Great concept, for a terrible network

I was on the fence about switching over to this app-Mobile due to network concerns when I read about the this app-Mobile Test Drive option. T itself is awesome and that’s pretty much where it ends. Just download and install T , setup the eSIM to work with this app-Mobile, and test it for 30 days. It’s that easy! I say easy and I mean it. The test itself was absolutely terrible. The this app-Mobile coverage maps on the company’s website showed excellent 4G coverage in the areas surrounding my house, which are absolutely bold faced lies. I had one bar max and “blazing” speeds of 0.61 Mbps down and 0.10 Mbps up. Sure, I have WIFI for data and calling but if it’s ever down and there’s an emergency, I’m out of luck. The surrounding areas have a little bit coverage but nowhere near the levels that this app-Mobile advertises on their coverage maps. Add in the data breaches and it’s all pretty concerning. The this app-Mobile coverage has become so bad, a local news station did a report on it and the company’s response is “we’re upgrading our towers”. After the Test Drive, removing the link to the eSIM is easy and gets it off your phone without any issues. It saved a lot of headaches switching carriers and then having to switch back.

Buggy

I have an iPhone SE 2 , I was a this app-Mobile customer for 1 day several years ago and brought phone back because poor coverage.
I thought because of sprint merger I might have better coverage in my area. I got the this app-Mobile network test app from T Store and tried to sign in. It said “Hi, we already know you.” But I don’this app have an account so tried several times but was unable to use it. Called this app-mobile help line and waited an hour for a return call. She verified I wasn’this app coming up as a customer, but didn’this app know why it wasn’this app working. I tried again this time with another email address and this time it worked. But with several glitches/app crashing/ having to restart over and over, but finally it said my test run was started. Now I am able to use it but sadly the data speed is less than 2Mbps while Verizon is 140Mbps in same area. So I wanted to check how much data was used and T is not working and going back to saying “Hi we know you “ but not giving any way to see progress on test drive. So hard to use and deal with! Can’this app imagine what it would be like as a actual customer 🙁. I liked the offers they have but not worth it if it doesn’this app work.

Basic functionality, but buggy

T gets 4 stars because it performs its basic function: letting me get a test drive of their network. However it does have bugs. During installation it hung at the end and, even after waiting for 30 minutes, never completed. I had to kill the installation to move on. Now, I can’this app access any of T screens or internal tools, but nevertheless it did install a valid eSIM. For that I’m grateful. It is allowing me to kick the tires on their network, and to ensure I can get decent reception in the areas I care most about. So far, so good, and I probably will switch to this app-Mobile because of the free test.
BTW I do have the latest iPhone hardware and software, so the installation bug is on them. And I don’this app want to retry the installation, as other reviewers reported that that messed up the eSIM test - thinking that it was a second attempt, when you only get one free trial. Bottom line: good, but it could be better.

Locked me out of my phone for 24 hours

If I could give 0 stars I would. I am a straight talk customer and am unfamiliar with this app mobile but was referred from a friend to see if my phone could possibly be compatible for this free 30 day trial. I downloaded app, it scanned my phone and said it WAS compatible and so I continued with setting it up and putting it as my primary and my phone restarted and when I would try and connect to my cellular network to continue the process it would tell me that my SIM card was NOT compatible and that I would either need to insert a this app mobile one or contact Apple to unlock the carrier. I THINK NOT. I stressed all day and night long trying to swipe up and get out of the restart and it wouldn’this app. I thought I was going to have to call Apple to somehow fix my problem. Woke up this morning and it was back to normal, hallelujah. I must be a nimwit because I don’this app have this app mobile so if you don’this app have this app mobile plz don’this app download.

What a Waste of Time!!

Some things to note before we begin: I started out on iOS 14.8, and eventually went to iOS 15 as I progressed through this nightmare.

I installed T just to try out the network. I get the eSIM, and install it. Then the activation hangs. I force quit T and reopen it, and T says the eSIM is not installed. Considering T probably had a bug, I delete the eSIM, and try to reinstall it. Big mistake! The eSIM never installed again.

Called CS for help, and they said they had to send me a new eSIM to fix the problem. Only thing is (1) it didn’this app sync up with T , and (2) it wasn’this app even my eSIM.

Called again, but this time with an Apple Senior Advisor on the line. Took forever to locate a non-existent account. Once they located it, I set a PIN, and then they said I had to speak to sales to delete the trial and get a new one. Every time my advisor from Apple and I explained to these people that were obviously not brought up to speed with the situation from the previous agent, it lead to endless bounces. We eventually gave up after the last bounce put us on an endless hold.

Now if only there was a way to delete the account. I don’this app want it anymore after this terrible experience, so they better do something, so that I can create a new account with a plan I do want.

Overall, a huge waste of time. Never again will I do a test drive with this app-Mobile.

Trial Started

I’m very happy this is finally open so I can test out the network before I make my final decision! Only problem is that I had to restart and delete T 3 times before setting it up because it kept crashing….

Nice offer, but horrible signal and results

While a nice offer and app, and pretty good documentation; the network from my location was useless. I’m in the western Cleveland suburbs near the lake. Only get 1 bar of att in my house, so thought I would try this app-Mobile on my iPhone 11 Max. Got two bars of signal on this app-mobile, but speeds and internet access useless. On this app-Mobile Speedtest from inside was 0.02 down and 0.01 up. Outside. 6 down, 2 up. Att for comparison was 35 down and 10 up inside and 50 down and 15 up outside. My iPhone 11 max is not 5G, but why worry with this app-mobile, top speed was 2 down and 1 up, never got higher than that. Not my phone, since on WiFi I get 650 down.

