I discovered HyreCarDriver by Google search. I was at a downfall in my life after a car accident that happened. My car is now in the car repair shop to fix the damages and I needed a rental to help me with my everyday life such as work and getting my children to school so with that being said, I have to leave a review about who I rented a car from using the Hyre app. I’m from Carrollton Ga. Once I searched for a rental near by, I was recommended to several car on Hyre App. Sharnea B. Car stood out the most to me because first, it’s a gas saver. Second, I have never drove an up to date car in my life so I had to give it a chance for once and third, all the very cool technologies built in this car. My brother is who was maybe to take me to this rental. On the way there, his car broke down 20 minutes away. I called her and told her the situation and she came and brought me the rental car y’all and handed me the key once she arrived. She asked me was everything okay and did we get a tow and I replied yes. She is so great with communicating with me with information or anything that I needed to know while renting her car. She is quick to respond and very polite and understanding. I will always rent a car from her!! This is a great app to use due to the prices. I want to thank her a million times for everything she has done for me!! You’re the best 😁

Borderline ripoff

It took two weeks to get into the car I got because the owners are all so flakey and many of the cars weren’t actually available or the owners don’t respond at all.

The car was filthy and unsafe to drive but I didn’t have any other options considering how hard it was to get and kept it for a week. It was over $50 a day total even though the rate for the car was only $28. The car also had been banned from usage by Lyft but I was able to get them to reactivate it for me somehow. Lyft is ok with it I guess but it’s technically not allowed which HyreCar doesn’t address head on. Most of the cars I don’t think can be used for Uber it seemed and didn’t have inspection papers for Uber.

I was also promised a $75 gift card for my first rental but I still haven’t received it yet although it said you have to contact support to request it. That’s the next issue, support is nonexistent in HyreCarDriver . The chat function on my iPhone 13 pro doesn’t work at all and messages just disappear into a blank screen. So there’s no way to get a hold of anyone. I did however receive several phone calls after I registered and before I tried to start renting but after I got the rental I haven’t been able to contact the company is weeks. Will update this review if the gift card is a scam. I probably wouldn’t do it again unless I really had to.

Overpriced and Unprofessional!

When I First received my rental I thought it was a great concept I was able to pick the car that I would like to drive and still be able to make money. Boy was I wrong. First of all the rental fees are ridiculous I rented a car for 55/day with the fees added to 80/day. In addition, on the day I returned my rental the owner never ends the rental so I was charged another day. When I call customer service they have to reach out to the owner via email and wait for a response for them to process a refund. Wait it gets better the refund process takes 2-10 business days smh. After the incident I decided to give hyre car another try. This time this owner begins the rental before I pick up the rental. So I was paying for a car that was not in my possession. When I returned the car I informed the owner and drops the car off at his home. The owner does not end the rental and I was charged another day once again. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY BY ANY MEANS!!!! It’s not worth it instead of making money you will lose money. The system is designed to please the owner instead of the renter. Fees are through the roof and at with the mileage cap on the vehicles it’s impossible to turn any profit on the Uber or Lyft platform. I hope this company goes out of business so they can stop taking advantage of drivers. I will be reporting this company to the BBB and never renting from them again!

Screwed up my car won’t pay

So Woman rents my car for a month and she wouldn’t pay for the last two weeks. They claimed that they would have to pay every day in advance or a week in advance but once they already have your car they have your car. Had to go to one of the worst neighborhoods and southside of Chicago to get my car. Sounded horrible was dirty beyond believe and had to be junked.

I will never trust these people ever again. The people who rent your car can do whatever they want with it and not return it to you when they don’t pay. They would have to pay to get it but once they have it you’re at their mercy I will never trust these people ever again. Can’t even reset password correctly

Basically I signed up gave me error saying does not match what’s on file (id just signed up how can it be incorrect if I haven’t even set it up yet) no login credentials since I haven’t made any and yet “does not match what’s on file”? Tried using a different email same disappointing frustrating result so I guess now I have two unusable accounts? fantastic. Get txt with (two at this point) welcome to HyreCar to help with COVID-19 we’ll send you a $ digital gift card etc etc click link opens app and back to no login does not match file error and can’t even reset password (check promotions tab in email if using gmail in my experience) and after awhile of trying to reset and getting the same error eventually the reset email stop even showing up to my email at all! HyreCar 👎🏽 DOA.
Update customer service representative contacted me and was able to fix my log in issue bit of a rocky go but the outreach is much appreciated.

