Horrible Company.

So far my experience with VIA has been very bad. Very limited rides that are very far away. They do have a pay concept that sounds good but they work it to cheat and mislead the drivers so they can move them to ViaBlue and keep an even higher commission for themselves. They offer guaranteed pay and go out of their way to make sure that you don’t receive it. And if you do make the required number they do things to make sure they don’t have to pay you reassigning your rides is a way they can cheat you. Overall, don’t trust this company and sink your valuable able time into them.
Has not received my earnings for more than a month

Very bad experience with VIA. In addition to all the other shortcomings of the application described below, I also can not get my earnings. After my request to the support team, they wrote to me that they would send money as soon as possible. Then they apologized, and said that they need to update the bank information (although it was complete and reliable). After that they wrote to me that everything is in order and that the money will come soon. Now they write to me that I should come to their office and pick up a check (they did not send my check to my post office). More than a month have passed. It turns out that I should now spend my time and money on parking and go to their office to pick up my money. It's very terrible. Disgusting service VIA !!!
Horrible navigation

I’ve been driving with Via for well over a month now. It pays great and all but I wouldn’t recommend driving for them at all. ViaDriver is absolutely terrible when it comes to the navigation. I’ve missed many exits and places I need to go to because of this stupid navigation. I’ve had angry passengers and the commute time going up 10 minutes more because of Vias antiquated navigation system. Why not have the option to use Waze all the time? It often switches to Waze when you’re driving in Brooklyn and when it does that it’s perfect to use. I have stopped driving for Via and went with Lyft because I never run into issues with navigation because they use google maps. Less stress and less hassle. And sometimes this stupid app crashes and freezes. Takes too long to reroute destinations and switches drop off locations last minute. Just drive for another app until they fix their app
Worst app and driver support

Every body is talking about ViaDriver and navigation system but nobody notice their worst payment system. In blue mode they won’t give you more than the hourly rate even if you make more than that. And now the worst part is their flex mode which was good before. Now they add guaranteed fare in every flex trip. Because of that now drivers are making 20% less than before the guaranteed fare. For example, before for a 20miles trip drivers were making $40-$42 after VIA’s 20% fee. Now for the same trip drivers are making $32-$34 after the 20% fee.
Via has a worst app ever. Need more work on ViaDriver . Always make sound in navigation which is annoying. Very bad driver support. Trying to contact with via support team about missing toll for a long time. Still no response. Each time I call they say an agent will be with me shortly but after couple of minutes they hang up.
My first week with via was great I worked and I got all the guaranteed money the promise. I even made the bonus. However after I made the bonus blue mode was always full so I couldn’t hit any guarantees, I did a ride of 4 people the last one went to manhattan beach from the upper east side, then I picked up some one from kings plaza to Long Island city it then send me to the terminal by the hospital on York ave to la guardia and at la guardia I pick up someone who was going to Williamsburg Brooklyn all for $40! It is abusive and disgusting how the promote that drivers get paid more when the have you driving to all corners of ny to pay $40. They also put out the quick pay option to then have it magically disappear and still no response as to why after 5 emails sent to their team, save your self the trouble not even the bonus is worth it they need to take this company out!

It’s just an app sometimes I feel like it didn’t even pass the betaware during development. You Could use paper map better than the GPS provided. Promotions appear in ViaDriver a couple of hours before the kick off. You can never plan ahead specially for afternoon/evening rides.
I use it in DC and since they expanded service coverage to all of DC ViaDriver keeps lagging and sometimes failing to connect to its server causing drivers to miss on possible rides not that people in DC know about via.
Tracking earnings is so difficult and doesn’t even show you the gross amount of the week worked. You will have to wait for the weekly pay statement email. Not a big fan in general.
Just another broken company

I been driving on and off for Via for 2 years, I only driver briefly when Uber is slow. But I must say this Via is straight trash, the other ride-share companies are garbage too but I’m tell you why Via is included.
First off, they don’t pay you for wait time when waiting for your rider. The GPS is broken, and when I say it’s broken it’s really broken. This GPS isn’t specific on the pickup or dropoff so you might end up missing the stop or going in circles only to make yourself and the customer mad. Customer service is slow and complicated to get in touch with if you encounter an issue.
And as for the pay, yes Via cut is lower than the other apps...most of the time. But you will notice the fare is lower when you complete the ride which means less money overall for you (the driver). In addition, when you are doing short local trips they end up taking a bigger cut off the fare. When you contact support about it, of course they don’t do anything about.
I haven’t drove for this company in a few months. It’s just not worth my time anymore. I wouldn’t feel sorry if this company goes out of business and jobs are lost.
Good for riders not so good for drivers..

