The support is very incompetent

The support of this company is terrible. The case investigation department does not care to help the drivers. My account has been closed since June 8 due to a return from Walmart and according to they closed my account temporarily that they are investigating when I personally went. To speak with the manager of walmart and she told me that she did not understand why they had closed my account if they had received the complete order and that walmart had not made any report. I have called support about 10 times I have sent them many emails and they always come out with the same thing that they are investigating so easy that is to call walmart or send an email and confirm if the order is returned complete but the truth is they do not know how to perform their work when In other platforms, a maximum case has been investigated for 2 weeks, these have been 4 months from June 8 until today, the truth is not useful at all, I do not know what they are doing and nothing else centered in front of the computer that is why I gave them a one star rating

Gig Matching? This is not Tinder!

This is by far one of the most discriminatory apps in the gig industry. I have a truck, a push cart and a dolly. I am fully capable. I wake up at 5am and submit offers for high paying gigs and never get selected for them. Reason: another qualified offer is selected? What does that even mean? Expect no answers from Roadie they will just blame the algorithm. Well the algorithm, which takes 15 minutes to make its decision by the way, is either discriminating or something that makes this entire app unfair for reasonable and capable people. There could be 2 gig offers at the same store going to the same city but you will only get accepted for one? And what happens to the 15 minutes one is waiting for an answer, ignoring other apps only to be informed that you were only selected for the lowest paying one? Seriously I’m contacting an attorney and I do not recommend RoadieDriver to anyone. It’s complete frustration and you won’t make any money unless you’re qualified. What does it take to be qualified? Well who knows. Apparently there is a sophisticated algorithm that makes you wait 15 minutes only to let you know you’re not qualified. This is not tinder it’s work!! How do you match someone with work? Sure if it’s highly specialized but driving things to people? If it’s there and I’m there then let me have it or don’t offer it to me. I’m seriously going to have this investigated.

Pay structure

I wish the pay structure was less confusing. You have to scroll for days to see each transaction for the regular pay and tips which are labeled individually. Also, in our area for Walmart grocery delivery Roadie has lowered our base pay on all gigs by $3.00. They are guaranteeing at least a$3.00 tip on every gig even if we don’t get a tip from the customer. The only problem with this for the drivers is now the tips are starting to get pretty good and I get tipped on most gigs. I really don’t need a guarantee that I will get a tip. So if a customer tipped me more than three dollars Roadie takes three dollars of the tip and adds it to my base pay which brings my pay back up to what I was making before and then gives me the rest of the tip which they call an additional tip. So basically Roadie is using three dollars of my tip money to bring my base pay back up to what it used to be and then they give me the rest of a tip. So basically Roadie has lowered my pay. During these hard times and so many people have lost jobs and are turning to gigs to make ends meet this makes it really tough. I am appreciative of Roadie that I have this opportunity to make extra money but I’m just disappointed that they have decided to do this especially during these times.

Great when it works but has some flaws

Let me start by saying I love RoadieDriver and the delivery process but there are a few problems that need to be addressed.
1. The offer process takes too long and fails to process multiple pickups. There have been several occasions when 2 or more offers are available for pickup at the same location and which the dropoffs are headed in the same direction but I will only be accepted for one and never get a response on the others.
2. There is no customer service. The text option is only available if you’re in the middle of a delivery. The phone option has left me on hold for 35+ minutes on several occasions which has delayed my deliveries. Emails are not answered at all.
3. Toll reimbursement is an issue. In my state, we have cashless tolls which does not provide a paper receipt. We have an electronic database that will load a record of the toll but it takes up to 24 hours. I have tried numerous times to send in that “receipt” by email. I was able to reach one person that acknowledged they received it but several unanswered emails afterwards and after 2 weeks, have still not received a reimbursement or an answer from customer service.

