This is more about the service in general rather than Tresorit. They charge $30 per month, then impose a “device limit”. The desktop app frequently crashes, and has lost data on two occasions. Doesn’t work when I need it. And recently they dropped the “unlimited file history” which was a major reason I got it. Going to switch to Dropbox with encfs

Sound two-factor authentication (2FA) is a requirement for even moderate security. this app's 2FA requires enabling either phone or email factors, which are so insecure as to be barely better than nothing; essentially checkboxes for marketing. To add insult to injury, this app supports neither hardware keys, e.g., Yubikeys, nor backup codes.
All this despite public requests from users with years-old responses from this app saying fixes for these are on their list.

These would be bad enough from a free service making no special claims of security. From a pricey service marketing security as its primary differentiator, it's embarrassing.

Tresorit only does a good job of protecting data in transit or at rest on this app servers. It does not provide local protection of data at rest. For price they charge the security should be complete. I would like to see the application data encrypted when Tresorit is not running. At minimum Tresorit should use elevated iOS data protection classes for when Tresorit is not active. Yes, I realize my iPhone has encryption by default but you know how often my phone and everyone else is in a fully powered down and encrypted state? Maybe 0.001% of the time.

At some time, this app had missed sync with account without noticing. Camera upload had stopped and had to login to account again.

this app have no function at all to sync the missing images. You have to upload them manually. And there starts the problems. It tells you to select up to 1000 images to upload. Well good luck. Even 100 images is too much. It will start trying, but after a while you'll end up with broken images with the status "Upload in progress..." but there certainly is not and it will never fix them. And, you can't even delete images in this state. They're just forever uselessy stuck in your camera backup.

And now starts the fun process of figuring out which of the pictures you selected managed to upload properly, and which didn't. Then manually select those that didn't, plus the next batch of missing backups to upload. Rinse and repeat this failure a hundred times.

this app is now exactly what I'm not looking for in an cloud storage / backup solution.

this app is an amazing platform and I really wanted to use it. I had an issue with some of the functionality and getting any sort of tech support was impossible. They responded to my email tickets (you cannot call or chat), but I kept getting asked for screenshots and more info and no one seemed to have any grasp of my problem or how to solve it. I finally just gave up and cancelled my service. Really wanted to use the platform but lack of support was a dealbreaker for me.

Wanted an application for storage of very important highly personal information. Wanted to be a able to share files temporarily with accountant and financial professionals. Wanted Internet access as well as iPhone access. Face ID feature works well on the iPhone X, and sending a revocable encrypted file link works perfectly fine with Safari. As long as the company doesn’t go bankrupt, I believe it is worth the extra money over its competitors. Uploaded all financial and important personal information as encrypted PDF’s thru macOS’s preview app which are then stored with zero knowledge and can be shared with a password encrypted link, double the safety. 2FA via text works as well perfect.

Looks like my previous, lengthy review got deleted, so I’ll keep this short.

Great for encryption, but a bunch of annoying issues.

- files with /, :, <> characters will not upload.

- Files app integration is counter intuitive if you can’t password protect it - then your files are exposed

- if you try to share a file, such as a pdf, MP3, or video (probably any file type, but these are ones I’ve tried) by creating a link, whoever you send a link to will not be able to open the file on iOS. This is a huge miss.

Dropbox can do all of these things. There’s no reason why a better service such as this app should lack these basic features.

I don’t I have ever written an app review before but I have to for this one! I needed something to secure my work files as well as my personal files, sync across all platforms, and be Hippa compliant. I didn’t need a lot of space or anything like that, but I needed something just for me and my files! Tresorit has it all! It has a free tier that is great my my needs and it even has a feature where you can sync only certain things to certain devices! This is just as good or even better than Dropbox and Box and I have them both! Box I got when they first launched and I got 50 free gigs which is great, but as far as features and things working smoothly, I love Tresorit! I’m glad I found it! Blessings!

*Easy to learn and customize as much as you want - comes with a tutorial.

*security is so far best of all apps and encryptions I have put to the test in six years.

This cloud service is Swiss-based, and cybersecurity professional trusted. It completely integrates with the iOS file system as a cloud drive. This allows you to EDIT Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and all the Apple Office suite of products. The storage does have some cost- but you control the encryption keys, and it syncs the files across desktop and mobile operating systems- flawlessly! This service along with ProtonMail/VPN is really telling that user privacy story through technological empowerment—- encryption based services which the providers have no access to the cryptographic keying material to actually read the data they hold.

Exceptional security hidden under user-friendly design. And the recent storage limit expansion for individual plans makes their price point more competitive.

I’ve been using this app for 2 years now and I absolutely love it. It’s mobile app is easy to use, uploads items quickly and is extremely efficient. I won’t ever use another type of service now that I’ve found this one. Well worth the money.

Although a little on the expensive side, the ease of use, zero-knowledge encryption and data storage in Europe makes it worth the cost.

Ok, aside from the price and a feature of two (nothing is perfect) this is literally the best out there. Tried pretty much all of them included crap I cooked up myself. Love this thing... in a non slimy iPad sorta way. It’s fast, accurate, accessible, reliable. For me, that’s what matters most. Thanks guys, keep up the good work.

I’ve been using this app from its beginnings. It’s always improving and they value my privacy as much as I do. I’m always confident that my files are secure and safe from prying eyes. It’s never glitched on my, unlike OneDrive. I use it for my personal files as well as college coursework. One of my favorite apps on my iPhone and MacBook Pro!

I value file security but also want convenience in a cloud service, and ability to share when needed. Until this app, these were two conflicting needs & most apps either offered sharing and no security or security w/no flexibility after files were uploaded. this app has replaced a myriad of other cloud apps for me (ahem, Dropbox).

I use the iPad ever day in my work, generating multiple confidential files that need to be moved to secure storage for subsequent processing and archiving. this app is fast and easy, saving me much time and bother - and with no worries about security. It's an excellent app and one of the smoothest, most seamless user experiences I've seen for quite a while.

Update: this app works as flawlessly and seamlessly as you'd expect from the Apple environment. Five stars.

The ability to sync every folder I have on my MacBook Pro is definitely worth the money. Plus the added security gives me peace of mind that my information is safe and not being sold to third parties. With this app, I have almost no need for iCloud anymore. Another thing I love is the ability to add text notes from my phone to any folder I want. This new update has really improved Tresorit overall, and I look forward to using this service for a long time.

I'm storing my 2factor auth backup codes, bank statements, medical records and important contracts in this app. If needed I can share them really easy and track who had access to them. Once I know the desired person has the document I can revoke the access. It's great because it works seamlessly on desktop as well.

Love the concept. Execution has some rough edges, but I've stayed a customer for four years now. Hoping to see further incremental improvements.

this app is the only cloud storage company that I trust with my personal documents. Day by day there are large-scale attacks on many companies resulting in account usernames, passwords, and data being leaked, scanned and sold to the highest bidder.

Other online storage providers such as Google and Dropbox scan your files and have the ability to see everything you store. I know that this app has my back and that my files can not be accessed by anyone but me.

It has perfect zero-knowledge security, and supports all the security features you would expect, such as 2FA, login notifications, etc... But what makes them really stand out against all the others is their use of client-side encryption, meaning that unlike their competitors, your files are encrypted *before* they're uploaded to the cloud - so no one, not even this app themselves can see your files, because only you hold the key. Syncing across multiple devices also works flawlessly, and file upload speed is very fast. Their encrypted-link sharing features with the options of adding a password and limit the number of downloads is a huge plus. I've used and trusted this app since they launched in 2013 and highly recommend them.