I feel like vía has turn an independent contractor job to a slaving 9 to 5.. they pay you by the hour.. you can make 3 times the money you make in vía when driving for another franchise like lyft.. Exp: when you go out in peak time 5:00 am to 8:00 am driving for vía you can make $60 to 100 depending on the offers posted.. driving for other companies you can make up to $250 maybe more!.. The hourly payments wouldn’t be so bad if they didn’t have all this rules like; you will only get paid when there is a passenger in the car, you can not choose the city or location you want to work on, etc.. Via could do so much better for the drivers.. I feel like if they want to make this a regular job.. then they should offer more benefits to their drivers, like insurance, retirement plans, etc!!..
Non Stop Ding Notifications
2023-02-01
by Pas#1
The company is good to work for but ViaDriver is horrible. ViaDriver does not stop sending ding alerts. Once you get a ride it sends sound alerts and dings nonstop. Even if there isn’t a passenger added or a turn coming up it will still ding. For a person that likes to listen to music while driving this is a major inconvenience because the alerts pause your music every time it dings which is every 10 seconds. Especially when there’s a ton of traffic. That issue is literally making me want to delete ViaDriver . There isn’t a way to turn off the alerts either. You just have to suffer through it. I hope they fix this issue soon. I don’t recommend downloading ViaDriver .
I appreciate your effort to develop ViaDriver however is has a lot of bottlenecks. When you use the Via app GPS for tunnels and complex highways you cannot get exact exit ahead of time. It is weird by using its GPS to pass Virginia highways and tunnels. When I changed the routes the Via GPS app is not responding the route change immediately. As compared to other apps on the high speed roads, highways and tunnels, I am afraid to use it. I am not confident for your expansion to Virginia to use it as an app GPS. It is better to tuned to other GPS apps alternatively. If I will get offer to go Virginia by Via app GPS, I will cancel the offer before I start to drive. So I strongly advise you to link the Via app with Waze and google map app. Based on the problems I rated one star because it needs a lot of improvements. It is not well developed.
Needs Improvement

The only time I really see money is when they switch me to Blue Rate, and still I have to be driving for hoursss just to see $100, Flex mode never really works for me. You get a ride then it take 30 min to a hour just for another ride to come in Flex mode, if you worked for Lyft and Uber your definitely not seeing the same amount you would make in a hour or two and lastly. Even getting up extra early before 8am or working late nights will not get you consistent rides.

Driving for VIA has been a good experience for me overall as it’s enabled me to make better financial decisions and be really flexible with school and dance (I drive in the Arlington market which works different than the others). My biggest gripe on the ViaBlue side besides the subpar GPS system is how much dang noise ViaDriver makes. Especially since the recent update, it dings randomly when nothing is going on. It dings when it wants me to “in 100 feet turn right” when I’m very much still driving straight for another 3 miles. Honestly, all the stupid noises would be somewhat bearable if it didn’t COMPLETELY shut off any other noises your phone is making while driving. The job is made that much worse when I can’t listen to my own music in the car because every single time I make a turn, come to a location stop, or even when I’m not doing anything at all, the music completely turns off. The simplest improvement would be making these dumb alerts only INTERRUPT music functions, instead of completely HALTING them. It’s also INCREDIBLY data and battery heavy, and I can’t listen to those “helpful” dings if my phone has to stay plugged in but ultimately sounded off by the radio because the dings are insufferable and loud. And I refuse to drive in a dead silent car.
App still needs a lot of development

The pay rates are indeed the best in the industry, but there are many drawbacks that make it an unattractive option. The main reasons being: 1- No instant pay-out option which is standard and very important on every other platform. 2- No option to reset your password or anywhere to click if you forget your login info. That’s just ridiculous. Honestly guys... 3- Forced to use their gps navigation and no option to use other apps. The Via nav is simply horrible especially in a city like DC which is very hard to navigate. 4- Rides can be sparse and long down time. So even though the pay rate is higher, I’ll still make more on Uber or Lyft because of higher volume. This can be solved with stronger marketing..
Could be better.