Update Bug

There is definitely a bug with the latest update. Anytime RoadieDriver is opened it defaults to the map zoomed out to showing the whole USA and not your current location. It even happens when tapping on the notification, shows whole map and not the trip itself. It’s not a technical issue on my end. Cache has been cleared, precise location is on, uninstalled and reinstalled RoadieDriver , restarted my phone and it’s still the same. It is an issue with something the developers did in the latest update. Tried emailing support just to make them aware and to pass it on to the proper channels and they closed the case saying I didn’t respond. They wanted my number associated with my accnt, I replied immediately with what they were wanting. I guess the agent didn’t read their emails. Tried calling support and “no one is available”. Other than that bug with the map, I enjoy using Roadie. I gave 4 stars because you could be in the parking lot of a pickup location, submit the offer for the job and after 15-20 mins be denied saying it was given to some else. Even though you’re already there and have done several deliveries.

Good cash when they actually have jobs. Don’t depend on this app for consistent cash flow.

I downloaded this to make some extra cash on the side. I have a pretty good job so don’t necessarily need the money. Seems at first there were a decent amount of gigs in my area. The first week I took gigs and got paid $110ish for the week of work all of a sudden there were absolutely no gigs in any of the areas I went to. I travel between 2 states and pretty good size metropolitan areas so I know there are normally gigs available. I’d be lucky if there was 1 but like 20 miles away and not really worth the $10-$15 to go there. I saw other reviews of people having the same issue. Not sure if they do that on purpose. But it’s an odd coincidence it happens to more than a couple people. Just don’t expect this to pay all your bills.

On the Roadie Again!!!

Dearest Roadie Supporters and Personal assistance specialists!!! I am loving being a Roadie Driver!!! The gigs are very pleasant and my destinations are “usually” easily located!!! I would ask that perhaps the timers to arrive to pick up or complete delivery would be a bit more extended in order to allow for the traffic. In my case I have had deliveries way out in the country that my road conditions are sometimes very unusual and it is not highway driving, so it can be a bit challenging to complete deliveries on the short time allowed by the timer on our directional App!! The Support Team is very accessible as a rule, although I do understand that keeping us “busy as bees”must be the team’s greatest challenge, and delays are sometimes just a part of the business of shepherding so many contractors!!! I would love to help facilitate marketing ROADIE in our community of East Texas to expand our opportunities. If that is something I could do to be of assistance to this marvelous endeavor please let me know! Thank y’all very much for allowing me these wonderful opportunities!!! May God continue to bless and keep you and yours!!!

Unprofessional

This company does not care about their drivers or their safety. All they care about is that you pick up the item and drop it off at the address provided. Drivers beware - your account can get locked at any moment. It could be an error on Roadie‘s part or it can be an error on the stores part. In any case, roady automatically locks the account and will have it locked for up to a week if not longer. If you do not respond to the email complaint and inform them of the situation regarding your locked account, the account can be locked for a longer period of time. You know the saying the customer is always right? While driving for roadie keep in mind… The driver is never right! This company does not care about their drivers. As for prescriptions … most prescriptions are delivered through Roadie however one company has their own driving app. It never fails, Rodie usually starts a prescription out at about 6.75$ and Rodies price increases over time. One of the prescription companies that has their independent driving app will start out a prescription usually at $25 - This means Rodie takes/pockets the rest of the money. Very unreliable company they do not care about drivers.

New App Is Disappointing

I love driving for Roadie but I’m pretty underwhelmed by the new app. In addition to the recent reductions in payouts, RoadieDriver has become very cumbersome. 1) Once you are “approved” for a delivery, you can no longer see how many items are in the order. This makes it very difficult to know if you’ve gotten the whole order at pickup. You can only see the number of items BEFORE you are approved now. 2) The pickup photo and delivery photo screens are almost indiscernible. It’s very easy to mix them up. 3) RoadieDriver never seems to be able to detect your location accurately. Before taking the pickup photo...”Are you sure? You don’t seem to be at the pickup location.” Before taking the delivery photo...”Are you sure? You don’t seem to be...” YES, I’m sure! 4) This last issue is the worst. Previously, if you got pinged for a second order/delivery while you were at the same store, you could accept it, view both orders, pick them both up at the same time, then go deliver them. Now, you must pick up the first order, go deliver it, THEN COME BACK TO THE SAME STORE to pick up the second order, then go deliver that! This is extremely inefficient. If the Roadie team can tweak these four areas, it will go back to being a 5-star app.

