All these 5* reviews make absolutely no sense to me. The search function for sandwiches is completely useless. Typing in the name of the sandwich or the number (the whole reason to have a number) leads to a “not found” error every single time. This applies to when ordering in the Bay or in Austin. This is really the critical fix that needs to happen. I don’t care about the “popular sandwiches” if I’m ordering from IkesSandwiches . I want to easily be able to search for my favorite sandwich (which you can get at any Ike’s) instead of going through 5-7 clicks to get to “full menu” then manually search for it. Luckily I know the number otherwise it would be legitimately impossible to find my sandwich of choice.

Search improving needs to be the #1 priority for customer experience in the next update. I’d rather call and place an order than use IkesSandwiches.

I’ve loved Ike’s sandwiches for nearly a decade now. Each one I’ve tried has been delicious and the customer service is always great. My reigning favorite is the Jaymee Sirewich and I can always order it in person in any of the Ike’s locations I find myself in when traveling. This is not the case when ordering via IkesSandwiches , however. I’ve recently moved to Bakersfield where the Jaymee is not listed on the menu inside the Ike’s location here. I’m always able to order it from inside the store but IkesSandwiches will only allow me to choose from the sandwiches this specific location has on their menu. I’m not able to build my own sandwich or order sandwiches available at other locations. This makes IkesSandwiches not terribly helpful for me.

So disappointed. The food is delicious but not worth the money, especially when they are okay with charging you for items they don't carry! The entire point of downloading a restaurant app rather than going through a third party app ( like DoorDash) is to avoid issues like an order fee ( 2$ to use your app for a pickup order is stupid when you are trying to encourage customers to spend as little time in the store as possible). 3rd party apps also rarely know when stuff is out of stock, but you certainly should. And if an order was messed up through DoorDash, they would at least refund me. But , when I spent $10 on drinks that you no longer carried, the employ behind the counter looked at me as if it was not her problem to solve. That is stealing, in my opinion, and no way to run your business.

IkesSandwiches is one I've never had a problem with. The ordering is mostly smooth, straightforward, your payment details are saved, plus, you can walk right in and pick up your sandwich, no waiting, no need to pay at the register.

There are two things about IkesSandwiches I don't like, however. First, the available time you can choose to pick up is a lot like the "order for later" function on other apps. You have to choose a time 25-30 minutes after your order time. Sometimes the order is done early, but that raises obvious problems for a place that serves mostly hot sandwiches. IkesSandwiches needs an ASAP function. For bonus points, it should have an order progress tracker

Second drawback is the menu. Apparently, Ike's has tons of sandwiches that can be made off-menu, but it almost seems like a state secret what the unlisted options are. Sure, the menu on the store wall can only be so big, but an app with virtually unlimited "wall space" has no such excuse. Let's see the true, full menu in all its glory

Overall, it's a good app that I plan to keep using, but it could be a great app that I plan to continue using

I love their sandwiches but IkesSandwiches is terrible. There are 950+ sandwiches in their system but they expect us to pick from the 12 or so highlighted sandwiches or use the “name your sandwich” function. And if you use the “name your sandwich” you either need to know the specific name or just list ingredients and hope for the best. Oh and they charge you extra for the “name your sandwich” function because it’s a “custom” sandwich.

Fixing this wouldn’t be hard - either build a searchable list (which I’m sure they already have because who’s going to remember almost 1000 different sandwich variants) or create a search system where you can pick a few options and then the system populates from their database.

I really do love your guys’ sandwiches but I keep ordering the same 5 sandwiches because there’s no way to find something new…

It looks like IkesSandwiches was recently updated to a completely new platform and it’s way worse. I ended up just calling my order in.

– I had to completely restart my order because my account didn’t have my name added. Why couldn’t I just add it on the billing screen like any other app? I had to search for the right account info screen just to find where to update it.
– The credit card scanner doesn’t work. I’m pretty sure there is native iOS capability to do this but you use some weird third party scanner.
– Slow load times
– Bad menu design. Way too many touches to do everything. For example, I need to click “Done” to close the iOS keyboard to submit the login form because the submit button is obscured by the keyboard.

Bottom line: Your new design has made it harder to order sandwiches which is the sole purpose of IkesSandwiches . Your old app was simple and got the job done. Whoever decided you needed a refresh to push “loyalty points” should be fired. I am loyal to the sandwiches, not the tech.

I still love your food so you’re not losing a customer, just an app user.

IKE’S love & sandwiches is beyond amazing. This location is great. I love the color scheme and employees are really nice. The inside of the restaurant is very clean and well kept. They use Grubhub & DoorDash so online delivery is convenient. IKE’S also provide a variety of vegan options from cheese, meatless meat and sauce! Should I go on, the sandwiches is filled with flavor that’ll make your mouth water. Party, large events? IKE’S love & sandwiches CATERS!!!!! Simply download the IKE’S app (apple App Store/google play store) and place a order quick and easy. Enjoy your sandwich with chips, beer battered onion rights, mozzarella sticks, jalapeño poppers etc.