I’ve had an, overall, pretty average experience with via so far. As far as alerts and promotions go, I’m content. Via is on the money, and I find myself in the best position to make a decent earning on a daily basis. What disappoints me, however, is Via’s sub-par GPS that I’m forced to depend on. Via’s GPS doesn’t provide any information about turning lanes, or any lanes for that matter, and it can make the driving experience quite exhausting. I suggest you improve ViaDriver itself, or provide drivers with an option to use other GPS. ViaDriver doesn’t provide any.
Also, I find it difficult to keep accurate track of my daily earnings on ViaDriver . That’s because it counts any earnings made after 12AM as earnings made on the next day. As a driver who takes a lot of late-night trips, it can get extremely tedious.
App Needs Polish, but is almost there. Will UPDATE if Issues Resolved!

1. Make BG Audio and BT Audio sync better, it seems like notifications have a way of taking precedence, and then it turns off BT music playing for customers. 2. The DRIVER App, could use a lot of front end and backend overhaul — it needs less distracting sounds, and more turn by turn prompts, letting you know which LANE you need to be in within X # of miles. 3. Routes - Routes can at times be weird, and this may be built in for purposes of avoiding traffic, I’m unsure, but yeah… 4. Get ViaDRIVERs the same status as a City of Arlington, a City of FW or otherwise bus attendant, so that if these people try to assault us we have legal recourse. Most are great, some are awful and shouldn’t have been allowed access to ViaDriver from the jump. 5. Listen TO YOUR RIDERS AND YOUR DRIVERS! We are giving you clear feedback, idk what is hard to implement. ? Find your sweet spot, app-dev team, and let’s get VIA Driver working a bit better. 6. Expand Service Area to include up to Bell Station on the TRE line in Arlington area, for access to Bell Helicopter HQ and etc.
P.S. — in the VIA Rider app, make searching for establishments easier. I don’t know what index of info that’s pulling from, but at times it seems like it’s not up to date.
Such a crazy and random app😳

Many times driving downtown Chicago can be the absolute worst. It becomes detrimental when ViaDriver starts to have a crazy episode. It will lose reception during the height of rush hour traffic. The directions with stop and then it will resume. Here's the kicker -- when the directions resumed it played back 3-5 minutes worth. It was embarrassing. I apologized to my passenger--it was ridiculously giving all the previous steps! My hope is that this can be resolved.

I love driving for Via and love the unique concept of the nearest intersection pick up spots and I like for the opportunity for passengers to pay a lower fare/rider rate compared to other rideshare services such as Uber and Lyft.
I just wish drivers made more money. I also wish that Flex mode would get as many ride requests as Blue Mode and/or if Blue Mode hourly rates were higher.
Happy Driver with VIA

In the midst of all the confusion in California about the new law AB-5 and UBER/LYFT not wanting to comply and threatening to suspend operations in California VIA offered a new concept which I love and that is getting paid by the hour and not by each ride and only in certain cities thus eliminating a lot of tear and wear in my vehicle. Yet I get to chose my schedule and that gives me the flexibility I like from the ride share concept.
Higher other hours

Really the biggest problem for sedans is the $20 via blue for “other hours.” It’s just too low. Really it’s minimum-wage when considering expenses. Expenses comes to about $6 per hour. for a while I was getting $23 and it made a difference. Especially in a 40 hour week. If only you can bring it back I’d be able to drive Via Blue all day. Then I’d recommend it more.
Great Via Driver system; but hopefully it will work with a partnership somehow to provide text message to reduce customers’ frustration each time they attempt to call Deaf drivers to meet at proper locations they wish. Uber partners with CSD (Communication Service for the Deaf) to make it happen - text message to ease between Deaf drivers and customers. Thank you so much for reading this.

I rate 2 stars for ViaDriver I have been driving with via for only 4 day there is a lot of things need to be improve in ViaDriver .Driver can’t rate his rider which is not far .Working all the week you can’t know how much you earn tell the end of each week Driver can’t see how is his rate and where he or she is standing .Driver can’t call the support team only texting which is a very big problem in NYC if the cops see you texting and driving .cant know how many hours you work or you still have tell you end your shift I’m sure there is a lot of thing missing in ViaDriver but these are the most thing and helpful for the driver need to be improve ASAP About the earning I can’t say any thing because since four days I start working and tell now I don’t have any idea how much I own or how much money I made I have to wait tell the end of the week to see what surprise I will get after a week of working which is very bad at list driver need to have at list an idea how much money they make every day at list
