Kinda disappointing tbh

SyncUPDRIVELegacy worked really well for the first few weeks I had it but randomly it starts showing my car as offline for days on end or it won’t send me notifications about when my trips have stopped and started even though I have my notifications set to on. It went back to normal after about a week which is kind of a long time considering the point of SyncUPDRIVELegacy is to somewhat prevent my car from being stolen but what’s the point if I can’t even rely on it. Just this week it started bugging out on me again saying there’s a disturbance recorded on my car so I run outside to check but my cars absolutely fine. I’ll be driving home from work and instead of SyncUPDRIVELegacy saying my trip started at work it’ll say it started at my house which they’re 15 miles away from each other so it’s hard to get the locations confused. The lag between starting my car and receiving the notification on my phone is ridiculous I’ll have been driving around and the notification wont show up for about 10 to 15 minutes and that’s when SyncUPDRIVELegacy is being normal. I’ve deleted SyncUPDRIVELegacy and restarted my phone and redownloaded everything thinking that could help but it doesn’t. SyncUPDRIVELegacy has some really bad bugs that definitely need to be fixed. With that being said tho when SyncUPDRIVELegacy is working it’s pretty nice to have. There’s a WiFi hotspot in your car and you can track it as you drive as well as see your battery voltage and an overall car performance.

The Things Just Works!!!!!

SyncUPDRIVELegacy is fantastic!!! I have the Hum device by Verizon on one of my other vehicles and was strongly considering getting more for all of my fleet. I tried out the SyncUP device because it was on promotion and it basically cost me nothing. I am so very glad the T-Mobile associate convinced me to try it. Compared to the Hum device, T-Mobile’s SyncUP is better in two major ways. One. T-Mobile’s SyncUP makes and keeps a detailed log of every trip your vehicle takes from point to point. It doesn’t just give a general location either. It actually gives you your starting point address as well as your ending point address. It then asks and gives you the option to have it save your completed trip as business or leisure. My Hum doesn’t give me this option. Secondly, the SyncUP is much more intuitive time use and navigate through. Also, though both the SyncUP and Hum emit a WiFi signal. After owning my Hum for almost two years, I have noticed that the consistency of the signal to my devices is much better in the SyncUP than the Hum. And I do mean considerably better!!! Kudos to T-Mobile for making an awesome device that just plain works and does what it says!!!!

This App Gets Things Running

I love SyncUPDRIVELegacy! It includes free Roadside Assistance for crying out loud. I like that I can track everything about my car, generate an LTE hotspot, and get real-world MPG. I’ve used trip stats to get data about which gas stations my car likes best. Surprisingly, regular Unleaded yields worse results but by worse I mean the exact MPG my SUV is rated for while the premium fuel at Exxon is betting better MPG. I find my results surprising bc Consumer Reports, KBB, CNET, & any well respected auto magazine has argued that unless your vehicle requires premium fuel there won’t really be a difference. I’d challenge that 8-20 better mpg is noteworthy though especially when my manual states Regular Unleaded is fine and makes no recommendations for Premium fuel. Anyway I’m probably basing my 5 star review of SyncUPDRIVELegacy a whole lot on the MPG analytics, but I do also appreciate that service warnings come up in SyncUPDRIVELegacy , and recall notices for components if they've surfaced. SyncUPDRIVELegacy compliments the SyncUp Drive a whole lot. It's a smart way of connecting the car people already drive. No kidding, I wish more solutions were as brilliant and useful as this one.

The SyncUP Drive saved my car!

I love the SyncUP drive! So much that I have one in both of my cars.

One night, I was out with some friends. Randomly I got a notification from SyncUPDRIVELegacy stating that my vehicle had started a trip. I immediately run outside, and see that my car was no longer in the parking stall! I instantly opened up SyncUPDRIVELegacy to go find out where the car was headed. Through the SyncUp Drive Application I was able to see exactly where they are driving. So I call the cops, get in the car with my friend, and begin to pursue my stolen car. Shortly after, they pulled into a neighborhood and turned the vehicle off. SyncUPDRIVELegacy gave me an exact address which I gave to the 911 operator. As I’m driving to the cars location, multiple cop cars with sirens on pass us heading to the given location. We arrive to find 7 cop cars there with the suspect in hand cuffs.

I was told to approach the scene, and let the officers know that this was my vehicle. I show them the SyncUP Drive application and explained everything. Ended up filling out some paperwork and got my car back right away!

Thanks to the SyncUP drive, I was able to recover my stolen car within 20-minutes. I love the SyncUP and recommend it to anyone!

It can be a great app.

I have come to believe that, the people working on SyncUPDRIVELegacy are amateurs or students learning how to develop an app. It can be a great app, it has great features if only they can work correctly. First example, I received a notification today saying there is an update. When I pushed the update button, it took me into SyncUPDRIVELegacy store. At first I thought I push the wrong button. So I went back and tried it again, but the same happened and i didn’t get SyncUPDRIVELegacy updated. even now it still says I have a new update.
Example two. It’s almost impossible to rest your password without T-Mobile tech guy( and keep in mind only a handful of T-Mobile tech can help you with this issue).
Example three. The maps are terrible compared to the original.
Example four. There is about 30minutes to an hour delay. It supposed to notify you on smarts phone that your cars has started the moment you turn the ignition key or your car is moving. SyncUPDRIVELegacy doesn’t do that, it used to when it was first introduced.
This suppose to get better when there is an update, but SyncUPDRIVELegacy it’s the opposite.