So nice try, but my location just seems useless.

Former T-Mobile user, won’t let me test.

I left this app-Mobile several years ago because although I loved the price and this app-Mobile, where I moved to I had barely any signal in my home even with a cell spot. The engineers back then said there were no towers near me so I was out of luck. Fast forward to now and I saw T and figured what a good way to see if signal has improved being it’s been about 5 years and with expansion and such maybe there’s better signal. After downloading and installing T when I enter my info, it tells me I’m already a customer and to log in to my account and that the test drive doesn’this app apply to me. Haven’this app been a customer in years so that’s a fail. Oh well.

Terrible App

T worked great at first. It let me at up my e-sim and it connected to the network, but I when I tried to load anything my phone told me I wasn’this app connected to a network even though I had full bars. I tried to remove the trial number and add it back to my phone to see if this would fix the problem, but T wouldn’this app give me the option to put the number back on my e-sim. I tried calling customer service, and after being transferred 9 times, I was provided with the number to support that I called in the first place. I’m definitely not going to switch networks, if this is how their app and customer service work.

Update available

I just downloaded T to try for esim, put my information in and now it’s stuck trying to update to the newer version of T when I just downloaded T 2 minutes ago. I uninstalled and reinstalled and it’s stuck trying to ask me to update to a newer version for iOS. this app-mobile got my personal information but won’this app let me test drive. Currently with a physical Verizon sim with a 12 pro max. I don’this app see an issue on my end. I really wanted to try this app-mobile before I switched but this seems inconvenient and this is my first impression of this app-mobile. I’m having second thoughts if their trial app is buggy like this.

Can’t do it!

So I get an email that I’m 14 days into the 30 days test drive. FALSE… T has major issues and will not connect to give me a eSim number. Called support 15 times, went to the a store. Talked to tech support. Store knows nothing. Tech support knows about defect but no solution. Support staff are less then worthless. Known issues and they are still offering the trial that can’this app be activated. Not the best way to attract customers. Especially when calling the support team you find out you know more then they do.

Will not allow you to use if already have an e-sim in place.

I have 12 Pro Max with a basic Verizon plan on my esim as a backup to my main line. I was hoping to be able to try this as an additional esim to see if TMob might be a better backup option. But it warned me it would deactivate my existing esim. It should be able to add as an additional esim account such that I could toggle between it and Verizon. But oh well. Guess that’s not how they set it up. So no trial for me.

So far so good

T is great. Had a couple buggy issues at first during setup. Now that it’s setup T keeps saying there’s an update. However, the updated app is the one I downloaded as the update was from three days prior. Might need to push another update to fix this bug issue. Overall so far so good.

Doesn’t work after update

I want to try their service and when I open T it says in need to update T to the current version and takes me to T Store. I download the new app and it keeps saying I need to update to the new app even tho I did. A reboot did nothing and I deleted T .

Also, I test drove the network in June and I can’this app try it again even tho it is past the 6 month waiting period. Very frustrating. Guess I can’this app test it out and won’this app switch.

Would not activate

Tried to activate via my VZW data connection that was very good. My phone (iPhone 11 Pro) passed. I tried again when I connected to WiFi 400mb connection. T states I have 30 days of a 30 day trial (it has said this for a week). I do not have an option to retry activate. It just takes me to the this app-Mobile website. this app-Mobile support is less than useless. Hard to want to change to a new provider that has a broken process and bad support.

Beware of scam calls

Yes, we all know how to recognize scam calls. The problem is now that I’m test driving this service, I’m issued a secondary phone number. This secondary phone number gets BOMBARDED with scam calls all day. More than 30 scam calls before my shift at work is over. The phone is constantly ringing. I tried all the “do not call” things I could do. They just keep coming. I will not be tearing it the whole 30 days.

Innovative

They give you a new phone number and set it up for you so you can bounce back from your carrier to this app-Mobile. I tested my carrier versus this app-Mobile in a ton of places and really thought this was a great way to try out this competitor.

Meh

I used this test drive as a way to compare to my current provider Verizon. The coverage map looks great in the OKC area but the network performance is lacking from what they claim. Consistently less bars and slower than my current provider. I appreciate being able to test before buying but after 2 days of the test drive I am deleting T and removing the esim from my phone. There’s no way I will try and use 30gb of data at these speeds.

Easy setup and great Interface

T is just 3 step set up with very user friendly interphase and it’s provide awesome network coverage .I am defiantly going to switch to this app mobile network after trail period.

By

Absolutely terrible

T says I have 9 days left and that my line is “active”. Yet after resetting my phone, the option to add the test drive network doesn’this app show up.. basically my days are numbered for a network that won’this app pop up on my iPhone to add to my cellular plan. Worked on the first day, then it never activated again. this app-mobile is useless.

Excellent!

30 GB of coverage for free! Wow, that’s a whole month. And it includes 5g!

Frustrating failure

Does not work on my unlocked iPhone SE 2020. Can’this app find anyone in this app-Mo, either on phone or in person with corporate store manager, who is knowledgeable regarding this test drive to get it to work on my phone. The test was only successful in demonstrating the incompetence of this app-mobile.
