Test is a sham
I took it to “renew” my contacts and when I was all ready to checkout they push their own brand and say its better than what I have - better than what I just tested so I could purchase (Acuvue 1-Day Define). So I click to get the free samples of “Aquasoft brand” and it says I need to take the whole test over. Begrudgingly, I do so and I find that the EXACT SAME 4 letters for each eye and both eyes are used. I literally just repeated everything from memory. And I thought I was supposed to wear the contacts for the photos which I attempted with my initial “Renewal”, but obviously could not get photographed wearing the new ones, but they say they’re going to review and send out my free samples anyway. The whole experience makes me think this is a scam! There’s no way that this “test” did anything to improve me; it’s just another company pushing their product OVER the brand supplied at my doctor’s office for free. Wonder what companies like Acuvue think of them having me change my order and retake the “test”? I guess I’ll try out the Aquasoft since they have now “prescribed” that for me and the first 2 weeks are free, but I’m uncertain how it can be called a prescription since the test is sooooo very crappy and the pictures of my eyes are before ever wearing the new contacts?
BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE ANYWHERE!
1800 Contacts went ABOVE & BEYOND to help me when I had a shady eye doctor who would only order ONE type of lenses from ONE company even when I told him the three month lenses he insisted I needed last time didn’t work after 3-4 weeks. Then when 1800 Contacts would try to call to get the prescription so THEY could help me, the Dr’s office would never answer the phone.I had to go to the Dr’s office & demand he give me my prescription. Even though 1800 Contacts doesn’t have samples, your eye dr is supposed to let you try samples until you find the ones that work for you... 1800 Contacts sent me 30 packs of MANY contacts knowing I’d be trying them out & sending the rest back until I found what worked for me. They were so wonderful! They have my ultimate respect and support. They are a fantastic company who really care about their clients. They deserve TEN STARS!
Amazing app and customer service
So, I’ve read great things about this company, but having seen it firsthand today, I can say for sure this is the best customer service I’ve ever experienced. (Sorry, I didn’t get the employee name) I ordered my dailies (which were just added as an option last week!) hoping to get them before my upcoming trip. After receiving shipping confirmation from the app I checked the tracking section. In trying to track the package it wouldn’t show up on UPS website, so I text customer service right away. Mind you this is all done within the app. After the immediate automated response I was informed that my order was indeed on its way but because of the time constraint a second order would be overnighted to me, guaranteeing I’ll receive them before I head out. Very friendly and helpful staff here, I would recommend this app to everyone. As far as the app itself goes, it’s so intuitive and easy to use, a sure reflection of the helpful and knowledgeable staff. They contacted my doctor for my Rx confirmation. And just like that they’re on the way. A million thanks and kudos to 1-800 Contacts. Y’all are the best!
Great but not so great.
I have used 1-800 contacts in the past and have never had an issue. I tried ordering contacts and for some reason when I did my first order it would not let me update my eye doctor. I called to handle it over the phone. We went through the entire process of having to reorder the contacts with the right doctor information which really wasn’t a big deal. The part that I have an issue with is that the contacts that the person helped me reorder were completely wrong and not what I had originally placed. So now for a third time I am having to place an order and wait for money to be returned into my account and so forth. I don’t understand how he got it wrong from the information he originally had. It’s just a huge hassle and wish I had done it myself. I just thought maybe it would be easier to call. I was wrong.
Literally about to cry
I am not the best adult, I am super busy and constantly working with little to no time allowed off from my job. I’ve attempted to set up appts at my current optometrist’s office during lunch when I do have time and the wait time took so long I had to leave each time to go back to work. I only have one day off when they’re open and that time is spent either me sleeping the day away trying to recuperate my body through five days of non stop 12 to 14 hour shifts or cleaning the house to pick up after my family. Thank you guys so much. You have no idea how much you’ve helped with allowing the fast exam and ordering a subscription for my lenses. Seriously- thank you so much!!
I rarely write reviews, but this app really exceeded my expectations. It was super user-friendly. I did have to call in (twice actually😬) to ask a question about insurance...and then later because I didn’t choose expedited shipping like I’d wanted. Both times that I talked to their customer service they were excellent! Both team members were extremely polite and eager to help. The whole process was so smooth and my contacts came exactly when promised. In hindsight I wish I’d written down the names of who I spoke to so they could be recognized. Three members of my household wear contacts. I know where I will be purchasing them in the future.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this
I figured I’d try this app out to expedite getting contacts— I couldn’t express my regret in that choice more. I entered the prescription, paid for it, then they could verify my prescription since they had the wrong location on file. I decided to cancel the order, then two days later they debited my account anyway and are telling me there is a 30 day hold on the funds. What’s the point of having my enter my prescription when they couldn’t verify it properly to send me contacts in the first place? It’s been about a week and a half now and all I’m left with is a 30 day hold on my bank account. I wasn’t using insurance either, so I paid out of pocket. I will NEVER recommend this company nor use their services again. All it did was cause me more problems than I started with. My suggestion is to just use your doctor and not this ridiculous company.