What Happened To Car Icon?

I'be been using this for about 3 uears now. I really like it. When a trip starts and you pull up the map it use to have a little care icon that would track on the map. After the last update it disappeared. Nothing but a thick pink line that tracks the route now in near real time. Not a big deal, just wonder what happened to car icon? Maybe they eliminated it because it was taking too mich to process? It use to even turn in the direction ot was teaveling when the car was making a turn too.

The Hotspot is a great feature I use a lot to stream audio. Speeds are pretty bad most of the time though. 1.5mbps or less. Usually less and thats with 4 or more bars. Not too annoying as it still does the job because the streaming player app lime TuneIn or Sirius All Access will buffer up to compensate for the low bit rate. Still, hotspot should be performing much better than that but I have lived with it.

FIXD, Here I Come...

SyncUPDRIVELegacy created duplicate cars that I had to merge for one of my vehicles. Twice. Then, that car has an ongoing issue (Fiat 500 - needs an oil change bad, and it shows on my dash as a check engine light). After two days SyncUPDRIVELegacy was still showing that the car "had no issues".

Next, since the rep said that it could handle multiple cars, I tried it on my Sonata. After having another "duplicate car" issue created by SyncUPDRIVELegacy , it finally worked. I entered mileage for both cars and named them. "Big Red" for mine, and "Betty" for my wife's Fiat. Cool.

Day three: my wife leaves for work and I get a disturbance and trip notification for my wife's "Betty". Cool. I tap the notification to see SyncUPDRIVELegacy in action, and all of a sudden SyncUPDRIVELegacy crashes the notification but SyncUPDRIVELegacy is still running. Not only is the notification missing now, but "Betty" has disappeared from SyncUPDRIVELegacy into thin air. There's only "Big Red" left as if my wife and her "Betty" have been raptured, and left me here all alone. I want my wife, and her car back, and we're going to get FIXD.

UPDATE:
Now SyncUPDRIVELegacy just gave me a notification that my car "Big Red", the Sonata, has just completed a trip and is now about 20 miles from here. MAYBE MY CAR HAS BEEN STOLEN! I go outside. Nope. My car is still in my driveway.

So far as SyncUPDRIVELegacy is concerned though now, my wife and her car have been raptured, and my Sonata has been stolen, so now I have to get an Uber to go look for all three of them.

Love this thing

I haven’t had any dramatic event since I got this thing except one time a person cleaning the parking lot bumped the car while I was in the store. I checked it out and was pleasantly surprised to see that not only was my car not stolen, but the parking lot was getting cleaned up.

But the best thing that SyncUPDRIVELegacy has done is run diagnostics and alert me of check engine lights and codes. Sure we could buy a tester and stick it on the car whenever the check engine light comes on or take it in to the dealership and pay them to do it but how great it is to not have to do that. We know whether it’s a minor issue that can be taken care of at our leisure or something more urgent. Also love the list of recalls! Who does that!? Not something that you’d think of as a convenience until you have it!

Working from a laptop is amazing when a passenger with the mobile hotspot! What else can I say about having WiFi in your car? We frequently visit family living 1 hour and 2 hours away and the ability to continue working while my husband drives is amazing!

I’m excited for the updates and to see what more SyncUPDRIVELegacy can do! Thank you for continuing to develop!

Pays for itself many times over

The notification of telling where to get the cheapest gas pays for itself a couple times over. Even more savings to help me tag my business trips and expense them. Am sure many sales people lose hundreds of dollars annually - like me - because forgetting to expense mileage. T-Mobile’s SyncUp Drive is a great tool for this. Also hotspot included when I have the kids. Then also get notified on speed, leaving zones. Just recently device told me my check engine light reading was a specific issue with my thermostat- I have that info to my mechanic saving me a service fee for troubleshooting. Time to get another one.

Pretty awesome, a few things to change

First of all, we love our SyncUP Drives. Hotspot on-the-go, roadside assist and a cool dashboard. I cancelled my OnStar and use this exclusively as a much better solution, with way more features than I could get from OnStar in my 2010 Saab and 2008 Audi.
I’ve been waiting for a device like this for ages — so glad someone put diagnostics and WiFi sharing into one simple device. There’s just a few things I’d like to see:

- Crash notification. As others have mentioned disturbance notification isn’t that great, because getting into your car counts as a disturbance. What would be great is if there was a notification of crashes. OnStar knows when air bags are deployed and can send help, SyncUP Drive should at least be able to notify family members (or fleet members) if something bad happens.

- Customization: I get that they’re working with TMobile so they have to use the ugly purple everywhere, but it would be nice if I could assign an app color theme that goes with my car, so it looks like it belongs.

