I love being able to listen to the Tom & Curley Show and Dori Monson. For people complaining about the ad that automatically plays at the beginning, exit out of KIRONewsradio973FM as soon as it starts and go back into it and press play again. That will let you skip the repetitive ad. KIRONewsradio973FM is slightly glitchy, giving you a playback error at times. The thing I wish they'd do is to remember what spot you were at when you pause or stop so that you don't have to go back in and search for where you were at. My love of the 9am-3pm kiro radio programming overcomes these glitches though.

KIRONewsradio973FM itself is ok. You have to play commercials to make money, I get it. It’s annoying, but I hope everyone understands the necessity. I listen to KIRO live and through podcasts and KIRONewsradio973FM lets me listen live without the radio. All day today (9/6/21), however, it’s been crashing. The broadcast plays for maybe 20 seconds, then either crashes itself or my phone. Please fix!

The update, about a week ago, has ruined KIRONewsradio973FM. It now makes you listen to an extra commercial before you get to content... and it already seems like more commercials than actual content.
The worst is it constantly keeps just stopping.... and usually right when the news begins, you sure won’t be missing any commercials. You then need to restart and get to listen to the extra commercial again.
I will be trying to listen through TuneIn radio app or some other way.
I so hope they fix this.
Please fix!

App is garbage! My wife and I both have the same I-phones and enjoy listening to Dori and Tom And Curley. It mysteriously stopped loading on my phone yet still works on my wife's. I’ve tried multiple time to delete KIRONewsradio973FM and reload it to no avail. Very frustrating so gave my phone to my IT Dept (daughter) and asked her to figure it out. She couldn’t fix it either and commented that KIRONewsradio973FM is poorly rated which got my attention. I went in and read the reviews and sounds like me and many others have the same issue with KIRONewsradio973FM not loading.

Update: if you start the audio stream so the ad starts, turn off your screen so the ad stops, then press play at the bottom of the screen it will stop the Subaru ad from playing repeatedly. Devs need to test their app better ;)

1. KIRONewsradio973FM constantly and consistency asks to enable push notifications and does not have an option to not ask again
2. KIRONewsradio973FM too easily stops audio and requires intervention to start streaming if let’s say an ad while browsing the internet wants to automatically play some audio or video

If you use KIRONewsradio973FM to stream podcasts of the shows, don’t update to this version! I made the mistake of doing so with their sister station KTTH. The shows are no longer listed by hour in chronological order, and they no longer auto play into the next hour. This makes KIRONewsradio973FM useless for streaming in the background, say while driving or at work, unless you can afford to stop what you’re doing every 30 minutes and play the next hour.

The readable content is great and I keep having hopes for KIRONewsradio973FM with each update but they still can't seem to make it stream radio unless you're connected to Wi-Fi and even then it sporadically stops broadcasting and you need to close and restart KIRONewsradio973FM to get it working again.

Curiously enough I can go to the KIRO Radio website and Stream the radio station live from there without a Wi-Fi connection.

I love to listen to my favorite radio shows with KIRONewsradio973FM on my phone. I listen live, but mostly to podcasts. KIRONewsradio973FM stopped working last night and is still not working 14 hours later. It opens, but closes. I have deleted it and reloaded with no success. It won’t work on my table or husband’s phone either.

The way that I get KIRONewsradio973FM to work is by turning off my WiFi, then pressing play. At this point the Carter-Subaru ad will start playing, but you can start the steam by pressing play again on the banner at the bottom of the screen. The ad can then be stopped by exiting KIRONewsradio973FM and the show will continue to stream. Lastly, you can turn your WiFi back on and Bob’s your uncle.

Disappointing how seldom the news stories are updated. Some stories stay in the feed for days-weeks. I know KIRO is reporting new stories daily, why is this updated so randomly? Also, the scroll through the headlines is no longer smooth since the last update/change. Annoying.

I use KIRONewsradio973FM on my frequent drives between Portland and Seattle. It's great for continuing to listen to the shows when you drive out of range.