Owner was rude

The receptionist for rent a ride was amazing and I would like to make that clear before anything else is said! Very nice and good customer service. That being said the owner of the business was pretty rude and disrespectful even with me being professional and respectful in return. The license plate flew off the car on the drive to my house. When I noticed I immediately called him asking how to fix the situation. He told me to just return the vehicle and with his choice of words made me feel like I was in the wrong and he did not want me to rent from them anymore. This resulted in me having to drive hours back and forth from Orlando to Jacksonville and get an Uber from their dealership in Orlando to another car an hour away in winter park. There was more issues in less than 24 hours of me having this vehicle than the whole 6 months that I had my last rental. That and to add the vehicle I had originally rented wasn’t even ready when I arrived for pickup which resulted in them switching me to this vehicle that I did not want and resulted in these issues. I would suggest looking at other places or individuals to rent from and only use this place as a last resort. They have a lot of options but it’s a big hassle and the owner isn’t exactly customer service oriented. Just my honest review. Again great receptionist just not very great management.

Horrible fleet of wrecked and dirty cars

Myself and family have rented from these people specially Kaira under HyreCar. Upon getting my car i was pulled over due to their tag being expired and the break light being out! The very rude and obnoxious lady that I had to deal with had to email me the tag for me to print out and put in the car doing their job. Their vehicles are old wrecked and dirty. I had to clean all of the dust and debris out of the car before I could even feel comfortable driving. They are rude and talk to you like you are a criminal when they are the crooks. They tried to charge 3 different cards including cash app that I used their system for bogus cleaning fees. BE CAREFUL They are fraudulent crooks you will do better going to Toro or any other place than Hyre car. If you are late on your payment or an emergency happens they try to threaten you as if they have the right to do anything they say they can do. The lady at Kayra said I would have a felony warrant and never be able to buy a house or anything in my life bogus idiots!!! Please please please if you rent from these crooks MAKE SURE you take pictures of all the damage outside of the car and how dirty it is on the inside before you drive off their lot!!! I currently work for a radio news-station and I’m going to dedicate all my power to letting people know about HyreCar!!!

Brakes went up on the car

I paid close to $400 to rent a car through HyreCarDriver for 7 days only for the transmission light to come on and it slip the whole time I’m driving. That vehicle was unsafe and should not have been able to be rented. I returned that because I purchased a car but I had to get a part put on so I got another rental believing that this time it would be better solely based on the pictures provided on HyreCarDriver . I got the truck and after 24 hours the air conditioning stopped working and the next day the brakes went up on me in the middle of doing 2 deliveries. I had to food so I had to complete them and then take the truck to the shop. I got there at 2pm and didn’t leave until 9pm and I was tired by that time and went to sleep. When I explained this I was informed that I would be given an extra day and a credit refunded to my account. To give someone an extra day is extending the rental to another day, not stating that the refund for that day was an extra day. The amount refunded was no where near the amount I missed out on from 2pm-9pm causing me to have to drive overtime. The transmission light came on in this one too and the inside side panel is completely exposed. I transport my family so to have rented a car and had to experience ANY SAFETY PROBLEM that I didn’t create is a PROBLEM!

I Don’t Get It

I don’t get it. After the fees for insurance, etc. are added in the cost of car ends up being twice the cost of the initially published price. This doubling easily costs much more than the same type of car rented from a traditional professional rental company. Perhaps the rates people are charging in my area (LA) are too high, which adds to the problem, but there are many other issues with the pricing model as well. If your primary car insurance or credit card cover rentals, it won’t matter because you must purchase buy Hyre’s $13/day policy. If you only need a car for the day Hyre still requires a minimum 2-day rental (at least in my area). Most traditional rental cars have unlimited miles, while many of the Hyre cars do not. Add in the quirkiness and risk potential of dealing with unknown private individuals instead of professional company - random cancellations, ability to charge unfair penalty fees, etc. it just doesn’t add up to being even a close decision.

