Health Optimizer by CVS Health Reviews

Hi! Love HealthOptimizer ! 3 suggestions:
1) Is there a way to name your meal when saving a grouping to my meals?
2) Can you add a ReliOn Platinum Meter option to you list of meters to connect to?
3) When adding a food with Carbs only into the food log, could you also have a feature to accept calories too? This will help add a calorie count to the food item for the food log. This way, I’d have a more accurate idea of calories eaten for that day.

I had high hopes for this program, unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. The program was downloaded from HealthOptimizer Store and each time I try to open it, it prompts me to download an update and sends me back to HealthOptimizer Store. It is an endless loop and I can’t use the program at all. I also cannot see the keyboard when I try to leave feedback unless I tap towards the bottom of the screen multiple times and swipe the screen up and down. The issue is not with my iPhone as it is a brand new iPhone 14 Pro Max with all of the latest iOS updates. Going to delete app.

I had issue with not being able to pair meter to app someone called me back and took the time to walk me thru how to fix it and then followed up again later to make sure everything was working correctly.

On the one hand lots of info. The recipes look good and the general information seems well laid out. But nothing works. Nothing that is supposed to sync syncs. At least not consistently and when it doesn’t it’s frustrating and unintuitive to enter manually if you even can. I’m already cranky when I wake up. It’s bad enough to have to stab myself every morning and wrestling with HealthOptimizer before breakfast is a horrible way to start the day.

HealthOptimizer tends to be really slow to respond at times, often will freeze up, but the most annoying problem is the need to delete HealthOptimizer and reinstall it from the cloud to restore medication list. Then I'm required to reset options.

Previously HealthOptimizer was used by Adapt Health Solara - nothing has changed- still not ready for prime time.

I’m being forced to download HealthOptimizer by my insurance provider. So, I did, and the next day there is supposedly an upgrade. Okay’d the upgrade and it sent me to HealthOptimizer Store page for HealthOptimizer . Told it to open and it sends me back to the screen saying I need to upgrade to be able to use HealthOptimizer . And it keeps going that way in a useless loop. Thanks a lot.

Very easy to use. Super intuitive and one of the best apps I've tried with regard to inputting information and getting feedback.

If I weren’t linked to this by my insurer it would be deleted within days of install. It does not work. Today I entered breakfast twice, hit save, nothing saved. Cannot go back and see history and progress. Reinstalled multiple times. Fixes work temporarily sometimes. Totally useless as an app.

When HealthOptimizer is syncing your results from your devices HealthOptimizer will close.

Sync feature is not working. Both BG and Weight takes forever to sync. Most of the time it fails to fetch the data while I double confirmed my glucometer and weigh machine as in sync mode, Bluetooth on.

Has some good recipes but won’t let me print them. I hate having to look online every time.
Won’t sink phone and iPad. Won’t save everything. Won’t sink with my BioTel meter.

App won’t open. Icon missing from Home Screen. When I try to open from App Store screen is black then times out.

It was ok a bit clunky then today everything I entered disappeared. It was there this morning and gone now including all my history and medication information

Every time I try to open HealthOptimizer to add a blood pressure machine HealthOptimizer crashes.

It doesn’t connect to the cvs blood pressure monitor from yellow heart and doesn’t connect my contour one next glucose monitor either. Nor does it connect to my scale. Absolutely worthless for me to manually punch in these readings

You would think that a company such as CVS would get a health app right…..well they didn’t

History only goes back 30 days
And no easy to read charts

I ended up downloading 3 apps…one for the scales, one for the BP meter, and one for my blood sugar…..all because CVS couldn’t make HealthOptimizer work

Seriously, don’t waste your time until they get it working correctly.

Although this is the only result that comes up when you search the web for "cvs blood pressure monitor app," this is not HealthOptimizer you want. HealthOptimizer you want is the "Microlife connected Health" app.

