’s worse. If you’re considering signing up, Don’t purchase a subscription until they fix it.

discraceful app

I have had an audio digest membership since 1993. The current version of my platinum subscription makes it nearly impossible to listen to The lectures. No recent content shows up, it takes forever to load anything, the frustration involved in trying to use this is not worth the time. Will not be renewing my membership. There is zero customer support

By

Unlikely to continue subscription

Almost unusable in its new form. It wastes time trying to sort it out. Only for digital natives. It doesn’t carry over credits from the previous format. I have only been able to listen to lectures once. It breaks lectures up into short snippets and is a very poor format for listening to while driving.

Unusable

I want to like this application so much. The CME is great and covers a diverse range of topics but AudioDigest is so glitchy that I can only sometimes listen to lectures. If I pause and restart, it never restarts in the right spot. Applying for credit for CME never works anymore. Heck, there is an area to give feedback on AudioDigest and even that freezes and won’t work. The content, when accessible is 5 stars, but it is unusable.