I appreciate the concept, but I think in the end this car share model just has too many parties trying to make a profit off the same transaction to make it an actual feasible alternative to traditional car rental.

It seems to work for some people, but I have no idea how.

‼️DO NOT USE THIS APP‼️

Firstly, I’ve rented 2 cars through HyreCarDriver.
The first rental was through a car dealership, which I thought was the best option but the “low tire pressure” light was on from DAY ONE! The transmission or engine kept jurking the car! Plus the raido went out and it was a 2017! I tried to contact both the dealer and Hyrecar to reslove the issue but NO LUCK and i was basically stuck with a car i could not use & no refund was issued.(I called my bank)

The second rental was from an actual person. It was COMPLETELY filthy and the back brake light was on. I again contacted the owner and Hyrecar to document what was going on. It took a week later for the owner to contact but she had no solution. I asked her if she was going to fix it or if she wanted me to fix it and reimburse me with a discount of the rental equaling the amount i paid. She said YES, i finally get it done and now she’s telling me in order for me to get my money back(the discount) i would have to extend it for a week which WAS NOT my intentions. Hyrecar was no better telling me the owner had to approve of the reduced price even with SCREENSHOTS showing her number and her agreeing to the terms. Its been a PAIN IN HELL. Their customer service is HORRIBLE and im so glad I have my car back working! DO NOT USE HyreCarDriver!!!!

Worst nightmare

Don’t post your car , listen people with experience and make your decision . Go read forum and others comments . It is a reason why I said that. If you car get in a wreck as mine two car did , hyrecar will take 2 week to submit claim to York insurance , after one week York will pay you 50% of whatever they think is the value of your car , 30% will be pay by hyrecar and 20% or 2500$ is the pay from the renter .

Hyrecar contract said this 2500$ is the deductible , but it is bs , they put this amount as part of the value of your vehicle , and good luck try to find the driver or renter after a wreck . They disappear . The only way is if renter have a good credit score , but 90% of renter are just second class citizen can’t find a job . They won’t honor their responsabilidad of the wreck , they will blame the police investigator , the street , the traffic light , the sky or the moon if they can , but they will never accept they are guilty of overnspeed etc .

Hyrecar will let you alone and good luck after that . I’m trapped in this business but if you want buy my vehicles please let me know . But after I pay off my car loans I will sell them and start other business and stay away from hyrecar . You should do that too . Good luck if you don’t listen

THE ABSOLUTE WORST 🤬

We rented a car that the battery had died only 3 days into the renting process. Called customer support to only be told there’s nothing they can do and it’s up to the owner to help us out. Which he didn’t, and if anything made us go out of our way (and ended up costing us extra money) to fix his problem car, especially after being told my the owners and the support professional that if we didn’t comply, it would ruin my driver profile on HyreCarDriver , EVN IF THE CAR OWNER RENTED ME A CAR WITH A BATTERY SO DEAD IT COULD NOT EVEN GET A JUMPSTART. Luckily a security guard had found us stranded downtown (3 blocks from Skid Row) and tried to give us a jump. The battery was so gone, that as soon as the guy removed the spark cables, the car died immediately afterwards. I just find it crazy that my prior was going to penalized for that kind of customer experience. How do you hold the drivers accountable but not the people providing the cars? Then secondly I try to rent another car and turns out the registration was expired! As a company who represents both sides of the coin, you need to hold accountability across the board. If I got a car that wasn’t checked on and got into a serious accident, who’s looking at a lawsuit? Food for thought.

Has potential, off to a ROUGH start.

I really want to start by saying:
FIX YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE! PLEASE!!!
It’s absolutely horrible, I had to return my rental immediately because it stalled on me and caused someone to hit me exiting the freeway, and when I reached out about this the agent was painfully inconsistent in communication and even dropped off in the middle of the conversation after only sending two messages. About a week later another agent notices that the ticket hasn’t been closed and apologizes for the delay, but it’s been over 2 weeks since I responded to her with no reply. I’m waiting on a pretty big refund and it’s been almost a month, I had to reach out to my bank and handle it from their end instead.
The person I rented from was kind but didn’t have up to date documents and the license plate numbers on the paperwork didn’t match the car. He did actually go out and handle those things when I pointed them out but still, you all need a better way of tracking UP TO DATE DOCUMENTS so we can get on the road right away AND fix your customer service before making any other new updates because it’s bad enough to make someone stop using your service.