I have always been so happy with this company, however a few months ago I ordered my contacts - thought they were right and wore them for months. I kept throwing them away bcs I thought they were dirty or something was wrong. Went through most of my boxes then reordered. When the next boxes came I noticed the prescription was different from the one I had been wearing as it turns out I couldn’t see well bcs they had sent me an old prescription and it wasn’t enough power. Long story short my eyes have been bothering me since then. I just had to have my power increased bcs my eyes are now even worse than before.. I’m giving them one more chance bcs mistakes can happen but I will definitely pay more attention and check them before I wear them.
Upgrades and loyalties?
I've been a customer for over a decade, and can't help but wonder where are the new colors this year? I've always been excited to see the newest additions of awesome looking pigments, and possibly lower prices on older items? Besides that, I have lenses I paid very good money for, that are stacked up in a drawer because I can't wear them. Same brand, same power, but are so uncomfortable or blurry that I cannot use them. I'm ordering the same amount listed for a discount, but because I'm getting them only for one eye, I don't qualify for a discount. And why is it that the last order, the lenses for my left eye were unwearable, but the other eye was fine? Can I still send them back? Nothing wrong with my eyes, the lenses for my left eye were bad.
Ive dealt with 1800 contacts for awhile, Their prices are dfinitely higher than the competition. As a matter of fact, You can find multitudes of companies that can best them in prices. Here’s why I pick 1800 contacts over the competition. 1. I put these things in my eyes, I want the best quality to interact with. 1800 has always sent clean and fresh contacts. 2. The communication is incredibly efficient and heart warming. Very much so they are very helpful with questions, concerns, and complaints. I always feel like an important client when I talk with their representatives. 3. I can rely on them. I need these things to work, drive, and live. I have seriously bad eyesight, it wont get better. I am comfortable this company will give me fresh uncompromised contacts to wear, to take care of sending my package in a timely fashion, and I can trust they will take care of my concerns. I would rather pay the higher price of 1800 because Of the quality of every aspect of their company, and the peace of mind that it provides. Go with them, they are a good choice.
Living in a big city finding a good eye doctor that isn’t going to over charge you is like trying to find a needle in a hay stack. Last night at 10:30 PM I realized I had 1 contact left and that was for my right eye my left eye contacts were completely out. I panicked because I didn’t want to go to the eye dr and spend a fortune and when was I even going to have time!? So I decided to give 1-800-contacts a try and it was the best thing I ever did. I got to renew my prescription right on my phone and reordered contacts they shipped the very next day! I was just so happy I called my mom and told her she had to do it!
Super simple. I used an Rx and they verified with my doctor. Even when I didn’t have an Rx I was still able to get the prescription off the contacts I had with me and then they did the rest. They do have my brand. My prescription change so frequently so it’s nice to just be able to input the new info into the app and then let them handle the rest. Honestly I’ve been really happy with this app and I’ve been using for about 3 years. Ive never written a review before but I thought this one was necessary thanks for creating this app, it’s literally the most important app I have on my phone.
Unbelievable experience, well done 1-800Contacts
It was an incredible experience. Every 1.5-2 years I go to 1-800Contacts to order contacts and it stinks when my prescription is expired and I have to book an appointment and go to an eye doctor during business hours and renew a prescription that hasn’t changed in 20 years. 1800c took the most friction in their process that most companies would say “I have no control over that” and solved it. I did an eye exam in my iPhone app at home at 8 pm and was done in 5 minutes! Hats off to the product people, really well done.
First time ordering and I’ll never order anywhere else.
This is the first review I’ve ever written about anything. My optometrist gave me the wrong prescription and I ordered the contacts. When I got them I read the box and discovered the prescription was off. I called support and they contacted my optometrist, received a new prescription, and sent me the correct contacts with next day shipping for free. They included a return label in the box to return the wrong contacts for free. They did this all within an hour. Outstanding customer service.
Fails to show you the expiration date of your prescription!
While they send you plenty of emails telling you that “your prescription is ending soon,” NOWHERE in the app can you find the ACTUAL expiration date of your prescription! So those unhelpful emails just look like spammy marketing emails. Wanted to order some new contacts soon but missed the deadline by A FEW DAYS because I was having surgery. Hey 1-800 Contacts: if you showed us the actual expiration date I could’ve ordered before having surgery. Now I have to wait until I can afford both the Dr visit and the contacts before buying new ones. My eyes will be killing me until then. Major failure on the part of the app creators. Otherwise I would’ve given 4 stars.
