Life changing at work

Overall, I’m thrilled to have Agenda!!!!!! Nothing else is like it exists (linking note taking to calendar events) and it’s an indispensable for keeping my work organized. I am more than happy to pay for this application and I love not being forced into subscription pricing!! That said, I hope the iOS version eventually gets to the same level of polish as the Mac version....

The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because text entry on iOS is frustratingly inferior to the Mac version of this app. For example, I am constantly recorrecting style assignments that render incorrectly or seem to change on their own, and simple things like setting my text insertion point at the end of a line (using touch) is crazy hard. I fear these iOS shortcoming are so fundamental that they threaten this app’s long-term survival. If I hadn’t tried the Mac version first and experienced what the developers were capable of, I would have given up on the iOS version by now over text manipulation and rendering problems. Because I mainly live on an iPad, I hope I don’t have to suffer this silliness much longer.

The Solution to My Day Planner Problem

I’ve never been able to use traditional paper planners well. While I’ve always seen how they could, in theory, be useful, I’ve tried many times to incorporate them into how I do things, and they always end up abandoned. Agenda offers some adjustments in just the right areas for me - it has enough structure to help keep me organized, but enough flexibility to rearrange things more easily than trying to constantly rewrite a paper planner.

The ability to toggle things “on” and “off” the main list, as well as the ability to link notes to the Apple calendar app are a huge pluses as well for me in keeping the most important things handy at any given time. I also like that other things can be kept a little more tucked away, but still accessible as needed.

Long story short, I’m a HUGE fan of Agenda, and have used it pretty much daily now for about three years. It’s perfect for my needs.

Lots of promise but keeps crashing in multitasking/side-by-side view

I’ve downloaded and used a ton of note-taking apps, I just heard about this app last night. I love the premise of Agenda - linking notes to calendar events and then being able to quickly see associated notes, a timeline of information and even upcoming this app items that need to be discussed. There’s huge potential with Agenda. I like that it’s free to try and that instead of a subscription option, there’s a one-time fee to upgrade premium features.

After using it in one meeting I was ready to purchase the premium version but then I opened my e-mail in split view on my 2018 iPad Pro 12.9 (3rd gen) and the this app app started crashing. It doesn’t seem to matter what is open next to it, when in split-screen view this app keeps closing. I’ve gotten unexpected crash warnings and I have submitted crash logs to the developer. I work predominantly in a split screen view - it’s the reason I bought the larger iPad. Until this bug is resolved there’s no way I’m purchasing anything. Sadly I may have to go back to a more stable alternative - even though I love the premise of Agenda.

HELP... RECEIVED!!

Revised... upgraded to 5* simply because of their superb customer support. Additionally, after emerging myself in their product description screens and checking out the feature set, this should quickly become my go-to tool for all the massive note taking that I do. Great concepts and I’m hoping to soon report how much it improves the existing tools I use today.

Evernote and Dropbox users pay through subscriptions to get basic vanilla ice cream without the toppings. I personally have been a less-than-satisfied paid user for both Evernote and Dropbox apps for about a decade. Time will tell, but I can imagine using this app with ICloud storage to replace both Wherevernote and Dropbox because of this app’s generalized organizational, time-stamping and tagging capabilities.

And to those looking for organizational ideas like I always am, if you haven’t checked out the online following on their support page, you’re in for a real treat!

Thanks again, Alex, appreciate the help!

Cannot login to post my issue on the blog. It says it cannot verify my login

Paid for app premium features, but app features will not load. Keeps asking me to login. After logging in, asks me to pay for premium features (which I’ve already done), so I click restore purchase. Then it asks me to login. And repeat. And repeat. And repeat.

Great App, but be Careful - UPDATE

UPDATE
This company is very impressive and I’m very satisfied with the measures they’ve taken for my concerns. They added extra measures to ensure you don’t lose the notes you’ve written when you are working across two devices. Very exceptional customer service.

I’m hoping this will help myself and others whenever using this awesome app.

I’ve been really enjoying Agenda for a couple months already. This has an amazing interface and great features. Dark mode looks clean and you’re able to organize your notes differently and much better than what comes with your phone.

Unfortunately, their syncing is terrible. Think about it, you poor your heart and soul into the thoughts and ideas you’re typing. You finish it up and look at a pretty solid idea. Close Agenda , you go about your day then you come back to right before you started to flow. BS. No way to retrieve your previous thoughts. Might as well speak it.

I was super excited to even pay the premium because they’re kind enough to let you own it than subscribe when I first downloaded this, but another round of lost ideas just killed it for me.

I’m hoping they can fix how these notes can be backed up. Perhaps an offline mode and then it syncs back when you’re online. Idk, something so you don’t lose these great ideas. I personally wouldn’t want to use Dropbox Paper, but they’re syncing is immaculate. I want to love Agenda. Please fix this.

