Best app for caring for aging parents

I researched several apps before landing on this one, and its been amazing! I have 4 siblings and we have 2 parents who live separately and both need assistance. Each of my parents has their own profile and calendar so we can input appointments and we can “sign up” for things like dentist appt, etc. We’ve been able to scan all their meds and put in insurance and dr contact info. It’s great if we’re picking up a prescription and they have a question or if we’re at a dr appointment and need to pull up info. The journal has been the best part. You can sign up for notifications whenever someone writes in the journal and then comment, etc. It’s such a great way to keep us all connected and updated since we all have busy lives and families, etc. I use CareZone on my phone mostly but have also used it on my computer at work. Both work great! I recommend this to people I meet at my dad’s nursing facility all the time! It’s been a life saver and I like having it separate from my regular texts so I know when it’s something specific to my parents. Plus it archived it there so we can always go back and reference.

Won’t leave me alone

I recently looked for an app to track my meds. I downloaded and tried several. Didn’t like this one it was too much about ads and paid services and that interfered with my main goal. I do understand that free apps are funded somehow and I don’t object to ads or other means of satisfying the funding requirements. I do however object when it’s implemented on an intrusive manner. I ended up choosing a different product, cleared my data, and removed CareZone. I was not at any point given the choice to opt in to email communication. Since removing CareZone , I’ve received an email every day (too often even if I’m USING CareZone ). And every day I click on unsubscribe which promises that I am unsubscribed. Next day same again. Wash rinse and repeat. Why bother even putting one there if it’s ineffective? Between claims of the being easy to use when it wasn’t and then the repeated emails and disregard of unsubscribe requests, I’m not feeling very trusting. Am I willing to trust CareZone with my health info while I poke around settings in order to stop the unwanted email? Not no but H no.

Developer, I want to be crystal clear. The problem is not that I do not know how to tweak settings. The problem is that the unsubscribe does not function as promised. Telling me how to fix it or fixing it for me won’t address the failure itself, only the results. I can do that myself — by reporting these emails as spam.

Fantastic tool for families needing help

It’s overwhelming enough to be a caregiver but trying to keep everyone on the same page regarding appointments, meds and health stats can be a major stressor. CareZone makes it a lot easier to track for the whole family. Once you input everything, all the essential info you need to help keep your loved one’s care and comfort is at your fingertips- whether you’re trading off caregiving duties within the family or you’re in an emergency situation and need to access info fast for medical staff. CareZone is incredible and brings a sense of control to a situation that’s anything but. I found imputing important information was painless, as CareZone ’s easy to use functionality allows you to import key phone numbers, photos of ID cards, docs, etc as well as pull up commonly prescribed medications. The Med list and always current calendar is also super useful. Do yourself a favor, spend a few hours getting set up and you’ll feel it was well worth it.

Best App for Caregivers

We love using this app! It’s a quick way to track certain measurements, look st and print medication schedule or list for doctors, or write a few lines in the journal. We also upload documents, and use it to keep up with insurance cards, calendar events especially medical appointments, etc. There are many more features that others would find useful including pharmacy delivery. It’s easy to give other family members or caregivers secure access. You can assign events or To-do list to a specific person. Once you have something wonderful, you start seeing even more potential. So, now I wish there were a few more things to track, and print a graph. Our loved ones’ doctor wants a daily weight, with a list brought to the doctor. You can print such a list, but the graph doesn’t print. I also wish we could track INR level for Coumadin users, and number of falls. But we love CareZone.

Most of the info but not everything

This is the first app I’ve used to keep track of my 14+ prescriptions. I like that it takes pictures of the labels and adds the doctors name to the prescription list of what each doctor prescribed and how many milligrams that are in each medication and where the prescriptions were filled (Humana) with their phone number. I wish that the remaining number of prescriptions would be recorded, when they were written and how many tablets/capsules/pills were given out. I think that just a little more info from each label is needed to make it a perfect app to suit everyone in the future. I recently moved and I’m going to need a new primary care giver and endocrinologist so all of this info will be needed within the next 90 days for refills/new prescriptions to be written.

I Love This App!

All I wanted was a place for my meds for when I have to go to a specialist or a new doctor and I didn’t like the idea of caring a price of paper or even put it in my notes. I also had a medical electronic bracelet that had a list which was impossible to read without getting rid of the meds you wanted to keep on the list it has a feature that does more and you can pay for it. CareZone not only lets me take pictures of each label of each med I can tell CareZone what time of day I take each med. CareZone also tells me when its time to reorder my meds. I love this feature but I do have a great pharmacy that calls me when its time. If though they ever changed their policy on calling to remind me to renew my med. I am very glad that this feature of reminding me is there

Great App!