Terrible

Roadie seems like a great idea until you actually try to do an order. Every order I’ve done has had an issue. Specifically why I deleted RoadieDriver was I was sent to pick up 4 bags from the airport just to be told it was an error so I spent over an hour attempting to do a gig I was paid a total of $16 for and was never reimbursed my parking ($8) even after calling support and sending them a picture of my receipt, meaning I only made $8 for something I was expecting at least $40 from. Another delivery I was asked if I could keep the gig active on my phone for 24 hours because the business placed the order a day early. They expected me to not accept any other gigs and wait 24 hours to deliver a cake because of the businesses mistake. I was eventually paid $4 for the gig and they finally cancelled it after going back and forth with (John) the representative. I understand every business isn’t perfect but roadie has an issue at every corner you turn and I would recommend doing anything but this. It’s never worth it and I always felt taken advantage of after completing a delivery for them. I’ve deleted RoadieDriver and won’t be using it again and I hope I save the next person the frustration.

Not for making money

This is a app you use if YOU the driver want to help pay for UPS packages and third party businesses so they can deliver to their customers at little to no cost. While the entire cost goes to the driver. so they can make more profit and and reduce jobs. I have been observing roadie for over 5 years. They have become fraud just like most other more pretending, overpromising and under delivering companies. If you are a driver and dont like the pay. Dont accept the order. Stop dehumanizing yourself. This is not a boycott. We need to have respect for ourselves. They are paying less and less for heavier, larger and more distance gigs. As inflation skyrockets. They are basically telling their drivers to get down and take this. I hope this seriously saves a driver from wasting your time. This isnt work spending any kind of hours on. There are plentiful more ways to earn money. Not paying out your pocket for other peoples deliveries. Btw if we didn’t notice the market jobless is at all time high as companies have been preparing robotics to learn human works and to “fill in the job market gap”

Overall Review

Roadie have been updating RoadieDriver so commonly in the recent weeks and here are the pros and cons.

I have been hustling with Roadie for quite a while and I love it.

Pros:
- Simple instructions
- Pays good for a hustler
-Convenient
- Multiple gigs at same time from same shop/pickup-place
- Both email and phone support are available

Cons
- With the recent update it’s hard/impossible to get multiple gigs from the same store if you get accepted to only one and you can’t see any other gigs until you’re done with the one you have. it’s not convenient to drive 30 miles back and forth for $15 (one gig) but if you can get more gigs then it’s worth it.
- Cancellation fee is so low (I question offering a gig a lot because you would have to wait even for an hour now or you would only get $4 for cancellation fee) sometimes you might drive for 10-20 miles to get a $20-$45 gig but if the waiting time is a lot or the item isn’t available you only get $3-6 cancellation fee.
- Customer support is improving but it needs to get better. Waiting time shouldn’t be more then 3-5 mins. It used to be an hour but now u can expect 25-30 mins but that’s still an issue because you don’t have someone to guide you if you face an issue in store, with drop out or with cancellation.

Hopefully Roadie consider my review and respond to it.

Thanks

Where do begin?!

Roadie has a bunch of issues but I'll stick to the ones that affect the money. Gigs are posted randomly in random locations. In order to accept a gig you have to scan your ID. The ID SCAN never works!!!! Then you have to contact support to have them manually go through find the delivery and assign it to you. You only have a very short period of time to accept the delivery or you get points deducted. That's an issue when you have to wait in a Que for support to help. The way the drivers are choosen comes off discriminatory. I've had orders that I have choosen to deliver removed from my screen and told that I didn't qualify to deliver this order just to have the order reposted seconds later. I asked why that was happening and I was given the run around, no clear answer. The amount of pay to milage is horrible. Example would be $7.00 for 22 plus miles. A lot of Home Depot pickups for cheap. If your looking for a little bit of pocket change I can't honestly say Roadie will provide that. I definitely would say work at your own risk here.

