Was great.

2024-11-17

This was a great recording app. I used to use it all the time. Now I start a recording, if my screen goes to sleep when I wake my machine and iTalkRecorder it hasn’t been recording at all. This has happened repeatedly. Very very frustrating as I had several meetings I wanted to record and I end up with nothing. The first time I thought I had failed to do something but it is now clear it is a fault of the software.

Griffin was once a powerhouse of utilities and accessories which really added to the iPhone experience, now they just make phone protectors... Unfortunate to say the least.

No longer able to upgrade; DO NOT BOTHER

2024-11-17

Writing this as a heads up to anyone else who heard good things about iTalkRecorder and doesn’t mind paying for the in-app upgrade to premium: DON’T BOTHER. I downloaded it yesterday, used it to record around an hour’s worth of high quality audio, and am unable to use it because I cannot upgrade to premium. The upgrade page is non-functional; the help page is a 404 and my email to Griffin customer service went unanswered. By keeping this non-functional app up in iTalkRecorder Store they’ve wasted 7 hours of my time prepping and shooting Video I expected to have sound for. Obviously I’ll never consider buying from them again, hope this PSA helps anyone reading!

Customer Support doesn’t know the product

2024-11-17

I bought iTalkRecorder long ago. I noticed that I was no longer receiving my upgraded features. Reached out for help, was told to reinstall the Lite version. There is NO lite version. Was told to click on upgrade and upon Apple recognizing my ID, my purchase would be restored, yet when I go to upgrade, it’s impossible to do. I’ve touched every millimeter of the screen and I couldn’t buy it if I wanted to because there’s no response on the purchase page. Used to be a great app that took a horrible turn for the worst.

Good recordings; difficult transfer...

2024-11-17

I used the iTalk App with a recording and the outcome was very surprising for a free app. The recording was actually very clear and crisp which I appreciated very much.

However when I went to transfer it to a computer there was no button to export it there. I looked it up and it came up with either using iTunes or iTalk Sync. I thought it was a little confusing have to use an external app in order to get the audio file off.

I tried iTunes and the tab labeled App did not appear under my phone. I couldn’t figure out why so I went to my second option which was iTalk Sync.

Now I’m a little uneasy when downloading weird or unknown files to my computer. I’m mostly worried that a virus might make an appearance, maybe I’m just paranoid... Anyways I searched iTalk Sync and multiple links popped up for download. I didn’t know which one was fake or which one was real so I just didn’t download anything.

I’m stuck with a great recording on the iTalk app with no means to transfer it😅If an export option was added iTalkRecorder would be a whole lot better. Or if I found out why iTunes isn’t working or which iTalk Sync app to download this might make my rating lot better...

Meh

iTalkRecorder is great for recording interviews and whatever else you need it for. I started using it because I was doing research one summer and recorded interviews from the Apple memos app and they would randomly delete or cut in half and it was so frustrating. iTalkRecorder doesn’t do that but it also doesn’t allow you to directly transfer any recording from your phone either. In fact, when I tried to transfer it it asked me to download the premium app which doesn’t seem to exist. So I had to google a way to transfer my files for my research and it did allow me to access my recordings from iTalkRecorder in the file sharing iTunes tool but I had to connect my phone to my laptop and it was pretty inconvenient.

Disappointed that it won’t be updated

2024-11-17

I recently downloaded an iOS update and then my version of iTalk no longer gave me ability to fast forward or rewind. I tried to upgrade to the pro version and I was told “Unfortunately with iOS 11 switching to a 64 bit Apps system our old 32 Bit Apps will no longer be supported for sale. We are looking into updating iTalk so that the premium version can work with the new iOS but as this is a much older program this may not be possible.” ... Needless to say, I can no longer use iTalkRecorder because I used it to transcribe meeting minutes.

Yeah, what they said.

I thought this was a great app for recording samples for music production. I’ve been recording for five years and hadn’t gotten around to upgrading so I could download them. Just tried to do that now and found there is no way to upgrade. Such a huge disappointment that I lost such great material which I could have had if I’d chosen another app. Did the developer die or something? How does anyone in a legitimate business abandon an app with so many users depending on them, with no explanation or apology? Reminds me of some people I’ve met in my lifetime, and I don’t keep people like that around anymore.

Outdated app is now extremely buggy

2024-11-17

Recording still works well, but exporting files is a huge pain, and very buggy. It also won’t process the transfer unless the stupid app is open with the iPhone unlocked the whole time — meaning you can’t do anything else on your phone, essentially.

And if you do successfully export a file, iTalkRecorder basically seizes up and won’t work afterwards, requiring a force-close and restart of iTalkRecorder . So if you have to export several large files in a row, it will be exceptionally tedious.

Crashes,. Few options

2024-11-17

Easy to use interface, but took some time to figure out how to transfer files to my computer. No options to fwd, rwd, and change speed of playback. Mostly importantly it crashed twice during recordings and I do not see those files listed in iTalkRecorder on my tablet, and although I see the crashed files when transferring them to my laptop, I'm unable to play them back... As if they are corrupted.

PLEASE stop recordings from being stopped and deleted when incoming calls comes in!!!

2024-11-17

I love iTalkRecorder. But the fact that (important) in-process recordings get automatically stopped and instantly deleted when an incoming call comes in is infuriating!!!! This happens even if my phone is silenced. PLEASE provide and communicate a way to stop this!!!!! I have lost so many important recordings.

Crank

2024-11-17

I got iTalkRecorder and it works great. The recording quality is awesome.
My only concern is that, I unlocked premium features on my old phone but when i installed iTalkRecorder back on a new phone it wouldn’t give me access to unlock the premium features with same account I used to purchase the feature. Can this be fixed.. otherwise great app by all standards

“This app hasn’t received enough ratings to display a summary?” WHAT THE?

2024-11-17

Something must be very wrong with iTalkRecorder Stores’ rating system. I say this because I’ve owned this GREAT app from Griffin for at least 7-8 years, and I can honestly say this a perfect recorder in every way — it’s super simple to operate, gives you 3 choices of recording quality, and also allows the user to email (as well as text) the file. Clearly, iTalkRecorder Store is currently completely mired in over-selection for apps, and I’m sure there are comparable recorder apps — yet all I can provide is a solid 5-Star rating for iTalk. It’s hard to believe how iTalkRecorder is as great as it is even without paying for the Premium Version; I’d gladly pay the couple extra bucks for the upgrade if I used it more than I do — I mainly use it for doctor visits so I can keep an accurate record of the usual information overload I often face.

I don’t know why it’s SO difficult to find in iTalkRecorder Store, but all I can think is that this great app is buried among literally hundreds of recorder apps. Griffin Technology is a quality outfit, and iTalkRecorder deserves praise IMO, and sure gets my vote!

Easy to use and share!

I was looking for an app that I could use to conduct interviews in busy coffee shops and bars and this is just the ticket. With iTalkRecorder, all I need to do is tap the “record” button and set the phone down unobtrusively. It will work even when the phone is locked.

After everything is recorded, I am easily able to upload it to Google Drive, save it to Files or email it to myself. Five stars!

Best audio recording app on the market

2024-11-17

I’ve used iTalkRecorder for many years and it is hands-down the best. High quality and simple to use. So good on fact that I’ve used it to record professional voice over talent for TV and radio commercials. Get the premium version to send large files.

Life saver

2024-11-17

Man I’ve been using iTalkRecorder for 5 yrs. been a life saver when it come so my music. Got an idea or melody or chords in my head I need to get out this is my go to. I have it on both phones I use.