Amazing

This will be a “I have never written a review before until now” type of review, which is true as I have never taken the time to review an app I’ve purchase/downloaded in the past. After using this app for the past week, I decided to make an exception. this app is a solid performing useful piece of software. I use it for my work and personal life. For work, I created a work log so I can start my day out with knowing what I have done and what I need to do. I connect my notes to a calendar event so I can track what items came out of the meeting and tasks which need completing. At the end of the day I review what was completed and note what still needs to be done. Rinse and repeat. I do the same for my personal life. I can do this with other apps too. this app is different because of the ease of use and all the great features included. Excellent job guys. Keep it up.

Simple, but so many options!

Agenda really has great features, I love being able to organize notes and projects this way. The text formatting is so great, and organizing notes, adding due dates, and being able to put specific notes and to do lists from multiple projects on the this app is so convenient. I get scheduling, note taking, and to do listing all in one place.
I would love to see just a couple more features: support for handwriting notes (eg with apple pencil or other stylus) and linking relevant documents/attachments to a project. If I could do those two things I would probably never use another note taking/to do list/scheduling app again. Adding new themes/color schemes would be nice too, maybe different color themes or a dark mode. I’d love to see what new features come out as development continues :)
Great app! Keep it up!!!

No Other App Like This One

There are still rough edges here and there. I like the tagging system but auto completion of tags would have been nice. There are some typing errors with tags sometimes where you have to go back and rewrite the tag as mouse moves unexpectedly. URL links are little too sensitive sometimes so that it makes it difficult to edit the notes. Apart from all these negatives, there is no other app like this one in Agenda Store. this app is a note app that can completely replace your note and todo app. It has become my go to organization tool. this app is where all my information goes by default including todos. It integrates with Apple reminders and calendar app nicely. It’s still a 5 star app for me and totally worth the premium it charges. Any updates and bug fixes would be icing on cake as it’s already pretty good app..

Lovin’ it

I downloaded this app a while back, played with it for a little and thought: this is really great, I just wish it fit my needs. I took another look tonight and decided my earlier self had it all wrong. I came back to look at this app because it’s beautiful. I spent longer looking at the capabilities and realized I hadn’t spent near enough time with Agenda earlier. I could say I’m impressed, but the truth is, I’m excited about using it. I did buy the premium features and I think it represents a good value. But the real kicker—the thing that let me know I had made the right decision, was the music that plays when you get the premium features—literally felt like a party. Awesome job, guys. Don’t ever take that music away! Thanks for a great app!

One of the most comprehensive productivity tools I’ve come across

Like most folks, I've spent more time than I should trying to find an app (or bundle of apps) that allow me to easily manage my time. Reminder lists, to do lists, note taking apps, calendars, etc etc. I’ve been using this app for nearly a year now, and can verify that not only has it met my somewhat lofty productivity and time management needs, but it continues to grow and develop new ways to integrate with more tools and into more of my regular tasks- making it a one stop shop app for nearly everything productivity related. Plus, it’s lightweight enough to work on any device efficiently and effectively, from a MacBook to an iPhone.

Great tool and a great app. Thank you!

I was seduced by the graphics.

this app is a nice app. Beautiful graphics, lovely interface, well organized company, terrific marketing. I bought it for a year. Using this app, for me, has been a trial. I want to do simple things. this app can do them, but it’s not simple. Best I can tell, I cannot ignore the calendar altogether. It’s always there, asking to be turned on. I bought it expressly because I like the idea of notes inherently organized by date, like my notebooks. In the end, this app, while seductively attractive, is too complicated and trying to do too many things for me that’s find difficult to control. If I have to ask how to accomplish something fundamental, it’s not simple. Maybe in a couple of years I’ll check back. If Agenda looks like it suits you, give it a good long try, attempting everything you want before you commit. I found this app to be in the way of my this app.

Pretty great, but usability + readability dealbreakers

I’ve really wanted to like this 100%. The calendar integration is really cool, the formatting is quick and easy, and iCloud sync is great. I use it for short university papers, so I’ve even considered buying premium. However, it seems that my subconscious has rejected the design of Agenda–I keep switching back to Simplenote (which is actually a bit too minimalist).

There’s something off about the font. I think it’s the kerning and spacing. Words such as “picture”, “systemic”, “privileged”... just don’t look right. Skimming paragraphs is very difficult because of the weird visual font spacing. This is also unfortunately true on Mac.

The UI feels a little bit *too spacious* in my opinion. Elements have lots of padding, and the general text size is too large. It might be the heavy UI font weight, which is a bit much (compared to Bear and Simplenote).

Good, but needs improvements

This is an interesting take on a note-taking app, and it’s definitely one I’ll be keeping my eye on. But it’s still early in development, and it needs a bit more maturing before I’ll be able to use it as my main note app.