Worst customer service ever

Called customer service about 20 times. Was transferred from one department to the next over and over and over. I was hung up on numerous times. I was told multiple times that there were no supervisors available. The car I rented broke down and wouldn’t start so I assumed they’d refund me for the days I missed although I was completely mistaken. They said they would refund then never did. They said that hyre car isn’t responsible for refunds and I need to contact the owner of the car. They truly have some of the worst, most condescending, rude, lazy employees and I wouldn’t touch this sad excuse for a company with a ten foot poll. Please stay away!!!!!! They will take your money, yes you through any problems never proving answers and ultimately leave you with no money, no refund and no car. If you talk to David in the claims department in Cali he will be sure to make your experience the worst it could possibly be and then hang up on you. Using this company to rent was truly one of the worst decisions I could have made. Use literally any other rental company!!!! This is not something you want to involve yourself in. Literally any company would be better than hyre car!!!!! Please take this warning seriously!

This car has no a/c upon arriving at the bussiness there were 2 gentleman outside then they had to call the lady to come that was going to rent me the car never once they said the car had no a/c after checking and getting the keys the sounds like a/c is blowing I drove a 1/2 block and turned around to there shop upon arriving the owner of the vechile was scamming to lock the gate of the bussiness the 2 men were gone out of site keep in mind all this took place just to go around 1 block so I asked her about no a/c she was nice enough to refund the money but it take 10 bussiness days to add back to your acct but I feel like truest I I had drove 2 blocks they would have been gone and I would have been stuck with a car with no a/c and later that evening when I was calling it a day I looked in my wallet and noticed my driver licance were not in there the only place I took out my driver licsbce were to give to here she for got to give them back to me I messaged her to tell her and she claims to have given back to me if she dud I would have but them back in my wallet I will just have to keep montering my creed it report but if anything goes fish with it I am looking for them

Lower daily price in SF Bay Area!

The price to rent per day in the SF Bay Area is not profitable for a rideshare driver. Spending $400+ to rent for a week, plus gas prices (hybrid or not), makes it hard to break even if you work part time, or takes around 50% of your earnings full-time. The prices on HyreCarDriver down in LA are more affordable even for luxury vehicles. I think if the pricing for SF was similar to LA where a weekly rental costs closer to $300 or less it would be a much more lucrative option for renters which would overall increase business for HyreCar and their car owners. I’m debating going back to renting through the rideshare companies partners just so I can actually make some money that I get to keep...

Do Not Rent

Honestly the worst experience ever with renting a car. There is literally no customer services ever available through phone or chat. You have to wait long periods of time for responses and chances are the chat will end automatically. My first ride was a nightmare. Now the owner is saying I scratched his car. Newsflash I recorded both before and after vids to protect myself from something like this. Then sure enough the owner is trying to scam me out of more money. I rented the car for 1 mouth paid over 2k. The money hungry owner is lying and saying I scratched his car. I rewatch the vids and can confirm no new scratches. I have a feeling that I’m still going to be charged because the customers service is so poor that that instead of actually investigating they might just take his word for it. Customer service told me I had a claim and I should have received an email. I would have been completely blindsided and clueless had I not ask what’s going on with my account. To make matters worse not only was there no email. I had to email them proof of the videos and still no response. Unacceptable! Total waist and feels like a scam.