- Fuel level indication doesn’t work in my Audi. Bummer.

Otherwise, off to an awesome start. This thing rocks, and I hope it just keeps getting better!

Only Basic Functionality

The main reason I bought this device was to track business trip mileage. While you CAN tag trips for business you CANNOT filter by business trips, nor can you export your data. Additionally if you are down in the timeline looking at a trip that I’d say a month old, once you back out of that particular trip it bounces back up in the timeline. Today it’s going back to Jan 8, when I was down in December.

I got this device because Automatic shutdown due to the pandemic. Look to what Automatic was doing T-Mobile that’s what your device and app should strive to be. RIP Automatic.

GPS, WU-fi and more functions

Works very well, I made boundaries for home and other and I registered with VIN # and other information that give me codes in case the pick up have any electronic issue. This give me an exact place where I park my pick up. The GPS works 24/7 and never stop working including when I turn off the engine, this still give me the GPS and battery charge when is turn off and running too. Have other functions too like wi-if inside my pick up truck and I can turn on and off the wi-if when I want.
I am very happy of buy this equipment with T-mobile last week.

SyncUP is awesome

We have enjoyed SyncUP from when we signed up for it. It has saved us money on repairs. Helped me locate the vehicle numerous times when I have to find the car when my wife parked it and I need to pick it up.
SyncUP played a key roll...no without SyncUP we would never have found our vehicle when it was stolen! When I showed the police officer I could track my stolen vehicle he was amazed. Once I contacted the right detective he was able to have our vehicle recovered in about 3 hours. Did I mention the vehicle was in Mexico?
If I could make one suggestion on an improvement would be an alarm feature. Where it is not just a little beep when you have a disturbance but, a louder alarm.

The new update

The new update is offering less then the previous Application offered. RPM and all those things that have been removed where the reason why I got this device in the first place. I have Waze to tell me where gas is and I only fill up in select places so I get you are trying to cater to the select drivers who pay little mind to cars and do everything as cheaply as possible but as a car guy I enjoy seeing the additional stats so I know who to yell at for driving my car to aggressively amongst other reasons. The update did make everything visually look more appealing however it feels like half of the features have disappeared all together.

Awesome app

SyncUPDRIVELegacy is really great. A truck hit my car while it was parked and because I got the notification of my car being disturbed, I was able to get the person’s insurance information because I called the police to report it after viewing the damage.

My only pet peeve right now is I have a 2022 Honda Pilot but I have to use a picture of the Odyssey minivan, which I don’t have, because my car isn’t an option right now, which I really don’t understand. Don’t all vehicles have a 2022 model at this point? What’s taking so long? You’ll get back the star I removed once my actual vehicle is available. 🤷🏽‍♀️

For some reason my device isn’t working

I’ve unplugged my device and plugged back in, I was driving tho, but I’m not able to track the car and always says parked. I called the number of the sim that’s in the device, and it says driving now, which the car is being driven. But i think it stopped working again. I think there needs to be an update, possibly with some new features. Like gas prices and how much a trip costs. More setting for the WiFi, like who’s connected, instead of going into the up address. I love the device tho!

Awful app awful product awfully awful customer service

I just spent 35 mins unsuccessfully attempting to get this product to “connect” then another 30 minute wait for T Mobile customer service to finally answer the phone... awful experience buyer beware T MOBILE is awful and their customer service is the worst. I’ve been paying for the past 8 months without even using this product and the rep says they need to look into the account when this is a product issue then when I threaten to have it disconnected I get “oh well I can send a reset signal through” I told her never mind remove it from my account horrible experience with a trash company that takes its customers for granted... you get what you pay for T Mobile won’t be getting my money for too much longer and after that... NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Amazing product!

I have a 2005 Honda Civic and we all know with older cars comes more problems. The sync up drive is amazing! I love the location barriers so I can always see where my car is and a few weeks ago I had a flat tire. I have no idea how to change a flat tire and I was alone. I went onto my app, requested road side assistance and someone came within 30 minutes to where I was parked and changed my flat tire. So much better than waiting for a tow truck. Love it! Thank you T-Mobile!

I love it!!

I have a 1998 car with an electric problem so I can’t register the millages. But SyncUPDRIVELegacy was registering all my path, all my stops and everything else! However, lately, it just shows a straight line from point A to point B. Also, the other day said my car started a trip and I was inside of Walmart. I freaked out and ran to my car to find out that it was parked. There is a huge delay on receiving the info from the car to the phone. I really hope the next update improves the efficiency of the device! Because I love my SyncUP!

I love this app!

This may not work for all vehicles, but it works just fine for mine. I am able to give my wife a heads up when she is out and about and low on fuel. The alerts are accurate and pretty timely, usually less than a minute from occurring. Tracking has been pretty spot on too. If I had a complaint, it would be that SyncUPDRIVELegacy does not always remember my log in (seems to occur after an OS update) so I am unsure which side is in error. Other than that, I recommend it very strongly.