If you hustle, you will succeed

I read through a bevy of reviews of Roadie here and I’m not sure why people are complaining about certain aspects of Roadie. I find RoadieDriver to be transparent in showing up front gig pricing, and intuitive on sourcing multiple gigs that happen to be headed in close proximity to each other.

As far as people with payment concerns, anyone claiming Roadie isn’t paying out is just not telling the truth. I received direct deposit from RoadieDriver just as it’s described, initiated on Tuesday, and posted to my account early Thursday morning. Any claims of non payment are unsubstantiated.

If you live in an area where there are gigs, you really shouldn’t have a problem putting some money in your pocket, I’m loving driving for Roadie, freedom and flexibility are really important.

Pretty Rough. I guess they gave up on widgets.

Still no iOS widgets, but they didn’t mention it in the latest release notes...
I wish that were the only issue with Roadie...

Deeply depressing that the developer response to my initial review stating that the Roadie support is useless is to say “remember we have 24/7 support”

I don’t know if it’s Roadie’s servers and back end, or mostly RoadieDriver , but there’s always something broken (or slow at best) going on with this system. Obviously the store employees are not trained to deal with or understand anything with Roadie, and the pickup directions are wrong (or opposite) at almost every single pickup.

Payments are getting smaller and smaller per run and you WILL NOT be informed of the vast majority of available gigs in your area (assuming the notifications are even working on a given day). Roadie will say that depends on their top secret algorithm, but either way it is not giving drivers the best opportunity to find worthwhile assignments.

Roadie text and phone support appears to be outsourced, and also understaffed and undertrained. Support is almost useless, and often takes so long to respond that your gig is already ruined. When they do respond —sometimes hours later— it’s usually just repeating what is in the FAQs within RoadieDriver and not relevant to your issue.

I want to love this, but their priority is certainly not looking out for the drivers.

Better but needs improvement

RoadieDriver will let you pick multiple gigs at once without switching from one to another and being able to capture all pictures at once. However, the old app has this option that you can see what items are for the specific gigs picture but this one does not let you see the picture. This is helpful once you get to the location you can see the picture and drop all the correct items. Instead now I have to verify with the pick up list that I’m dropping off all the items.
Second. When taking proof of delivery RoadieDriver does not recognize that you are in the location and you get the message that all other users seem to be struggling with.

Roadie has become extremely greedy and not worth your time.

I have done more than 1,100 Roadie deliveries over the past three years. End of last year they cut the pay rates roughly 40%. Last week when the country started locking down cities they cut the rates another 35%, you know, to help drivers make less money at the exact time they need their income more than ever. Way to share the pain the country is dealing with during the carona virus! They also decided to change their terms of service to say that mileage reimbursement were already included in California deliveries because they are worried about being sued after AB5 law was passed regarding illegally designating workers as independent contractors. So imagine average 45 minute deliveries that used to pay a measly $17 now pay $8 and that amazingly includes mileage reimbursement which they have never ever paid in the past. What a greedy company improving their exploitation of the working poor. I encourage everyone to boycott this greedy company.

The best delivery app!

How can I even express the gratitude and blessing ROADIE has been. I’ve worked delivery before and in comparison RoadieDriver beats them by far. The compensation is decent not to mention they do instant payouts after 5 deliveries and 7 days on their platform. They are extremely flexible. Although their algorithms do, for the most part, give their large batch orders to more experienced drivers i am satisfied knowing I’ll get chosen sooner or later.
Scared to take a delivery heading across town and not have return delivery available can be worrisome because the last thing we want is to take that empty trip back Well I haven’t had a that happen to me they always find something in the area to send me home with. Thank you ROADIE!!!

Can’t use GPS before accepting gig anymore

I do not like how you can’t use your GPS before accepting a gig to see exactly how far a starting and ending point is from your current location. The old Roadie app lets you do this! Please bring this back! This isn’t fair! That’s not something that should have ever been removed. This made me feel secure knowing that roadie was on our side for the drivers to not be hustled like other driver apps... when it comes to mileage and time, etc. I understand that it shows the location of the gig on the map... and the total mileage for the gig itself... but it helps MASSIVELY to know how far a gig is from my current location! Bring this back please!