Do not post your car here. Hosted 6x. 4x has serious problems here. 66% chance of having serious problems from renter. One time got my car totaled and need to call police to return my car back. Owner still driving the car until called the sos system inside car. Spending 45 days and still waiting for collision claim. My insurance company totaled the car and HyreCar still not responding. 1x got 10 parking tickets got me to spend a day to fix it. 2x not returning on time and spend days to recover the car with renter and HyreCar. All have record. HyreCar does not helpful at all. They said both party need to handle with fair claim. If they will provide more assistance for owner to file claim, there will be way less trouble. Owners. Think of Uber driver can rent car way cheaper at FAIR. Why they have to rent here? They are all trouble drivers. Not responsible. They will mess up your car. Does not care about maintenance or had DUI or serious problems before. That is why they cannot own a car and cannot get a car through FAIR for $185/mo. I got 66% chance of bad rental experience. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM

This is a very bogus company I read it from down for about two weeks, I had already had second thoughts about renting from them when I met with the renter and the car was falling apart, he was trying to fix the problem by tiring the piece that was having from the car with zip ties, and he claimed that a previous renter had done it! My thing is if the previous renter had done something to the car and it was driver able, why Re rent the car! So I just rent ahead and rented and the brakes was totally bad and the owner knew about and he said it’s ok. So the siding on the car started to fall off 2 days later I called the owner and he said that was never like that but you can clearly see where tape was holding it up. Make a long story short when I returned the vehicle the owner had filed a claim stated I made several damages. Which is a total lie and I will never respect a company that goes against the customer. I called them way before all this played out. I am banned from renting I wouldn’t suggest anyone to rent from them.

System is flawed

I’ve rented with this company a couple times now and I’ve got to say it is ridiculous to have this company open. I rented a vehicle to take my family out of town and when I requested the car it went through within 15 mins which is great, however when I got to the car they told me I can’t take it because it needed a state inspection and I’ll get a moving violation. I called the owner to ask him why would he accept the rental request if that was the case and he told me it was the company. After that I decided to give them another chance about 2 months later, and the same problem the same way with a different vehicle owner. It gets better, “AS LONG AS THE OWNER DOES NOT HAVE ANOTHER VEHICLE YOU CANT GET ANOTHER VEHICLE.” Not to mention the select amount of places that somehow don’t even care about the vehicles they put out to rent. This company seems like they just want the money and doesn’t care for their customers/renters as they should unless you’re calling customer service to get your money back!!

Horrible customer service***** avoid!

The absolute worst customer service ever!!!!! They bug you almost daily to see if you’re ready/want to rent, to the point I blew up on them. Do they want me to contact them daily practically asking if they want to buy or sell a home? I think not. Not to mention super pricy, a $25/day car comes out to $45 a day with tax and insurance. Maven is cheaper, and FAIR is the best company you can rent from doing ride share, all you need is to link it through an Uber account. No minimum rides, drive for any company or however you like, and 70 rides a week w/ Uber you get a $185 bonus, or 120 trips for an extra $305, also if you rent a hyre car they will pay for your Uber ride to their location FYI! In my experience with Hyre not even with the customer service, some of their clients rent you BAD cars, and trust me when you’re trying to drive a 12 hr shift and you’re on your second passenger because the car is having mechanical issues, that is a problem. Just be careful there are better more affordable places!

Good Concept, Terrible Customer Service

I love using the HyreCar app because it’s very easy, self-explanatory, doesn’t require a lot of reading, you can use filters to get the desired cast you want if it’s available too. They also have a great variety of cars. One thing I hate about HyreCarDriver is, if I have a quick question that I need an answer to, the agents are never available.i have about 3 open tickets (questions/claims) on HyreCar right now because no one ever responds and if they do, it’s like 5 years later. I once rented a car for a week through HyreCar and returned it on time, the owner didn’t complete the rental when I returned it so they don’t want to pay me my $25 rebate for weekly rental. I decided to rent a car for the Halloween weekend and my rental was supposed to start today however the insurance is stalling the entire process and when I asked them about it, of course I get no response.

Hassled Me For Nothing

Let me start by saying it’s way better places around than this. I started to sign up for HyreCar despite the bad reviews I’ve seen. They wouldn’t stop calling me, sending me emails and even texts to get me to finish my account and start renting. I did end up telling them to leave me alone. But reluctantly I went to sign up only to be denied for no reason. They don’t tell you why and when you ask why or how, they tell you to not ask them for an explanation. I met the criteria that was listed on the website so it was no reason to deny me. They didn’t respond to my last email asking what was going on or maybe they denied me cause i yelled at them. They’re disorganized and unprofessional. They harass you to sign up and then want nothing to do with you when they can’t get money off of you. Go elsewhere please don’t go here.

