After trading on both Binance and Coinbase (gdax) and having problems with both apps (including receiving a CP2000 from the IRS due to Coinbase carelessly sending gross proceeds from all transactions I’ve made 😡 instead of just the gains), I am so thrilled to have my crypto account with this app. They operate like a financial institution and the company provides retail investors with a high-touch platform and the customer care to buy and sell Bitcoin. River is by far superior than any other crypto app. If you’re a serious Bitcoin trader, you should be using River!

This is hands-down the best way to purchase Bitcoin. The UI is clear, simple, elegant, and intuitive. You don’t get confused by the listings of multiple coins, or have to toggle between buying bitcoin and other assets like stocks in other apps. For buying bitcoin, this is the way to go. I also love the prominent customer support feature right at the bottom, where you can get in touch with the this app team easily. You can do a one time purchase or set up a recurring buy. Two thumbs up!

Don’t lose your BTC because the other firm holding it cannot guarantee it will be available when you want to withdraw, because that firm is using your BTC for risky aspects of their business model. this app doesn’t engage is such tactics, and it is built to withstand bear markets and fully capitalize bull markets.

I set up the account and tested it with $50 to buy BTC and then they emailed me to say they closed my account. I attempted to contact them now 4 times and when I call the phone number they reply with nobody is working in the office today. Please try again later or email them. I’ve sent 4 emails so far for an explanation of why they closed my account and where’s my money I sent them and I get no response. A word of warning to anyone who tries to use River: you’re taking a big risk as they’re stealing your money and you can’t contact them! Good luck and be careful!

It’s really frustrating for River to resist my phone number so many times only to tell me “failed to add phone”. Had my digits correct and everything but you failed to add my number somehow. I don’t think I’ll ever recommend anyone to use this glitch of an app ever again.

Not sure why there are so many 5 star reviews. This is the only crypto app where there is a hold on your currency for 6-12 days. They don’t make it clear. No one else does this, not even banks. Not for people that want to trade and transfer. Be warned