Here are some things that need fixing -
KIRONewsradio973FM will stop streaming until you go into KIRONewsradio973FM and play the ad
Any incoming text or notification also seems to stop KIRONewsradio973FM and require a restart or go into KIRONewsradio973FM to play the ad

All this fumbling around while driving is inconvenient and makes KIRONewsradio973FM feel broken and interrupts the listening experience frequently.

I was so looking forward to being able to listen 24/7 if I wanted to. Currently, I listen from 9am to 6pm but only when I’m near a radio. But for reasons that are not clear, KIRONewsradio973FM just won’t work. I get an error message each time I try to open. I live on the east side so location shouldn’t be an issue. I deleted and downloaded a second time without fixing. I hate missing Dori and Seahawk news.

What a buggy mess. It won’t let me stream podcasts from last week. They sacrificed basic functionality to fix the glitch that let you skip KIRONewsradio973FM -specific ad placement. Why do mobile listeners need to hear an extra advertisement? We already hear every commercial from Kars4Kids to Patriot Software just like everyone using the radio.

Somewhere in the last update or two your app really tanked. Tried to listen live today for football and got and error message. Also couldn’t listen to any of the other shows. Same error. Deleted app and tried again. Same result. Don’t waste your time in KIRONewsradio973FM if they aren’t going to keep it up to date and fix problems.

Everytime I want to listen to dori Monson show, KIRONewsradio973FM takes all day to open or work at all! It’s a miracle at all if I get to listen to anything on this terrible app. It dose not matter if your on a good network like Verizon or at home using WIFI it won’t work. It just won’t work. I’m sad now.. please fix it and let me annoy the KIRO radio so I can have a fruitful day..

After their most recent update it actually doesn’t work at all. According to an App coding buddy of mine, they inserted a penalty function that kicks you out if you mute the sound during commercials forcing you to log in again. I asked why do that and he said it’s for ratings. The record every log in to KIRONewsradio973FM as a new unique listener.

I don’t know what happened to KIRONewsradio973FM in the last week, but if you are listening to a show on demand & pause it for ANY reason (i.e., an earbud falls out, you have to take a call, you just need to PAUSE it) the 30 second ad with Curly & his glasses come on.
I understand advertising, but do YOU understand pausing? I want to boycott K2 Vision just because of this.
Ridiculous.

Every minute or so it would not stream. So I would need to close and open again. Plus super long commercials that you have to wait 30 seconds or more only to freeze. To make it worse once it works most of the time the DJ’s are on commercial break which takes 5-10 minutes longer. What!???

Both my husband and I are unable to use KIRONewsradio973FM . We both have iPhones and live in Tacoma. We can open KIRONewsradio973FM , but can’t get anything to play. We just get an error message that it’s some kind of interface issue. Doesn’t seem to matter where we are. No problem streaming through Safari online. Tried to delete and reinstall. No bueno.

I mainly used KIRONewsradio973FM to stream podcasts, but since I updated it recently it doesn’t work anymore. Is there a way to uninstall an update?

A lot of reviews talk about a repeating ad but they must have fixed it because I haven’t heard any ad be repeated yet. And there isn’t many ads overall. KIRONewsradio973FM is 4 out of 5 and the programming is 6 out of 5 which rounds out to a solid 5 stars!

Needs WiFi connection to work with any consistency. Only station app that I cannot walk , mow the yard and listen to.

Works great on my iPhone 6 and iphone 8, i listen to it for hours every day on both wifi and cellular data

This station used to have the perfect content. Early morning news, then balanced commentary from left and right leaning hosts throughout the day. They still have news but from 9-12 it is left leaning PC and they suspended Dori from 12-3 because of the liberal Seattle cancel culture. Not using app or listening to SEAHAWKS until things change.

I try to use KIRONewsradio973FM in the last 4 months “playback error” I have checked for updates, none. It used to be a great app. Now pretty much useless. I guess it costs too much to run an app lately. Several local stations have shut theirs down and have joined a hosting app. Too bad.

I've tried to listen to Seahawks games 2 years and a row now and every time I get a playback error KIRONewsradio973FM hasn't been updated in 2 years and still had the same issues. Really wish they would stop promoting it on the radio.

When attempting to listen to live broadcast I get a playback error. And have every time I’ve tried it over the past couple of years. Wish that they would fix it.