I love Ike’s sandwiches, I used to eat there all the time when I lived in the Bay Area. There sandwiches are amazing and the staff that works there is always really nice, and have great customer service. Makes you want to go eat there just for fun. The only negative thing is the price has gone up slightly from the past but that’s understandable, but I think it’s worth it! Food-5 🤩service 5 🤩 .

For some reason IkesSandwiches only has 9 options to choose from for meat sandwhiches and another 9 for veggie. None of the 6 or 7 different sandwhiches I normally order are on here so no point in me using it. I gave it a try, however, and similar to another review I read where they said they didn’t start making the order until they asked if the order was ready, seemed to be my experience as well. They weren’t very busy and I showed up 10+ minutes after my pickup time and they seemed surprised to hear the name of the order and then said it’d be ready in 5-8 minutes which is how long it would take to make the sandwhiches I ordered. My suggestion, skip IkesSandwiches and call in the order.

They had an app that worked for us and then they updated it. Once updated, half the sandwiches were gone from the lists… in addition, IkesSandwiches now requires you to specify all options for the sandwich…
Since Sneaky Kitty was not listed anymore, I tried rebuilding it from scratch using the “build your veggie sandwich”. When asked for “additions”, one of the choice was “bacon”. Is that fake bacon or not, not clear. Once done, the price for the sandwich comes up to 14$ or so! (The sneaky kitty is usually 8.95$). Anyway, ended up ordering at the counter. Why fix things that are not broken… I guess some marketing and software people need to justify their pay.

Lost a star due to new app, not because of the food or staff, both of which are wonderful. I’ve been going to Ike’s for a couple years and am nearly always happy with my sandwich. Using the new app today was extremely frustrating. Had trouble logging in; had to change my password. Once logged in, couldn’t store my credit card—it kept asking for info but not offering fields to enter this info. Finally figured it out, but it was definitely not intuitive.

Really disappointed with the way Ike’s has updated their app. Despite having a million sandwiches on the menus in-store, IkesSandwiches only shows a select few. If you want to order a different one, you have to remember the name or remember the ingredients, which is easy for regulars but not for someone who only goes to Ike’s occasionally.

For example, my mom wanted to order a sandwich, but she couldn’t remember the name of the one she likes. All she could remember was that it had chicken and honey mustard. After some googling we figured out that she wanted to order the Bella.

We’ve mostly been consulting photos of the menu at our local Ike’s to help decide what we want to order, which at that point makes it feel like we should just go to the store and order in person.

If someone doesn’t know about all of the other sandwiches Ike’s has, they would look at IkesSandwiches and think they only have 10 to choose from.

I was ordering through Yelp up until IkesSandwiches was presented to me, mainly because Yelp no longer worked for a certain location. So I got IkesSandwiches , installed IkesSandwiches , and went to set something up, Only to find out they don’t accept Apple Pay, and you have to enter credit card information manually in IkesSandwiches either for a one time purchase or stored in IkesSandwiches .

No thanks. Not storing CC information in an app that isn’t secure and not manually re-entering CC info each time I order something.

App removed, will wait to return once it’s fixed.

This update is disaster nightmare, it wiped my account and I’m not the only case, most of my friends got the same situation. We couldn’t find our account anymore. Also the menu is wired. We usually order #98, now the menus only have several options there.
So here are two important things that development team need to rush on:
1. Bring the customers database back a.k.a. where is my accout? Last time I used it is May 20th 2021
2. Bring back the full menu please. You are not only confused online order customer but also in store employees.

We found out Ike’s is opening near our house so we went online to check it out. We couldn’t believe how many awesome reviews were written about Ike’s so we decided we couldn’t wait for it to open and went to the location on Midway. Let’s just say we’re hooked! We now drive to the Midway location once a week and we can’t wait for the new location to open. Thanks Ike!

There is clearly a disconnect between IkesSandwiches and the store you order from. IkesSandwiches times are not correct and IkesSandwiches does not provide accurate updates on the status of your order. I’ve used IkesSandwiches twice now from 2 different locations and both times it took way longer than going into the store and my order was incorrect.

The first time I ordered I arrived at the store at the pickup time and found out the store never processed my order which meant they hadn’t even started making it yet. I had already waited an hour from the time I placed the order and had to wait another 25 minutes for them to make my order while I waited at the store.

I tried IkesSandwiches again at another location and I only received half my order. IkesSandwiches clearly showed I ordered 5 sandwiches and I only got 3. I had to wait an additional hour at the store while they made me 2 more sandwiches.

If you are trying to save time, definitely don’t use IkesSandwiches

There isn’t an option for shorter pick up times. Usually 30 minute+ wait. However, if I phone in my order it takes half the time. Then there isn’t an option to scan my receipt to get credit for orders not used within IkesSandwiches .