Besides the bugs (and I ran across several just in the first few minutes of trying this out), there definitely need to be theme options. I find the orange a bit ugly, which makes me not want to stare at Agenda all day. You can’t do circle bullets, only dashes or numbers. You can’t insert an image or drawing into a note. There’s no way to view/search for incomplete checklist items.

I love the overall concept of date and calendar-based notes, as well as the separation of people vs. other tags. Hopefully these issues will be addressed as the developers work on Agenda and I’ll be able to use it in the future.

Brilliant, simple, beautiful, fascinating

This changed the way I think about projects and access information. It makes notes smart with a cleverly simple twist. It’s more powerful than attaching a date to a note; it teaches me to think more about how notes relate to each other as I create them, assign them to past and future days and link them to each other. The this app view is excellent and Agenda is superbly designed (the dark theme is gorgeous). It’s a top-class app in terms of performance and polish. Yet, I think its best feature is that it quietly nudges my note-taking habits away from one-off thoughts and toward connected, progressive ideas. It makes all the difference.

Daily planner/Bullet Journal

I love Agenda. I use it as my daily planner/ bullet journal. It’s helped me be so much more prepared for the day and very productive. I’ve come up with a layout that’s perfect for my needs. Of course there are quirks and bugs but the support team is pretty quick in fixing them so far. I’ve been using Agenda since the beginning of the year. One thing I would like would be a he ability to create sub folders inside of projects. For instance, with me using this app as a daily planner I create a plan for every day. I would like to when I finish whatever month I’ve completed to put that month into a folder labeled after that month. I hope that makes sense (lol)I think that would extremely helpful. Other than that great app!

Promising, but still needs lots of work.

This is a very promising app. It allows you to create and organize notes and sync them with your calendar. This last feature, which is a premium feature, is really useful. However, at this time the functionality is limited and some really basic features are missing. There is currently no way to include images or files, although the developers have promised this as an upcoming feature. The last thing is that it seems the developers are only focused on the Apple ecosystem. It would be nice to have an OS independent Web interface, but I do not know if one is being planned. Despite these shortcoming, I plan to keep using it and hope Agenda will mature to fulfill its potential.

Great!

Agenda is awesome. It’s EXACTLY the kind of app I need— a notes app synced with my calendar and reminders, with capabilities to add images, links, and even tags within the note.
That being said, it would be really nice if this were available for Chromebooks and Windows. I don’t have a Mac, and I’m probably not taking notes on my phone in class or a professional meeting. That extra feature— along with the ability to sync all those notes— would make Agenda pretty much perfect. I would be willing to pay to have universal device syncing.

All in all, Agenda is an amazing versatile tool that anyone could use, and I highly recommend it.

Maybe in a year it’ll be ready for iOS

Just seeing some of the other posts, plus my own 1-year experience, this app is an app with wonderful potential but not currently for the iOS version...maybe in another year.

My personal hang up with it (plus many of others’ issues with UI, images, and styling) is the poor-to-none state of iOS Share functionality. If I need to clip webpage content or grab excerpts from an email to add to a note or task, this app has no option within Share to accomplish. If I have a PDF reference file to include, no way to use Share.

Again, it has good potential and many unique features. A bit of a different workflow paradigm but one that can be easily learned. Yet there is way too much difficulty/work needed for daily usage as a serious iOS note-taking tool. See ya next year, this app!

More and more impressed

I have to wonder if the people who are giving bad reviews took enough time to learn to use Agenda . At first I was not impressed and did not understand the brilliance of this app. I even deleted it thinking it had nothing special to offer. After a few days of wondering why it got an Apple award I figured I must have missed something. So I downloaded it again for a second look.

I'm so glad I did. Agenda is really amazing. The features and syncing you get for free will be more than enough for most users. Paying for the upgrade, a one time purchase, will help support ongoing development.

this app's approach is unique and you'll need to spend a little time with it to see its genius. After initially feeling it had nothing to offer I now have it installed on my mac, iPad, and iPhone. I'm using it for my notes, shopping lists, research notes, and journal. Oh, and yes, for my this app.

I'm looking forward to seeing how it continues to develop. I haven't been this intrigued or felt such promise for an app in a long time.

Perfect for my workflow

I have been using this app on my Mac for a few months now, and having an iOS companion app is wonderful. I use it now on my iPad and iPhone. And the ability to link info out of this app directly to a calendar appointment is sweeeet! I am not a power user of Agenda by any means, but I love creating projects with simple checklists that I can then move to calendar tasks with ease. It is exactly what I need to keep track of multiple projects and multiple checklists. I also use it like a simple text editor, often composing information first in this app, then transferring it to a document, email, or text. I love the simplicity of Agenda!