This pharmacy along with its App is so easy to use and they help me keep track of my meds and my Dr.s. I can bring up CareZone when I’m at any Dr appointment for information about the medication I’m on and the names and contact information of the specialist that I see and who my Primary Dr is. It’s all right at my fingertips. My medications are delivered right to my door. They let me know when they have been sent and I can track them right to my door. They remind me when it’s time for a refill. They always wait until the correct day of the month to extract my payment. They are courteous and helpful if I have a problem or questions. I love this company and their App!

It blew me away!

As a family of four, plus managing the care needs of two sets of parents (mine & the in-laws), it had been a challenge to find an app that really helps us to track all of our medical information in one place. But, CareZone does just that and more. I was blown away by the simplicity and practicality of CareZone . I highly recommend this for anyone who is a caregiver or just trying to manage all of their medical information. My only recommendation would be to for them to allow you the ability to print the medication list from a desktop and not just via your mobile device.

Making Something Stressful a Joy

this app turned the difficult task of keeping all my family members apprised of the ongoing health care issues for my Father a joy.

I was able to record things in the moment (photos, anecdotes, visits) and share them with my family while also recording questions, caregiver questions and comments with everyone.

As my Father’s health deteriorated, we also added his Nurse Care Manager to CareZone so we could get her immediate feedback on his care. This was immensely valuable.

Finally, this app provided us with a holistic view of my Dad’s care so we could all see — and track — how he was doing.

In a big family like ours, this was invaluable.

As he has now passed, it helped my mourning process to be able to look back at the recent past and see how he changed over the past few months and come to closure.

Thank you, this app for making something that was so stressful a joy! I really appreciate it and recommend it to everyone!!

Just another trick to sell stuff at you

The medication entry is lousy. It doesn’t know any meds, so you have to make up your own dose: it would be fine with you adding ‘aspirin 912.3 grams’ or whatever. So there’s no guide/safety of limiting your med to actually available strengths. Also no way to put in if you take a half tablet, or 2 capsules or anything. It’s just “take ranitidine”
BUT . . . The developers have LOTS of excellent reminders about how you can sign up for THEIR mail-order pharmacy! That’s the whole point - to get you to switch to their mailorder, like all the other stupid companies that want to add you to their list of numbers and ignore you as a person. Forget it - staying with my local pharmacy and the REAL people who actually care to help me.
CareZone is just bait to get people to sign up for their lousy mailorder pharmacy. Delete it.

Best Decision I’ve Made RE: Medications

I was skeptical at first, but my decision to order all of my medications from care zone has been a blessing.
I have a busy and hectic lifestyle and pulling up to order refills and make time to fill them, has been a real problem.
Now I have this wonderful app that lists all of my meds and supplements and reminds me when to take what. I also don’t have to remember when to buy more, the Pharmacy auto fills and sends them directly to my door.
I really appreciate the friendly staff who are personable and helpful.
And for those who are cost conscious like me, the prices are great as well!

Helps me keep everything straight!

My husband has heart issues and the trackers help me keep track of his basics. The medication portion is fantastic to have at my fingertips and the clinic and hospital love it! My dad is 90 and in a nursing hone but my mom and I are the ones who go to appointments with him. He wouldn’t know what meds he takes so again love that portion. My mom is 84 and getting metastatic reoccurring breast cancer and I’m the one who goes to most of her appointments with her so love the trackers to be able to see where her labs, vitals and weight are staying! And with CareZone, I can keep it all straight and at my fingertips!

It truly is a lifesaver for a Mom like me.

I have two children, both asthmatic and both have migraines. One has sleeping difficulties. Their med list is extensive and their incidents many. CareZone tracked it all. From all the doctor/specialists contact info, to scanning all their meds without manual entry (thank you) to tracking headache incidents for the Neurologist. CareZone has it all.

Mind you, YOU HAVE TO GO TO SETTINGS TO ADJUST NOTIFICATIONS!!! If you don’t, you’ll likely delete CareZone and move on! The notices can get obnoxious. BUT you can set them! So the only downside to CareZone I found is easily fixable!

Amazing

I have to keep up with not only my Med list but also my husband, daughter and my parents. When it comes to my mom; that is one long long list. Trying to keep them written and change frequently was a difficult task and even though I kept the list in my purse never made it easy to put my hands on. When I found CareZone it made this task so much better. I can change list as soon as Dr makes changes while in the office. I no longer have to get upset with myself because I have problems finding a list

App is all workarounds

Medication lists out of date. Medication allergies don’t print on reports. The developers or owners of CareZone respond and tell you do to this “workaround”
or that “workaround” for the apps shortcomings. their focus is more on selling 3rd party apps to order meds and insurance quotes instead of providing a solid working medication/health tracking app. Every doc wants to know your meds and allergies and support says you have to list it as an Active med and type “Allergy” as the med name because they don’t print in separate section on the reports. Reports also only print Active and Inactive med lists
(there is no way to print just a simple list of active meds and allergies. it always prints inactive. docs don’t care what your not taking