Also... bring back our progress for badges! This made driving more fun and motivated me to keep driving in order to earn badges! I can’t find my badge progression anywhere in the new app! This was fun! Bring it back!

Great money maker.

I live Roadie. It’s a quick easy way to make change at on your schedule. There are occasional glitches, like you have to take a photo at drop off. If you don’t take a photo they will threaten to not pay you. They tell you that you can use your camera app on your phone and send that pic to them on RoadieDriver however 2 times today they are refusing those types of pics. It’s always something like that. Usually they are super cool about working to figure it out once the actual problem is identified it just takes tome. But for doing your own thing at your leisure it’s fantastic. It’s worth the glitches.

This is great

I started doing App about 3 months ago and I loved it The reason why I love it is because it is convenient for me because I work another full time job and I can except delivery’s when I can do theme

By

It’s ok

Personally I found the old versions easier to use. I guess because that the 1st one I started with. This new one took me about ya e a day to get use to. Now it’s getting easier to use and les room for errors.

By

My favorite ride share app!

I love Roadie and this new app is a huge upgrade — better routing, more details about deliveries and I can create my own return gig if I need to. The whole process is smoother and faster!

By

Flexible Work.

Was doing Uber and Lyft, but took up too much of my time. Roadie is more convenient for me and more flexible. I know where each gig is going before I bid on it; not taking gigs blindly. Would be 5 stars but disappointed that Roadie cut the rate for Walmart gigs.

By

Angelic Side Hustle

I’m so grateful for the Roadie App. It affords me the opportunity to make money on my schedule. All the money I make with Roadie is used to prepare and serve the meal at homeless shelters in Atlanta. I love RoadieDriver.

By

Beta version

My only concern is not being able to maneuver through gigs when working multiples.

By

Sexy app!!

Ohhhhhh yeah!!! Wayyy better than what I was experiencing before. App looks great and instantly saw my archived gigs in order!

By

Awesome app!

Great app for allowing a bit of extra finances. Easy to use and great support.

By

A great app for drivers who are bad at math.

These gigs are TERRIBLE deals. 20 cents or so a mile? $12-$15 an hour once you factor in an empty return trip?

Terrible. Unless you happen to be going that way you can’t make decent money doing this.

By

This wat we do

It's really easy to use great Walmart pickups and fast

By

Not Enough Work

I use two other gig apps, and this one always placed third. I keep using it because it’s better then nothing at all, but my other apps are my go-tos.

By

Awesome Gig company!

The day they do their payouts like Uber (same day) is the day this company becomes a UNICORN!

By

Great app

I really enjoy delivering for roadie! Its a great app

Love at first gig

Nothing compares, nothing competes...#roadieisbae

Beta Version Is A Downgrade

For now anyway, the beta version is a huge downgrade with numerous bugs/limitations.

Examples:
1) No list view where I can see multiple gigs at the same time.
2) Taking photos of parking receipts is a major undertaking. Twice it has taken me over 10 attempts to get the receipt centered properly to submit for reimbursement.
3) When you have multiple gigs at the same time (or have one you’ve been accepted on and others where your offer is pending), it is more difficult to monitor the multiple gigs.
4). There is no mechanism in RoadieDriver to ask the sender questions. For instance, when their photo and description don’t match or they give two dimensions (LxW) instead of three (LxWxH). Good luck calling Roadie for a quick response (at least as of 12/19).
5). Once you have been accepted for a gig, it is difficult to see details such as the gig number and the amount the gig will pay.

The new app seems like something that was released hastily to meet a calendar and/or fiscal year end deadline. There is LOTS more to do just to make it as good as the old app. To make it truly better than the old app seems like a pipe dream at this point. I love delivering for Roadie and love the concept of their business model. They just need to get this product right...