Good Idea Bad Implication

It’s a great idea to be able to rent other people’s cars for Uber and Lyft but waiting on so long to get approved for background check and insurance that says could take up to 24 hours when I already paid to have the car for two whole days and they waste one of those days on waiting on insurance. Hyrecar needs to step up their game and hire more people and better software and website developers because the website and app has so many bugs and glitches. The whole process is unorganized and I believe they can do better and I can understand being a new startup idea but if they want it to last they need to make some changes fast.

Run!!!

Whatever you do don’t rent from this comapny please don’t!!! They delete all the bad messages on Facebook because they scam people and they don’t have real customer service at all. I just spoke to someone after 2 weeks of trying to speak to billing to fix an issue. Please do yourself a favor and run!!! Take 10 minutes and read the review and look up their Yelp, BBB, and google reviews. They are all horrible with people all have the same horrible experience. It’s sad because if they stopped scamming and cared about customers they could be a good company but they seriously could care less about customer service.

I paid to rent a car and was waiting for them to process the insurance. I had to contact them to find out what was taking so long. They informed me that the car owner had some out of date documents, so if his documents was out of date why was he even allowed to list his car. They put my money on hold, 360 dollars plus 200 dollar deposit. They have 560 dollars on hold and didn’t provide any service. So I have to wait 2 or 3 days that I really didn’t have just pursue other options. Had to take out a payday loan. You shouldn’t hold peoples money if you can’t guarantee the service. Very inconvenient

The setting up process was easy.... But who blows someone up with tons of emails and text messages to force them to rent a car. I had to literally block them. And majority of the cars in here are not up update or legit... some are very older models... in that case I can just drive my own car. They mileage you can start off with before paying per mile is very low. The highest I’ve seen was only able to have 200 miles a day. And there are not a huge selection of cars to choose from. Would not recommend.

Have been an owner on hyrecar for 8 months now. Currently have 4 cars on HyreCarDriver . Two of them have had claims opened for damages and parking violations. Let me tell you, the claims department is unreachable, the billing department is extremely slow, the poor people at customer service take all the heat and try to do the best they can. Hyrecar needs to poor their focus on getting these owners taken care of in a timely manner. Had my car sitting for a month with no follow up from hyrecar. Not good at all.

Been a driver for some years now...

Not sure what’s worse - the customer service or HyreCarDriver . I’ve rented great vehicles and really bad ones. Overall, it’s not a completely unbearable experience. Once you sort through the vehicles, there are some good people with quality cars that drive great. Pay close attention before you drive off and you’ll be fine. They’re a young company, they just need time to perfect everything.

Great app Amazing convenience

They give people the opportunity to make money off their cars which is a win! Then they do the work and allow the person renting the car to be able to make with the car! This is amazing I love it! I ran into a couple weird car owners but HyreCarDriver itself is amazing

HyreCar is scam, you will know once when you are in trouble I normally dont write reviews but this experience forced me to do so because i dont want others to sufer like i did. There are some positive review which i am surprised to see. The real color of the company can be seen only when you get into trouble. If you are a car owner just forget about your car because you are not going to get a single dollar if there are issues with you car. Here is my experience for which i have not got any money from Hyrecar for so many damages because they have all the paper work to screw you up and not pay you. And they will keep referring to the same until you give up. I rented for 2 weeks of i earned $399 in which the car drove about 4000 miles. 1. My renter damaged the bumper of my car ($500 deductible for me and insurance paid $450) 2. Crossed several tolls for which he never paid ($45) 3. Returned the vehicle 2 days late (No payment) 4. Broke the rare wiper (Not covered despite having premium insurance) 5.Have check engine lights (Not covered despite having premium insurance) 6. Small dents and scratches ((Not covered despite having premium insurance)) If you have a premium insurance you still have to pay $500 for any damage that the drive will cause on your car which is insane. Most of the time my rent is not $500 even if they use for 2 weeks. My driver credit history was bad but still HyreCar never checked it and he is not making any payment due to which i am not get any payment. I will never list my car here. They are big scam and only here to make money out of your loss. Remember there are even bigger problems with company policies especially when your car is in accident or is broken 1000 miles away from you. Only god can save regardless of what insurance you have from HyreCar.