So, if the incentive is to have people order online they should update their features.

Similar to what others have said, IkesSandwiches doesn’t let you pick a time that is less than 30 minutes out. I arrived 10 minutes “early” and waited.

Five minutes after my scheduled pickup time I asked the guy at the counter if my order was ready. He checked the back, came back & told me it would be another 5 minutes. In other words, they had not even started making my sandwich.

Therefore, IkesSandwiches doesn’t save you anytime. If anything, it makes the wait even longer. I won’t be using IkesSandwiches again until I read reviews that say that this process has been corrected.

I am so frustrated!!! I have a super short lunch and preordered from Ike’s in San Ramon. I received a reminder to pick up my order and when I arrived they let me know IkesSandwiches isn’t working and they would have to make my sandwich. The store staff was awesome but this is ridiculous. Don’t let IkesSandwiches take orders if it doesn’t actually send the store. Bad user experience today!!!!

Great app, but some little issues:

UI issue: When you select a field, such as “Special Instructions,” the keyboard interface gets stuck even when you tap outside the field.

UX issue: entering credit card enters automatically detected US state but unless you manually enter the state for your CC it says “you must enter a state.”

I search out Ike’s online and bump into a phony site. Next, I have fumble around in the real site to get into local store (without Grub Hub) and get a pop-up for me to join, which I do; but then I have to download app from App Store. I place my $43 order to pick up but then have enter all of my info again to create an account. Lastly, I’m asked to rate my experience and write this review. I could have driven the 16-mile round trip to Ike’s in this amount of time! (The food is great!)

IkesSandwiches is so easy to use. It’s thorough and has all the options that food delivery apps don’t. And the food?! As an Arab-American I love the Halal Chicken. I live with vegan/vegetarians and they love the options. Sauces, sides and meats/veggies are just the best! Always fresh and always the highest quality. Will never order a sub from anywhere else! Please try them!

Last weekend, I ordered a delicious Patrick Marleau from their Hillsdale/Ross Ave location. App timed out when ordering 3 times in a row and did not give me a confirmation that my order had been processed. Checked my email a little later and the charges had actually gone through. Spoke with two employees and they said they didn’t have access to remove the extra orders from the system. Had to spend 20 min with credit card company to dispute duplicate charges. Will not use IkesSandwiches again.

I love Ike’s but I don’t love IkesSandwiches as it is. I often order a turkey + avo sandwich, but IkesSandwiches only lets you choose from a limited list of their creations; there’s no custom or build-your-own option. To boot, our local store no longer has a phone line, so I can’t call ahead with a custom order. I’d also like the option to pay upon pick-up, without having to pay ahead on IkesSandwiches . Hard to tell how secure my payment info is.

Tried this multiple times, but does not work for me. I can pick a sandwich, pick a pick up time slot, enter cc info but when checking out get an error “please select a pickup time” even though a pickup time is selected. Tried on multiple days.

I find it deplorable that the customer should have to take on the responsibility of this additional charge when it should be the sole responsibility of Ike’s. Then to add insult, the company states at the end of purchase that in order for the customer to be returned the surcharge they are to ‘simply’ inform the cashier or worker to do so. How repugnant and arrogant. So you redirect the social implication in that situation onto the customer for something that is your initial responsibility? Disgusting. It only paints the customer heartless for asking that charge be retroacted. What a shameful business tactic.…

Please add a visual when I tap on a sandwich reorder. I just added the same sandwich 10 times accidentally and had to remove them all individually from the cart.

Also please give me an option to order “now”. I don’t want to specify a pickup 40 minutes from now...

When the password field is tapped on iPhone 11 Pro, the page doesn’t show the field and you can’t scroll. It’d be nice if strong suggested passwords were an option (system feature that automatically suggests them), and if there was a feedback form within IkesSandwiches instead of having to leave reviews here.

I can chose between exactly 13 sandwiches, with zero options to find different kinds, despite it saying there are “hundreds” of sandwiches to chose from. Once you do chose between the 13, you can make changes. Don’t like pepper jack? Too bad! You can add a different extra cheese, but that one stays. I suppose I can try to put it in the write in section, but I’ve had that ignored before and really, IkesSandwiches should really have more options. Plus HOW DO YOU MAKE JUST A REGULAR SANDWICH?!?!

I hate how IkesSandwiches only presents you with a limited number of options for sandwich ordering. If you go into any Ike's location, they can make you any name/number of sandwich you like. With IkesSandwiches , you have a very limited selection of options - limited to that specific store's offerings. Furthermore, they only have a few of the bread types available, even if a store does offer other types.

Clearly not much effort went into developing IkesSandwiches for customer ordering.

Would be nice if ALL the sandwiches were listed. Otherwise I need to customize. Also the UI on iOS at least was glitchy when adding additional comments - could only see half of what I wrote and there was no obvious way to Enter what I had written...