It takes forever to figure out where to upload files

I just applied an update and HealthOptimizer crashes when logging in. I’ve tried deleting HealthOptimizer and reinstalling it - nothing. ISO version 17.0.3

Constantly not saving logs

I’ve spent hours setting this up, logging info, food, weights, and syncing other health apps that it is asking for. Nothing works as it should. I “save” foods and they disappear. I allow access to apple health and it never takes. Most recently, it just wiped ALL my information and data I’ve logged for the past week, making it look like I have not even started to use HealthOptimizer . The fact that coverage of my medical treatment hinges on this compliance is extremely stressful. If I could give zero stars or negative stars I would. If you are just getting started with this, good luck to you because it’s a time-wasting hellhole. Fix your flipping app, CVS Caremark, if you are going to force people to use it.

Why don’t you push updates like every other app? Every time there is an update I go through days in this endless loop of not being able to use HealthOptimizer because it needs to update, it takes you to HealthOptimizer Store and there is no mechanism to update. I have even tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Not a great thing when you are trying to get people to put health information into your app

Another revision: I finally got a call back days late with excuses and told I basically needed a new scale from manufacturer (the scale you sent me that is working). Your rep kept saying the scale wasn’t reading right. I kept correcting her that the weight wasn’t being imported correctly by your app and she kept blowing off it not importing my Fitbit info or the keto meter you sent me. Your “app” such as it is, needs serious improvements and your customer support staff needs some listening comprehension & customer support education. When she called back she was more concerned about having to close out the “ticket” than resolving my issues.
FYI I’m not requesting a new scale because your app cannot import information correctly.

Revision: So I called as requested and spoke to rep and submitted screen captures as requested. I was told I’d receive a call back by close of business today and what a surprise, no call back. App is slow and clunky. Doesn’t always sync readings of sync’d devices. When used on iPad, it doesn’t use the full screen. When sync’d to the weight scale, it doesn’t show the actual weight, it rounds up the decimal and if you have the scale that takes additional bio data, it does not display that data anywhere in HealthOptimizer . The “reports” it sends periodically are lacking. After diligently entering/uploading all this data daily, I can’t print a report to share with my doctor. So really what use is all this.

HealthOptimizer is a really hard to use version of my fitness pal. Nothing is simple, It take 4 or more times to get devices to sync. I am forced to use HealthOptimizer by my insurance company, or I’d delete. Meetings with the dietician are not available at convenient times, and the meeting platform is hard to stay connected to. You cant set up an appointment directly, so twice now my provider has said ‘you can have this one or that one’, I choose, and then get told my choice has already been taken. Also. I have missed messages because they come while I’m at work. I cannot just keep logging on every hour for the one time the message is important every 2 weeks. I honestly think HealthOptimizer was deliberately designed for CVS healthcare to be able to deny coverage of medication, because there’s no way to send feedback in HealthOptimizer or get help. Phone system is tied up so you’ll be on hold for more than 1/2 hour. DO NOT use if you don’t have to.

This seems very intrusive. My insurance company forces me to download HealthOptimizer I order to pay for my wegovy prescription. What make this intrusive and quite scary is that, you must agree to all components of the program which include see their doctors. I go to one of the top hospitals in Chicago, northwestern medicine and now I have to see some random doctor that I know nothing about and they know nothing about me. Are you serious??

Once I finally agreed to the terms by force, their were no appointments available. So, I am now pretty being yanked off my medication because it cannot be refilled without meeting with one of the doctors issued by CVS. If I have any adverse reactions from not taking the medication on time, I will be getting a lawyer and suing the insurance company. This is not right at all. Not all all.

This is almost up their with men telling women what they should do with their bodies and right are forced to comply.

I was told to try HealthOptimizer my my medical professional. It seems ok, but… it doesn’t save the foods you enter. For example, i usually eat the same foods for breakfast and or lunch. I have to re-enter the food items every time. HealthOptimizer has a “Recent” tab but nothing shows up. I might as well use the my fitness pal app.
